The Death of Innocence: A heart wrenching, twisting British murder mystery crime thriller (Detective Tom Blake Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 137 ratings

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compelling read! Intense and well-written narrative, with great characters! This book will stay with you for a long time, don't miss it!!! S McK Goodreads

A secret so deadly, no one is safe.

When controversial journalist Rosalyn French is captured on CCTV stumbling barefoot around a multi-storey car park after her laptop is stolen,
Detective Inspector Tom Blake is called in to investigate.

Twenty-four hours later, her apartment is found ransacked and her body discovered floating face down in a canal. Rosalyn has been secretly meeting with a world-renowned scientist from a powerful pharma company. Were they having an affair – or is something much darker going on?

When the scientist is found dead in his lab with a knife clenched in his hand and
Famacoxin kills carved into his desk, DI Blake must ask himself: is this smear of a groundbreaking children's cancer drug, funded by millions in research dollars, covering up far more sinister deeds?

Could
Blake and his team be on the brink of uncovering an atrocity that still affects the lives of the world’s forgotten children today?

Will they be in time to discover a horrifying truth, and protect more innocent children from murder, before the powerful forces they hunt silence them forever?

This British detective novel is a breathtaking, character-driven murder mystery that will keep you hooked until the final shocking twist. Perfect for fans of J.D. Kirk, J.M. Dalgliesh, Angela Marsons, Simon McCleave and Mel Sherratt.

Really enjoyed this next book.. When DI Tom Blake and DS John Murphy are called in to investigate a body floating the river near the police station, they had no clue they would soon become involved in kidnapping, murder, Nazi-type experimentation of drugs on children, and finally, running for their lives from the Russian mob. Highly recommend this next in the series.

the characters of Blake and Murray are well developed. This case touches on evil so dark but also shows the way humans can do the best thing they can.

Detectives Blake and Murphy travel to Albania in hopes of discovering the connection between the deaths of a journalist, a scientist, the Mafia and a drug developed for children's cancer. What they find is a horrific scene that almost cost them their lives. This book cuts deeply and shows the inhumanity of the Nazis during WW II. Even children were not safe. Superbly crafted, this is one book that should be at the top of your reading list. Outstanding. Very Highly Recommended.
