4.6 out of 5 stars 23 ratings

After the Challenge of the Ithkari, everything had fallen apart for Kurt and his friends. As his game world and real life collided, he had all but walked away from the world of Darklands Online entirely. The departure was short-lived, however, as one last mystery presented itself. Embroiled in a new plot with a promise he cannot refuse, Kurt must make his way back to the city of Wester while enlisting the aid of those players he has met along the way.

New dangers await while old foes come to the forefront. Gathering allies and power may not be enough with the very world Kurt enters set against him. It will take every trick he's learned as well as a couple of new ones to survive one last foray into the realm of Darklands Online.

Kurt and friends are sent into a raid dungeon to find out what is really going on with wheeler.

Well written and the raid mechanics are top notch this has been my favorite book in the series so far.

Tons of returning characters and a satisfying end.

I've been a fan of the Darklands Online series since day one and have greatly enjoyed all the books in the series. Book 4 is a wonderful continuation and a perfect conclusion to the story.
Once again, we follow Kurt and his friends on their adventures in Darklands Online but this time things have become way more dramatic because what happens in the game effects Kurt's (and everyone else's) real life.
The main characters are as quirky and loveable as always, and this time, the cast also features some new people. I particularly liked Krav. I'd like to see a DO book with him as the main character.
There are dungeons, dragons and evil programmers using god mode in the game.
As always, Bushman's writing style is smooth and well-edited. Even though there has been a narrator change I wasn't bothered by it at all. After a couple of minutes, I was used to the new narrator and I think he did a formidable job.
Definitely recommended to everyone who has read the previous books in the series!

If you're reading book 4, you've probably already read books 1-3 and know what to expext.
    It's a satisfying ending.
