About the author

This London based author was born in the United Kingdom, but reared in Atlanta, Georgia, creating some kind of strange mid-Atlantic mutant. With a history degree and a short stint in the army, Donald is writing the kind of sci-fi that he enjoys.
This UK/US author is currently writing a nine book sci-fi series set in modern times, along with a number of standalone titles set in the same universe. These books are action-packed pulp. Fun for anyone who enjoys explosions, space-battles, and the occasional romance.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2025I have very much enjoyed reading this series and I look forward to more books from the author. Well done
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2024The first book in this series was outstanding! This one was very good, except when the protagonist gets a super smart girlfriend, who then makes a demand of proof of intentions on the part of the friendly aliens and causes death and destruction for the good guys!! Some people can be book smart, but lack common sense on a big scale!!
I eagerly await book three!!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2017The second book picks up where the first one left off. The universe of the story begins to open-up a good bit more, and I enjoyed watching us humans and the crew learning to trust one another, in some very trying circumstances. Also, Sentinel Commander is a bad-ass.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2023That you are reading a story written by more than one person? That those people didn't get together to review the overarching plot or discuss the tone of the story or how the characters behave? That is how I felt after reading chapter 58.
I can get past the less than eloquent language, but chapter 58 was a train wreck. You know which one I mean. It was so full of cringe, I had to push through it to hope it got better. Add in the most stupidest method of creating tension/drama in human-to-alien contact that I was so happy I didn't pay for this book. Who thought narrating the Sentinel Commamder with the worst English has to offer (the f-word) seems like how a robot would talk?
All of a sudden, the main character acted like he was in charge, bossing around the alien crew. Huh? "Maybe we should communicate with them first?" WTF? Whose ship is it anyway? I would have been happy if they all got killed because of that stupid means of creating drama that was so contrived that anyone reading would have given it a facepalm.
Three stars because it is free. I've read worse... and it was free as well.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2022While I am enjoying this series I can only give it 3 stars for little inconsistency’s. For example in one scene the MC has a handgun but in the next he’s given a different one with no explanation what happened to the one he had. Or the MC’s girlfriend (in essence) causes the death of a teammate, yet it’s not mentioned again in the book. She just hugs him, gives him a kiss and says rough day?
I will read book 3 and hope the inconsistencies get better.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2022So the first book was incredibly boring and simple. I made it 40% of the way to this thing and the only thing that happened was the protagonists got a girlfriend. Time to pull the cord.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2021Adored this author's "Standish" series. At 62% of book two I had to punch the jump button. The author is an excellent writer but this is poor story telling. There are no glaring lapses in logic though it's not hard core scifi and the characters don't act against type but it's more a rote recounting than dramatic telling. I think the character's parents would be entertained. I'm dissapointed I just couldn't get invested in what was potentially an excellent story with rich characters. Far more potential here than much of the dreck I find on KU

5.0 out of 5 stars Volume 2 doesnt disappoint.
The story continues, deftly leading you on from the first novel. Great work.
