    OMG!!! I have never laughed so hard while reading a book. I love Felix and Lane so much. I read the 3 books in 2 days. I love how the 2 main characters fit together. I also love how Lane's family accepts Felix into their lives considering how off beat Felix is. The story lines are not heavy but how much fun they are. I can not wait for the next one.

    The third book in this extremely entertaining series and by far the best.
    Felix and Lane get up to their hairlines in mischief, deception and outrageous verbal snark in this final(?) book of the series. Felix is outrageously humorous and witty, even more than in the prior two books! And Lane is always ready with his own biting sarcasm and dry, sexily -laden retorts.
    The main theme of this book can be summed up as "Do we find trouble or does trouble find us?" Because both men are constantly either being shot at, plotted against, beaten up or, in Felix's case, stripping on a pole! (Don't ask, I'm not telling!)
    The supporting characters are outstanding, particularly Cal, Lane's old friend who visits (and ends up staying on Lane's sofa) and Tom, Lane's father, a police detective. Amazing world- building, plenty of action, lots of misadventures and the heat between Felix and Lane has never been hotter. (In both words AND deeds!)
    A remarkable conclusion to a brilliant series, this story packs a powerful punch in the reader's gut and funny bone. A definite "must read!"

    I still just can't give it 5 stars for the unbelievable amount of suspension of any reality involved. I just... the story of police officers and this family is outrageous. While hilarious, this book is based in realistic world setting. I cannot get over my disbelief of all the things they do and get away with.

    I probably should have just written an overall series review because though I read book 1 back in November for my Caregiver Month 2019 post, I read books 2, 3, & 3.5 back-to-back-to-back now. However, I wrote them up individually so don't be surprised if some of what I've said previously shows up again.

    On to Deception in Darkness.

    Felix and Lane are brilliantly snarky and cuddly as always. They are perfect together and by "perfect" I mean completely imperfect with brutal honesty, zinger and one-liner filled banter that to the outsider may seem mean and spiteful but to those of us who get Felix and Lane we know it's all done from a place of compassion, friendship, and respect fueled 150% by love. I understand how that kind of relationship isn't for everyone and why some might see it as mean and spiteful but as I said previously my parents have a similar zinger-filled banter relationship(on a smaller scale without the danger addiction😉😉) and they'll be celebrating their 50th in October so when I see that kind of relationship in books I get it and find it completely heartwarming to know that others out there have experienced it too.

    As for the danger I mentioned above, well I don't know who is more heavily addicted: Felix or Lane? They both have a penchant for trouble, Felix is probably more of a magnet for it, Lane may not go looking for it but he certainly doesn't shy away from it when it presents itself. Just one of the many reasons why they are perfectly matched.

    I'm not going to say any more specifics to Deception's plot or the situations the guys find themselves in but I will add that not a single character is extra, page-filler, or unnecessary because each and everyone plays a part. New and old, each makes their mark and earns their spot in the In Darkness series.

    Whether there is more to come in Felix and Lane's journey I don't know but I will definitely welcome any of their adventures for years to come. More or not, this will definitely be going on my re-read/listen list. The blending of humor, romance, heat, danger, and adventure makes this one I'll never tire of visiting.

    I can’t get enough of this series. I finished reading all three in a row, and I can’t wait for the next book. I absolutely adore Felix. He’s pocket sized fierce with a huge heart. He and Lane’s devotion to each other is perfect and delightful. With Lane, Felix gains a loving family and an ever-widening circle of friends, but in Felix, Lane gains lightness, laughter, and love. From the very first meeting, Felix’s snark and irreverence about Lane’s ‘disability’ snaps Lane from his depression and helps ground him. Felix helps Lane see the world. The interactions these two have with each other and the other cast of characters in the book will make you laugh. Not only are the secondary characters interesting and funny as well, but Felix has a habit of adding a pet to their menagerie with each book. It’s all quite wonderful.

    I’m so invested and intrigued by all of these characters. Lane’s family easily adopts Felix as their own, but Tom, Lane’s taciturn detective father, somehow gets roped in each adventure in some capacity. Heavy sighs notwithstanding, he loves these guys and would do anything for them. Cal, an add-on in book three, is another story I can’t wait to read about, and it definitely appears that he’ll get his own book at some point along with Grayson? Then you have Frank and Antonio. Will they get one, too? No matter what, I want this series to continue with all of these guys, as well as Copper, Clawdia, and the Brigadier. The dialogue and abundance of humor had me hooked from book one and each book keeps getting better for me as Felix and Lane’s world expands and gets richer with each new character and zany adventure. These are my first books by AW. I’ll definitely be checking out other stories by her while I wait for the next Felix and Lane book.

    Highly recommend. Moments of peril heavily interspersed with laughter.

    This book 3 in the series continues the story of Felix and Lane and it is simply amazing. The evolution in their relationship, the banter between them and between Felix and all the other characters is so hilarious that I spent a great part of the book laughing aloud. I loved how sweet they are as a couple and how they found a way out of any difficult situations Felix put them on. The book is entertaining, interesting, romantic and totally unpredictable. I strongly recommend to read it in order after the other books in the series to fully understand the unique characters and their relationship. Brilliant!!

    What I Thought About The Book - Perfect, another great instalment in this amazing series. Felix and Lane really are amazing characters. They really are perfect for each other. I also really love the side characters, I really hope eventually Cal gets his own book, he deserves his happily ever after. This book made me laugh so much, I also recommend listening to the audiobook because it just makes it even funnier. I Would certainly 100% recommend this book and series.
