Deep Sea Love (Norse Sea Dragons Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 352 ratings

"I never trusted any woman enough to be with her. Until you."

Nia’s half-brother disappeared in Norway. He’s either in hiding…or dead. Nia’s coven is after the grimoires he took, and they think she might be involved. That’s why she’s freezing her ass off in a tiny Norwegian village, looking for him.

Magnus is the worst king in the history of their sea dragon clan. Considering his father - and his father before him - was a brutal tyrant, that’s saying something. But his problems just keep piling up. His mother destroyed the one clue that could shed light on his younger brother’s murder, and someone is sniffing after the dead witch at the village, meddling in things better left alone.

Whatever happens, Magnus must keep his clan safe and protected from humans and witches both. And the woman he saved from being fish bait is a complication he can’t afford. Even if she’s stirring feelings inside him he hasn’t experienced, ever. Even if she might be exactly what he and his clan need.

Deep Sea Love is a steamy paranormal romance, the second book in the finished Norse Sea Dragons duet. Order it today and dive right into the cold, mysterious waters of Norway!

I read the first one then immediately had to get the second one. It definitely lived up to my expectations and I enjoyed every minute! It was a nice branch off but still held its own story and did not have redundancies or unrealistic (relatively speaking) relationship dynamics.

📚 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Shifter romance, opposites attract

📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Magnus has known to beware of witches since he was a child. So when a young women arrives in his kingdom, and she happens to be a witch, he's immediately on guard. But Nia is just looking for answers. The pair begin an unlikely relationship that may change how witches and Dragons interact.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I'm always pumped for a Shifter book that's out of the norm. So sea dragons definitely scratched that itch. And the added lore and setting was just super awesome.

The first book being 120 pages was a good set up. But this book was much longer and had much more plot. I loved Magnus and how he transformed around Nia. I loved Nia's power and grace.

All around it was a solid duet, and a great escape from real life.

🔮 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲: Easy. The books explain sea dragon culture very well.

    𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

    𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 3/5 🌶🌶🌶

Magnus’s story brings back characters from the previous book and gives a chance to see why Magnus is why the way he is.

Love, acceptance, history and love make a great take worthy. The theme of forgiveness is strong. Wonderful opportunity to share differences exist with this take.

Good story with action, well developed characters, a strong h, and a strong, super hot H, but I just couldn't get into it. The first half of the book seemed to drag on forever. Few typos, medium spice, vanilla dragon shifter romance.

Intriguing story of a sea dragon who falls for a witch. There love story is nice but has too many descriptive sex scenes. No thanks.

    Trigger Warnings
    This book contains:
    • Kidnapping
    • Attempted murder.
    Characters
Nia’s brother went to Norway and instigated a bunch of murder and drama in the previous book. Nia is a completely different type of which to her brother and is just trying to get her families grimoires back, so her coven won’t kill her. Her powers aren’t as strong as her brother, and she doesn’t want anything to do with the mystical world.
Magnus is the brother of the murdered sea dragon from the first book. He’s all seriousness, no fun and just trying to be the best leader he can be to his people while avoiding his murderous mother.
    Storyline
Nia arrives in Norway and runs into Magnus in the bar. The next day she almost literally runs into Magnus while he’s in sea dragon form forcing him to have to intervene to make sure she didn’t expose their secret. Cue being kidnapped and held against her will until Magnus decides what to do with her and whether he trusts her or not.
    Overall Thoughts
The time and acceptance Nia and Magnus experience with each other is profound. Especially given the experiences they’ve each suffered at the hands of the other species. I enjoyed reading them accept each other, test their boundaries and generally grow into better versions of themselves as part of a couple.
My only wish is to have had an ending where we got to see Nia in the archives, doing what she loves and seeing what she might find in there. It’s such a small thing but I really wish that one little thing happened!

I've been waiting for this book with huge excitement, and boy, did it deliver. A grumpy sea dragon king and the fierce woman who'd melt his heart - who could resist?
But Ashwood outdid herself, and I spent most of the book hugging myself in delight.
Nia, a Welsh witch, is on a mission to discover the whereabouts of her missing brother and their coven's spell books. Magnus knows all about the brother - that dastardly villain met a sticky end at the jaws of one of his dragon kin. Not that it makes an easy telling to the woman who gets under his skin.
Nor is she welcomed by the dragon shifter residents of the secret island she stumbles upon. Their only exposure to witches have not been positive.
All which makes for an uneasy romance. Yet true love can't be denied.
I loved the Nordic descriptions, I swooned hard for tender-behind-the-growls Magnus, wanted to hug Nia, and I adored the careful way the plot unfolded without need for big drama. The hero and heroine communicate and sort out their differences. It was refreshing, heart warming, and such fun.
I couldn't recommend Deep Sea Love more.

4.0 out of 5 stars great enemies to lovers

Witch Nia goes in search of her estranged half-brother and finds more than she bargained for. She stumbles in to a world with sea dragons that she thought had died out long ago. She is captured by Magnus, King of his clan. He does not want to hurt her, but he must protect his clan. It turns out his family have caused a lot of pain for her family and they seem like an unlikely match, but they are drawn to each other. I loved how insecure and strong Nia was all at the same time. Magnus was a grump in the first book, but boy did he make you love him in this one. He was so protective, loyal and passionate. There was a lot going on in this story and kept a nice pace, with a lot of love and a nice bit of spice.
