Follow-up story to'Til Death Do Us Part
Henry and Sam Miller-Greene are enjoying life in the summer after Henry's rescue from a small South Pacific island, where Henry and three others were marooned for five years.
Henry and Sam thought adopting Aiden - the child with whom Henry had been stranded - would be smooth sailing. Matters are complicated by the public nature of their rescue that has turned the survivors into overnight celebrities. Anti-gay-fueled animus rears its ugly head in the blogosphere, causing concerns over the impact libelous rumors might have on Aiden.
With their nightmare separation behind them, Henry and Sam are anxious to renew both the intensity of their former intimacies - now hampered by having a curious and still apprehensive child sharing their home - and their commitment to one another. Will they be able to move their love forward now that they are together again?

- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2016Can I just take a minute to say, cover love? Okay, with that out of the way, I put my hand up for a review copy of this story prior to seeing the cover, based on the fact I loved ‘Til Death do us Part.
This story is low on angst, besides some homophobe meddling in affairs that shouldn’t concern him, and is more about reacquainting yourself with the world after being stranded on an island for five years. The innocence of six-year old Buddy/Aiden is even more prominent because of his isolated start to life. The love between him and Henry is palpable. I’m glad Buddy got to spend time with his biological family. His grandparents were wonderful people.
As the title suggests, Henry and Sam renew their vows. The trip away on their own added some steam to the story.
In a sense this story gives closure to the outcome of book one, and I’d highly recommend it to those who have read ‘Til Death do us Part.
Now I’m off to dive headfirst into book 3!

This is a follow-up story to ’Til Death Do Us Part. It picks up where the first book left off and if you have not read the first book, this book will not have the meaning that is intended. I strongly suggest that you go and read ’Til Death Do Us Part. That book was interesting and made me a little crazy. I had to stop reading at about 85 percent to go to work and all I could think about was Henry, Buddy, Sam, and Nash. It truly was a fantastic story to read. If you have not read it. Stop reading this review and go get ’Til Death Do Us Part. You will not be sorry. Then come back to get this story. The plot is about how Henry and Buddy acclimate to being back in the real world off of the island that they called home for most of Buddy’s life. Now they are facing the media and the homophobic people that feel that Buddy would be better off living with the relatives of his deceased parents and not two homosexual men. Henry and Sam have undeniable chemistry. A love that survives the worst of times. At 51 pages, the pacing is pretty fast. Again, if you haven’t read the first book you will be pretty lost. This book has a sweet happy ending. The character Development was pretty much done in the first book. I personally enjoyed this story because I read the first book.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2017Talk about an intense story! I've read several stuck-on-an-island-after-a-plane-crash-slash-boat-sinking before, but what I found refreshing about this author's take on the story line was that we had two different perspectives--that of the survivor on the island and the survivor back home, Henry and Sam, respectively. My heart went out to these two as they struggled with their new normal apart, and how it felt as if there was no hope for things to get better, stuck in dire circumstances I would never wish on my worst enemy. The synopsis pertains more to that of 'Til Death Do Us Part than it does From This Day Forward, because giving details on the latter may spoil the former for those who have never read nor listened to either one. What I will say is that the second audiobook, which serves more as an extended epilogue, does have something to do with Henry and Sam and one other character. As far as the story goes, I enjoyed the stories but wished they were combined in one release rather than in two separate ones, with the second being really quite short. Gilmore's narration took a bit of getting used to, especially since it sounded rather droll in the beginning, but as the first audiobook played on, I found myself embracing his voice so by the time we got to the second on, I simply sat back, and enjoyed. I look forward to listening to the next Vows audiobook, To Love and to Cherish. Four stars go to 'Til Death Do Us Part, and 3.5 stars for From This Day Forward. ♥
- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2019The perfect followup to 'Til Death Do Us Part. Sam, Henry and Aiden (buddy) are home, moving forward into their HEA. I loved that Sam and Henry actively worked to make Aiden's biological family a real part of their lives. Outside forces work to dismantle what they have but nothing can tear them apart. Sam made me smile when he asks Henry to marry him again, it was perfect. Having Aiden be part of their ceremony was too sweet.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2017From This Day Forward is a nice follow up to 'Til Death Do Us Part, and it was nice to get more closure for Sam and Henry--and Aiden as well. Aiden kind of stole the spotlight for me in this story!
This is a very quick read, yet lets us see how the three of them are getting on with their lives, and particularly how Aiden is adjusting. There is some drama that crops up thanks to those narrow-minded, bigoted people in the world, and it throws a bit of stress into the mix. But what this story really is for readers is a nice extended epilogue to give this sweet family resolution to the nightmare they endured in book one.
This book gets 4-stars from me, and also an 18+ reader reminder as well for some language and sexual content.
The narration: I thought David Gilmore actually did a better job with this second Vows story, making the character voices more distinct. This let me enjoy the story more this time around. Again the pacing was even and the narration flowed well, so 4 stars for the narration.
