What an emotional ride Natasha Knight gave me with this story that I don't even know where to begin with. Descent is a new standalone enemies to lovers dark romance with many twisted and turns, secrets, families tragedy, mafia business involved and scorching romance between main characters. Yep, this book has it all and it was one helluva great read. Natasha Knight starter this story with very promising plot and as I go further I need to admit that as always she DIDN'T disappoint with this one. Author gave me all the feels, and chills and whole range of emotions with this awesome book. Hayden and Persephone complicated relationship grab my attention from the beginning. Love and hate mixed together with lust and desire. Yes, I love stories where heroes bantering with each other, when they push and pull back and neither of them give up. They've pump adrenaline into my veins through their love war and I was eagerly absorbing every written word. Both of them are strong heroes. Percy was young but she was a fighter, with strength and sassy mouth she didn't allow anyone to break her. Hayden was dark and dangerous alfa man and one cocky bastard but also protective, carrying and tender on his own way. Their chemistry was raw, primal and out of the charts, but their were lost in the maze of hatred. They've shared common past, and they've had their own reasons to act like archenemies because they were standing in the middle of their families tragedy and everything break them apart. This story was a page turner and I recommend it for every dark romance lovers.

    Without a doubt, Decent by Natasha Knight was one of the best books
    that i have read in a long time.If your a fan of dark, raw stories,don’t
    hesitate to add this book to your favorites list.It took sometime for the
    plot to disclose itself and grab my interest but in no way did this distract
    from the overall storyline.

    The central theme is about a traumatic event on Halloween fives years
    ago that had a devastating affect and changed the the lives of both
    Persephone Abbot and Hayden Montgomery for ever.Hayden is out for
    revenge and retribution and Persephone will be the sacrificial lamb.

    Persephone is living on borrowed time. All that her family owns now
    belongs to Hayden, including herself. He was her savior once but he
    has become her tormentor. He will have revenge and Percy will be
    collateral damage.She owns a part of his heart.She owns a part of his
    soul.He uses her body then cradles her in his arms.The dichotomy of
    emotions clouds her mind.

    Hayden was a character you just love to hate and the surprises just kept
    on coming.So many secrets revealed until they fell into place like a puzzle.
    There are so many layers to this story that will keep you riveted to the last
    page.Percy had suffered so much in her life and i was so glad she found
    happiness in the arms of Hayden.Theirs was a soul deep connection.I loved
    how their relationship evolved into love.They healed one another.

    Ms Knights has the ability to evoke empathy even in her characters darkest
    moments.She has a gift and writes with ease.She is adept at both plot and
    and character development that maintain readers interest.A fascinating read
    and one that i was sorry to finish.I wanted more.

    I always look forward to Natasha Knight's stories. They have just the right amount of darkness mixed with passion, drama and sexiness. There's the alpha male who you want to hate but have a hard time doing do. And Descent is no different. I loved it!!

    Persephone's father has ben in an accident that has left him in a coma. She is trying so hard to keep everything together. They are in danger of losing her house and the family business. Trying to take care of her father and try not to lose everything at the same time is proving tone very difficult/. Enter Hayden Montgomery, her next door neighbor, brother of her best friend and her father's enemy, even if she is not sure why. He comes to her one night and makes her an offer. One she certainly refuses, until she releases that it is the only way. She loses everything or gets to stay in her house and still work for the family business. What's the catch? She is basically selling her should and body to the devil himself.

    Hayden has his own issues with his family. But when it comes to Percy's father, he is seeking revenge on behalf of his deceased sister, who was also Percy's best friend. Five years ago he save Percy from a night that could have totally gone wrong. But now he is back for revenge and to make Percy his. Is she part of his plan for revenge or does he truly care for her? There are so many unanswered questions, some that Percy holds the answers to, until she realizes that there is a big piece of the puzzle that she is missing. She is with him because she has no choice, but in the end will the two of them find love?

    I really loved this book. Hayden is an alpha male through and through but every once in a while you see that heart, you see emotions and you see that he cares for Percy. Together they were intense, raw and they both had a hard time backing down. Percy held her own when it came to Hayden, she managed to fight even if in the end she knew to give in. But she still stood her ground when she needed to. Just as Hayden was there for her when she needed it!!!

    As always Natasha Knight has sucked me in!! I love that this book is dark but it does not cross the line too much. I love the intensity of the characters and the emotions they brought out. It was also great to see a guest appearance from one of Ms. Knight's other characters. I don't know if this is the only book in the series, but I sure hope it isn't. I would love to see Ares' story!!! Another great one by Ms. Knight.

    I want books by Natasha Knight. I crave books by Natasha Knight. I was very late to the party to her work and was able to binge read her library. Then I hit a wall and had to wait just like all of her fans. Boy was that hard. I told her about it as well. Dog years kind of waiting. Not really because she really doesn't make us wait long. I LOVED this book. I loved the twists and turns held within these pages. Lots and lots of twists and turns. That is really fresh and creative storytelling. I loved our gal and I had a lot of book to warm up to our guy. Natasha would insert little gems that would make me like him just a little at a time. The heat level in this book was off the charts. I also loved the connection with another series. This was one really great book. I know it is a standalone but I really hope the brother also has a story and perhaps her sister.     How have I had this on my Kindle for over two years and am just now reading it? I loved this, it almost makes me wish it was a duet or a trilogy. We visited with a few of Ms. Knight’s characters from the Benedetti Brothers, but this story stood on its own.     Ich liebe Bücher von Natasha Knight. Sie ist eine meiner Lieblingsautorinnen und ich fiebere jeder neuen Veröffentlichung entgegen. Descent ist keine Ausnahme, angesiedelt in der Benedetti-Welt, was mich schon super gefreut hat, weil ich Salvatore und Dominic so mochte. Dass Dominic noch eine kleine Rolle gespielt hat, war ein Extrabonus.
    Das hier ist die Geschichte von Hayden und Persephone, die sich von Kindesbeinen an kennen bis etwas passierte, das sie trennte und Hayden auf einen Rachefeldzug schickte, in dessen Ende wieder einmal eine Frau, Persephone, zum Kollateralschaden werden sollte. Alles wird natürlich anders.
    Natasha Knight macht mich wahnsinnig mit ihrer Art, Andeutungen zu schreiben, wenn man genau weiß, es wird sich alles erst am Ende aufklären. Manchmal hätte ich am liebsten in mein Kindle gebissen, weil ich den Satz: "Wir reden morgen darüber" oder "Nein, ich kann es nicht sagen..." nicht lesen wollte. Das macht die Spannung des Buches aus. Auch, dass die Heldin dumme Entscheidungen trifft. Wer bitte rennt mitten in der Nacht auf ein ominöses Telefonat hin in eine verlassene Kapelle? Aber wie gesagt, es wäre keine Handlung, wenn sich alle erwachsen und logisch verhalten würden.
    Eine kleine Kritik habe ich, aber das ist nichts, wofür ich einen Stern abziehen würde. Bei Persephones erster Begegnung nach Jahren mit ihrem Ex-Verlobten Jonas, Haydens Stiefbruder, hat sie tierische Angst vor ihm. Sie zitterte und kippte fast um. Er erscheint wie ein ausgeflippter Schläger und bedroht sie und dann rennte sie am Ende des Buches allein in seine Wohnung, um ihn zu konfrontieren und er ist ein vollkommen anderer Mensch? Ich weiß nicht, ob das gewollt war, aber ich habe in ihm am Anfang einen Bösewicht gesehen und am Ende tat er mir fast leid. So wie es klang, hat er Persephone nicht sonderlich nett behandelt, aber in dieser letzten Szene habe ich angezweifelt, ob ich die Andeutungen richtig verstanden habe, weil da leider nicht konkret gesagt wird, was er Persephone angetan hat.
    Ein absolut empfehlenswertes Buch! Und ich wünsche mir eine Fortsetzung mit Haydens Zwillingsbruder Ares!

    ...Am Anfang der Geschichte sind er 24 und sie 16 und dann plötzlich ist der Altersunterschied nur 4 Jahre?! ...das verwirrt etwas und man merkt sofort den Fehler.
    Dieses Buch gibt einen das Gefühl, dass es in Eile geschrieben wurde; teilweise sind die Handlungen unlogisch aufgebaut.
    Abgesehen von paar Schreibfehler wäre aber die Geschichte nicht schlecht.
