You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her ‘quiet time.’ Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas.

I LOVE the writing duo of Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank. I seriously can devour their books they write alone, but when they write together it is totally something special that I know will always be a sure thing for me. I don’t know if I have read anything from them that was even as low as a four star. Kieran and Bash couldn’t be more different. Bash is the tech god (or goddess 😘), the lover of beautiful things, the sassy and sexy confident gay man. Kieran is the sexy as sin lieutenant of Station 73 who has been basking in the glory of being named Chicago’s sexiest firefighter. The two meet when a fire calls Kieran to a burning building where he heroically rescues Bash, carrying the beauty in the red gown out of the building. Surprised to see that Bash isn’t a damsel in distress, but a gorgeous man, it sets them on a new path. While Kieran is a straight man, he is confused as to why is so drawn to Bash. And as the two get to know one another, the lines get blurred and attractions heat up. Good grief these guys were something else! This first book in the Dare To Try trilogy was scorching hot and I think the heat is only going to intensify.

    DARE YOU. This is the first book in the trilogy of Bash and Kieran's love story. The characters of this trilogy are both introduced in the previous series; Bash from Brooke's South Haven series and Kieran from Ella's Prime Time, you don't have to have read the series to enjoy this trilogy, but it will it more enjoyable so I would really suggest you read them!

    Bash has a very bubbly personality and proudly shows the world his true gay self. He's the CEO of his own tech company - he's very famous in the business world. That's why he's in Chicago at the moment to open an office there.

    Kieran is one of Chicago's hottest firefighters and a womanizer. But then he rescues this pretty guy from a hotel on fire and he's suddenly questioning everything because he just can't get Bash out of his head.

    This story is funny, hot, sexy with a bit of drama!
    They're so perfect for each other, but of course, we have a long way to go until that happy end!

    I loved reading this and I can't wait to see where Brooke & Ella will take us in the next two books.

    Kieran is a firefighter and was called to a building that was on fire. He carried out a tall person in high heels, thinking it was a woman. It turned out to be a femme CEO, Sebastian Vogel.

    They start meeting up and end up daring each other to push Kieran’s boundaries. This book was a slow burn with a low amount of spice, but still very hot!🔥 I wish that there were more spicy scenes; however, it was a great read.

    I loved how opposite Kieran and Bash were. Bash loves to dress up by wearing makeup and Louboutins, while Kieran is experiencing a bi-awakening and is quite manly. Kieran begins to panic once things start to become more serious with Bash.

    I do wish that I had known it ended on a cliffhanger before diving in, but it was still a great read.

    🎧 The narrators were PERFECT for the audiobook! Bash’s voice was the perfect fit for his feminineness.

    This was great! I've been waiting so long for Bash's story after we met him in the South Haven series and it was worth the wait! I never would have thought pairing him with the 3rd Bailey brother from Ella's Chicagoverse would work, but it really does. I loved Kieran from the start, Bash took just a little bit of time to grown on me as he was slightly over the top at first. But I quickly warmed up to his larger than life personality that was perfectly balanced with the smart, confident, self-assured CEO.
    I really enjoyed how Bash and Kieran had this connection from the start but still slowly built up from spending time together to more. Kieran was very hesitant about being with a man since he did not understand his attraction to Bash having identified as straight up until now. Their flirting was sexy and when they took it to next level it was smoking hot! Of course we end on a small cliff being book 1 of 3...I cannot wait to read book 2!

    I am jumping into book 2. Can't wait to see what happens. As always, these two authors are fabulous on their own. However, together, they write incredible stories.

    I loved everything about this book minus that cliffhanger that left my need to know bursting! The majority of what i read is MF romances, i am always up for reading something new. I was recommended this book and was not at all disappointed.

    I love the way Bash was so sure of himself. While yes he still held those normal insecurities we all have but he was intune with who he was and not afraid to just be him! Black heels, red sequins and all that sass! But what I loved the most was that while he was wildly attracted to Keiran he never pushed him to be or do anything he wasn't for. He allowed him the space to deal with his feelings and never pressured him. He allowed Keiran to come to him. I loved watching their friendship Blossom, and grow into something more. But Bash... you got in your head and that cliffhanger! Off to read book 2 asap!! I'm hooked!!

    Holy wow! I love when these 2 authors team up! The South Haven series is amazing so I knew this would be no different.

    Sebastian "Bash" Vogel's character a bit wild and unique and boisterous. He's also smart and witty and bold. His extroverted personality drew Kieran Bailey in from minute one.

    It's kind of a "gay for you" or "bi for you" storyline. I loved how the men established this easy friendship first that was also a bit flirtatious, innocently. Kieran was straight as they come, until Bash's colorful personality got under his skin. He awakened something in KB.

    I really loved them together. The story was sexy and fun and extremely engaging. With the slight cliffhanger, I absolutely CANNOT wait until book 2!

    A new trilogy from these two authors and I've remained a fan of their collabs. They create sexy, fun characters to enjoy. However, I felt a little bored with Kieran. Bash is a person I've wanted to read for a long time and I'm so excited to finally have him but gosh Kieran and Bash are so different. And that is one of the obstacles they will have overcome but it feels way to opposite like. Just not at all meshing. Hardly any chemistry. We still have 2 more books so I'm holding my breath here.
    Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank haven't disappointed yet so im gonna wait for what happens next!

    They hit it off from the start and become friends. Bash would like more, but Kieran is straight...or is he?

    This is the first book in the "Dare to Try' books and does end in a cliffhanger (darn). Many of the side characters are from other books by the authors, and as per normal they add enjoyment and a bit of sarcasm wherever they go.

    I have already pre-ordered the other two books in the series and am looking forward to them with bated breath.

    Bash is simply amazing. One of the most complex, interesting and unique characters I’ve ever read about. Very well constructed, his personality has so many intense and bright layers that if the book was only about him, it would be already a hit.
    But there comes Kieran, aka lieutenant of Chicago FD. He is a hero personified as he never thinks twice before doing whatever it takes to save and to protect peoples lives. He saved Bash in more ways than one by taking him out of danger.
    Together they found friendship and companionship first and desire right after.
    Very sexy, but also very sweet, this book was another fantastic example of these authors creativity and how they write in such perfectly synchronized way, they look as if they were one only mind.
