Enjoyed reading this book as much as the previous three and highly recommend that everyone does as well. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Damn Me is the newest addition to Felicity Brandon’s demonology series. This time, the story focuses on Cathy, a guardian of humanity against the powers of darkness, and Satan, the Prince of all Darkness, a truly ancient and powerful evil.

Cathy is no easy push-over, not at all, and this is part of her allure to Satan. She is stronger than most human beings and the push and pull of their forming relationship, his possession of her, is begun. Will he win or will the magic of the guardian send him back to Hell?

Felicity Brandon is one of my go-to, one click, authors. She never disappoints in whatever trope she’s exploring at the moment. Her characters are always well developed and real, her world building is distinct, and her plots are tight and well constructed. If you are into dark romance, truly dark, then she is the perfect for your reading pleasure

Still a good read but for my taste the series is getting a little too repetitive for me. I prefer to not know what will happen next.

Once again we are thrown into the dark underworld in the Demonology series by Felicity Brandon with Damn Me. Cathy Bateman is the Guardian of the Light who succumbed to Damon but was able to cast him out, but in doing so he brought out the wanton side of her. Now Satan wants what Damon had with Cathy. Can he break this woman, have her call him Master and destroy her light as he invades her mind each night to make her his with desire, temptation and lust? Now Cathy is riddled with guilt, asking for guidance from Sevvy, but doesn't tell Sevvy that she has sinned with Damon nor has she told her who is tormenting her now in her dreams and trying to take over her mind and wanting her to submit to him.

With determination, Satan is weaving his spell, forcing Cathy to submit to his will with his wanton ways and with each pull of his darkness, Cathy surrenders to all of the lust and debauchery he brings out in her. But Cathy is still defiant as ever, thinking once he is done with her he will leave so she can continue her work helping souls, but Satan will never let her go. These two are two forces fighting against each other good vs. evil, dark vs. light who will prevail in the end. The more time Satan is with Cathy he knows all of the things he should do to her and be done with it, be he can't as she has left him wanting his Little Guardian. He has no choice he will never give her up so she will be taken to Hell with him. Cathy will soon learn that she can't fight him any longer as she becomes consumed with all of the sexual desire he brings out in her and it is becoming harder for her to resist. Satan is too strong and powerful as she finds her inner light is leaving her. Now she is told he will be bringing her back to Hell with him and all hopes of staying in the world of the mortals is dashed. With one last plea she asks if she can write her thoughts down before they go, so she writes a letter to Sevvy that all hope is lost and she maybe gone forever. We are left wondering why hasn't the other Guardians come to Cathy's aide and help her fight Satan? If Cathy was so feared by the other Princes why couldn't she resist? We are left with more questions, is this the end for Cathy? Now we are introduced to Lucifer, bored and concerned that his master is taking too long with his quest to end the Guardian, why hasn't he returned to the underworld. Lucifer finds he is restless and may want what the others have found a mortal of his own. Now Beezelbub informs Lucifer he might have the right woman for him , intrigued once he views this woman could she be the one for him? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. I guess we have to wait for the next installment to see if Lucifer achieves his desires and what part will Beezelbub play.

For the very first time, I find myself somewhat conflicted over a review rating for one of Ms. Brandon's books.
'Damn Me' is the fourth entry in this series (excluding the prequel 'Resist Me'). I waffled between a 4 or 5 star rating for this one but finally decided on a 5 star despite 2 factors of this book I >personally< didn't care for much.

First, the great: As always Ms. Brandon's writing is hypnotic & immediately enthralling. She simply has the magic ability with words to lure the reader into whatever MADLY mind-spinning world she creates making the reader care about anti-Heroes we shouldn't like, must less come to love. She crafts her world(s) with meticulous care, her plots & most especially, her characters. The reader is given both the anti-H & heroine's POV's allowing them to understand the motivations, goals, fears, insecurities, the arrogance, the Dominance, the submission of each one yet not in one overwhelming blast. Peeks into the character's mind are tantalizingly doled out in bits & pieces, ensuring the reader is kept on tenterhooks throughout the entirety of the book. And while the reader does come to understand the characters, it is sometimes an understanding most unexpected.
Second: What I didn't care for (personally):
    a) Cathy, the heroine. She is descended from a LONG line of Guardians born, raised, trained & educated specifically to fight, repel & triumph over demons. Of any type or level. And she has done this successfully until Damon (in 'Resist Me') exploded her sublimed dark carnal lusts. Now, I have not yet read 'Resist Me' so perhaps something is explained therein not explained in 'Damn Me', & I apologize to Ms. Brandon if that is the case. BUT, I found Cathy a disappointment to me as a heroine. She gave the merest/briefest token resistance to the uber anti-Hero, Satan, in this book. The other heroines (or anti-heroines?) in the other stories were everyday women ground down by life & circumstances; untrained in the demonic, uneducated about the demonic, unaware of the demonic. And thus, their helpless easy fall from grace seemed not only believable but expected. Yet Cathy, except for a few sassy rejoinders & some angry knee jerk thoughts merely gave up without any sincere attempt to fight Satan & accepted as inevitable that her defeat was a foregone conclusion. I would have greatly admired her had she at least ONCE seriously attempted to fight the evil surrounding & claiming her, like the Guardian she was supposed to be. And it truly bothered me how Satan mentioned several times to her he intended to take her 'Light' away, something that he knew was part & parcel of her literal being while she seemed to essentially shrug that loss off.
    b) The length & frequency of the 'internal monologues/musings' of Satan & Cathy. They were a huge portion of this book (& seemed much more so to me than the other books) while dialogues between Satan & Cathy were short as well as few & far between. For me.

So, why 5 vs 4 stars then?
Because >my< personal dislikes are one thing, while bad, indifferent, mediocre writing is another. The first, with VERY rare exception, shouldn't impact my rating while the second definitely would.
In this book, as in all her others, the writing is excellent & well deserving of a 5 star review IMO. As always, Ms. Brandon NEVER provides anything but superb writing & offers only her best & finest efforts to the reader.
And this one did immediately capture, keep & enthrall my interest despite my above 2 points. And THAT said a LOT about the quality of this book to me.
I did care about Cathy, I did wonder where this plot was leading, I was deeply invested in the story & characters. I didn't skip or skim anything & I read it in one straight sitting because I NEEDED to find out what the ultimate resolution would be.
The book's intense angst, s*xual tension, scorching SIZZLE, despair, acceptance, surrender & Dominance easily keep the reader mesmerized, concerned, on tenterhooks, hot & bothered with curled toes & bitten lips. In addition, there is of course, the superlative writing readers have come to appreciate & expect from Ms. Brandon.

All in all, this IS a wonderfully written, deeply emotional & evocative tale of one woman's fall from grace & the beautiful incredibly powerful fallen angel who caught her.
