About the author

Meredith Russell is an author, cover artist and vampire slayer. Okay, she may have made that last one up, but that’s what she loves about writing—the possibilities. No matter where her stories are set—from fantastical worlds of zombies and werewolves to the ambling life of an English village—she strives to write about romance and the tales of men searching for their happy ever after. Meredith writes the stories she loves to read—hopeful, emotional, a journey, and sometimes unexpected.
In 2012 Meredith had her first novels published, as well as being commissioned to do her first cover design. She now splits her time between populating fictional worlds with characters she adores, and helping other authors bring theirs to life through cover art. She has had a number of popular releases, including Dead Things, Just Jack, and the Sapphire Cay series written with RJ Scott.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2020I plowed through this book. It was a great read with wonderful characters to love and hate. Devin and Noah are in bad positions, but they make of it what they can. There are tense moments, a lot of gore, and quite a few disturbing deaths, but that’s to be expected of zombies. I enjoyed this story a lot and will read the sequel.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2019I liked the premise but the romance felt way to rushed! Noah seemed very obsessed with Devin right from the beginning. I didn’t like how Devin told him multiple times that he didn’t want to start something and Noah never listened. It just felt unrealistic that someone who keeps talking about his dead boyfriend would just automatically fall in bed with this guy he barely knows especially with what was happening with Corden.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2018I like that someone wrote an apocalypse book with gay characters, which was a nice change in the apocalypse genre. But other than that it followed a M/M romance format.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2016This was an entertaining story, I enjoyed reading it. It would have been nice to know what made Noah immune, but still a good story.

Excerpt from review:
This may not be a story that will appeal to everyone, but the slow build-up of Devin and Noah’s relationship and the minimal sex was totally realistic. For a zombie story, it was pretty damn good.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this book
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't something I had read before and I was interested in how the zombie apocalypse was handled. Very well in my opinion. There was just enough description of the events leading up to the start of the journey between Devin and Noah. The characters are given their own tale, throughout the story you get a glimpse into their past. The sex is left to the imagination, but well done when they first get together. I'm not going into much detail about the story as that can give too much away and the blurb covers the main points. I do want to read the next book and have pre-ordered it. I look forward to their next adventure.
