He must get over those barriers or suffer the consequences.

Eli must gain confidence or get kicked out of his home. Zylen’s teaching has to be successful or he’ll forfeit his boss’s trust. Can Eli pass and cement his relationship with Zylen under intense pressure?

About the authors
Michael Mandrake writes romance with an edge!
He pens complex characters already comfortable with their sexuality. Through these, he builds worlds not centered on erotica but rather the mainstream plots we might encounter in everyday life through personal experiences or the media. - Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2018It was entertaining and interesting enough to make me want to know more about its characters and what will be happening to them.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2019I was totally taken by surprise with book and I look forward reading the other books in the series. In all my life I have never read a book like this and to be honest never thought of demons being so much like humans yes I can see it with Vampires and Shifters but not demons.
Michael and awesome job in writing this story and bringing the characters alive and make you want to know more.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2017This book was way too confusing for someone like myself who is reading this author for the first time. Even though this is labeled as “book one” in a series, there are apparently other books you are supposed to have read first in order to understand what is going on. Even with the glossary at the beginning I felt thrust into a world I knew nothing about and that wasn’t sufficiently explained at any point.
It was also a shock to find out that the main character is a man who raped and murdered women in his past life. I have no interest in reading about, much less rooting for, such a despicable person.
The grammar is also lacking; it really could have used an editor. I didn’t make it very far into the book, because I was just too confused by what was going on and turned off by the main character. I appreciated the trigger warning in the summary, but I don’t feel that the summary accurately conveyed that the main character is such a horrible person, and that you need to read other books before this one in order to understand it.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2017Quick read. Enjoyable.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2017I received an ARC from the author.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, but having a glossary really helped! I learned about Soul Catchers, Keepers, Soul Searchers (zombies), and life in Nouvelle Terre (purgatory ... which just happens to resemble New Orleans.)
(It's strange how your mind works but the first thing I thought of when I read Chapter One was that they numbered their streets like those in Salt Lake City. Something to clutch onto while acclimating to this new world.)
Much like Eli needed to do as a new demon... a fledgling demon.
This book was much darker than those I'm used to so it took a while to connect to Zylen and Eli. The library scene revealed the vulnerably of 'bad guys' and now they need love too.
There are definitely benefits to being a demon...teleporting, reciting words until your clothes dressed, or undressed, you, and reading the minds of others.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2017I love this author and happen to have all books related to N'awlins exotica and I have found about four books related to this series that are not on Amazon. In this book we learn that it's not always good to get what you want. Zylen has a huge crush on Anasa however, Anasa has made it very clear he only has eyes for Valios the Devils son when he drops Eli into his care for training. Mercurio is a snack shift who attempts to get Zylen in bed with a friends with benefits kind of deal however, Zylen turns him down every time. Great read however having the missing books will help you understand how Eli died. Loved it and I received an ARC and voluntarily left a review enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2017This is the first book in The Immortals Series. An interesting book the writing was good. It was all about bad there were no good characters here so interesting. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. The characters were well developed and thought out. Eli and Zylen are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, Vampires, a snake shifter, demons, purgatory, tests, scotch, teachers and so much more in this book.
Here is a quote from the book, “Eli, do you understand why this is your destiny now?” I asked him after finishing the last of my drink. “I think I do,” Eli answered. “We’ll be warriors in sort of a battle for the prominent being.” “Yes. So it should be clear how we do things, right?” Mercurio asked him. “We want to gain the upper hand.”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can recommend as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2017I thoroughly enjoyed reading a book from the perspective of the 'bad guys'. You want to hate them, but you find yourself rooting for them just a bit in this book. You now understand their meaning, their methods and their overall plot. The author does a splendid job at getting the reader to care and be invested in these characters and the world. Demon Be Mine looks like it's shaping up to be a very good series.
