Deadly Retaliation: A Dark Bully Harem Romance Kindle Edition
So, how do I get even with someone like that? Not face to face, that’s for sure. The man is black ops trained and knows more styles of martial arts than I know ice-cream flavors. No, I’m going to be a little underhand about this. I’m going to kidnap his sister. Then, I’m going to torture her until she’s screaming down the fucking phone and send him the video. Then, I’m going to mess with his wife.
Buckle up. It’s going to be quite a ride.
Deadly Retaliation is an intense dark romance suspense series. It features a bully alpha male special agent and a female assassin. They are involved in a underground world of organised crime and espionage. These books are dark and horribly twisted. You have been warned!

From the Author
- There is just something about Ms Mandara's writing that resonates with my id. Her characters charm me, I find her naughty scenes a delightful mix of kink, darkness and scorching heat and there is an undercurrent of tartly sarcastic humour throughout. The pace readily held my attention, as did the amazingly creative, and crazy, plot. I absolutely, totally and utterly recommend this book - Life In The Book Lane ★★★★★
- This series had all of the dirtiest, kinkiest, and darkest BDSM scenes I have ever read in one book - PUSS 'N' Books Reviews ★★★★★
- What a cast of characters! Assassins, heads of covert ops, restaurateurs who know you have a mouthful of panties - they're all here. Brought together for wickedness and laughs, and there's plenty of both. If you thought James Bond was witty and sexy, you ain't seen nothing yet. The cliffie is utterly evil, just like Adrian, it will have you on edge until the next book is out. Can't wait! Highly recommended - Author E J Frost ★★★★★

About the author

Christina Mandara is a USA TODAY bestselling author and tends to write dark romance with lashings of kinky naughtiness. Her favourite pastime is travelling, and if it involves sun, sea and… sand then it’s all good.
In her spare time she’s usually cuddled up with a good book, exploring the countryside or baking in the kitchen. In fact, she loves her kitchen so much she’s one of few women who wouldn’t mind being tied to it! Her first and foremost love is writing, however, and more often than not you’ll find her on a laptop spinning tales of romance, erotica or dark, paranormal fantasies.
She's a big fan of BDSM in all of its glorious forms, and her favourite item in the toy closet (a box simply isn’t big enough) is her riding crop.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2020If you have read and loved the Secret Agents series then this is a must read. It is all about Adie and what happens after that explosive ending of the Secret Agent series.
Adie is in all his unapologetic glory. He is true to himself in every way. There are a lot of great, funny, sassy, sexy conversations between the characters. It made me laugh. There is also a lot of action going on, so you will be flipping page after page to find out what will happen next.
I can’t wait for the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2021Adrien Dumortier lives! I was such a fan of his character in the Special Agent series and, honestly, was devastated when his character died. I was hoping that he hadn't though and was surprised, pleasantly so, when I saw the beginning of his own series.
It took me a bit to warm up to his character in this though because he was written almost tamely in it. Completely different than the POV chapters of his in the prior series. I also have to say the same for Elizabeth Sharkey's character, she seemed much stronger and able to take more than the way her character was written in here.
He may be written this way though because of how jilted and betrayed he feels because he believes that he was left behind, he truly doesn't know everything Lois had to overcome towards the end of the Special Agent series.
Months after the device of his twin brother, he is working as an undercover agent for Elizabeth and her company, who has seriously misjudged him. James and Louis, no longer employed by the same company are still in the same line of work though, with their team member, Melinda Leader. Mel seems to be one step ahead of Adie throughout.
With the ever want to go after James to get to Lois, Adie ends up coercing Sharkey in order to get to him. One step ahead though, James employs Leader to go undercover has a sister in order for Adie to kidnap who he believes to be the sister.
Once these two meet, whose willpower will win over? Will James get to Leader before her walls crack? When will Adie realize the deceptive switch? To find out these answers and more, we shall continue into book two.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2021If this book is any indication of the series, then I am all in. This book is dark and gritty and twisted. We have Adrien who was suppose to be dead. There is betrayal and plenty of action. This book grabs you from the beginning and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The characters are wonderful and flawed. The plotting and the action and the hand that Adrien was dealt made the book. I cannot wait for the other two books to read. This is an amazing story will all of its twists and turns.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2020This book by as okay. I felt was forced story with much substance in the story. It's written well and pretty good length.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2020This was good but doesn’t have the depth of the Special Agent Series. Couple of medical inaccuracies (I work in the field):
There is no way in hell one could inject something directly into the femoral artery through clothing without palpating/locating it first, takes some focus.
Oral activated charcoal works when something has been swallowed. Epsom salts are to induce vomiting. When barbiturate/epinephrine are given IM or IV they and their metabolites are cleared via the kidneys so the charcoal wouldn’t help.
The purpose of making a fist for a blood draw or IV insertion is to clench muscles to pop the veins out. Moving a another person’s hand into a fist doesn’t help at all.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2020Well, this will be a very interesting ride. Ohhhh Adie you beautiful twisted soul. I cannot wait for the next book to see what will happen to these badass assassins!!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2020I read the special/secret agent series. And they were disturbing because the story prevented me from just reading the dirty parts! Jeez, why do you have to tell a good story and have excellent smut too? So unfair, but keep writing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kaboom! Adie Dumortier is back, and he's definitely taking prisoners.
If you've read the author's Special Agent Novel series then it's very likely that you will already be madly in love with Adie. In Deadly Retaliation the sense of betrayal he feels seems to have unbalanced his ego somewhat.
He's in parts a lost little boy, looking for love, and a complete and utter bar-steward, determined to wreak revenge on those he considers to have done him wrong. How you can want to both hug and slap a hero at the same time, I'm not sure, but Adie makes me feel extremes of emotion simultaneously. I don't think there are many of us who would turn down a night with this man - even knowing that it will leave us wrecked.
Whilst we have met some of the characters in a previous series, you can jump into the story here.
Anything you need to know has been worked into this book, so whilst all the pertinent backstory is covered, it does mean it contain spoilers for that previous series. The book ends on a cliffhanger, though at a natural break point rather than a high octane moment. The book is written from multiple POV, though mainly it is Adie's along with a few chapters each from the women who both would like to have him under their thumb, as well as in their panties.
There is just something about Ms Mandara's writing that resonates with my id. Her characters charm me, I find her naughty scenes a delightful mix of kink, darkness and scorching heat and there is an undercurrent of tartly sarcastic humour throughout. The pace readily held my attention, as did the amazingly creative, and crazy, plot. I absolutely, totally and utterly recommend this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was expecting
3.5 stars. I feel so misled about this book. Yes, Adie is getting revenge by kidnapping James’ sister because James stole Lois from him. The majority of the book was about Adie’s need to dominate his boss, Sharkey as he is being ridiculed in the office by his boss and colleagues over his failure to beat his counterpart assassin, Melanie Leader at each mission he is given. Just as we’re about to see if James will confront Adie, the book ends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really no words left!
Ah man, there really are not words to describe how much I love this author's writing and her most damaged, deranged and delectable creation, Adie. I fell in love with him in the Sparks series and was devastated at the end of that series that Adie didn't get the girl, so I waited with not-concealed-at-all impatience for his return. And I haven't been disappointed at all ;-) If you love your heroes dark, tormented, controlling and overwhelmingly, irresistibly sexy then you will love Adie. Although not as much as me, obviously...
