Esha Mehra could have taken care of her father, only if she had some support from her fiancé. But he had his priorities set and her sick father was nothing but a burden. Esha didn't have any other choice but to apply for a loan from her office. But she had not banked on the fact that the Head of Geno Technologies needed her for other reasons.

When
Rohan Sharma, a self-made billionaire, saw Esha for the first time, he felt she was the one. He had no intention of falling in love with her for the pain of the past was still too much to bear. But he did need Esha as a decoy to his plan. But Esha was not a damsel in distress who would bend to his will easily. While he was sure that he would marry her only for six months, he still couldn’t understand why he felt a searing jealousy every time, her ex-fiancé Ayush’s name was mentioned.

While these two souls had other plans in their lives, Destiny conspires to bring them together. But will the stench of Death let them live their lives? Will the contract marriage work?

This book is an out and out love story, a typical romance like the M&Bs I grew up reading. Pick this one only if you are a lover of good romance, strong female characters and men who love them.

Destined is a love story that reminds you of the power of love and why the world loves to read romance, why it is the largest selling genre and why love is not just for lovers but for family, friends and life itself. The author has balanced romance, family and duty in this beautiful book. Yes, beautiful on the inside and out – did you check out the cover?

In spite of a serious topic, that Rubina has brought out in the open the book is a light, flowy read. What plagues our society today - daughters looking after aged or sick parents and how they survive the taunts and discrimination compared to a boy. A love of a parent is unconditional but not so, for a daughter, she must fight for the right to serve and care for her parents. It is as if she marries and relinquishes her claim and love for her parents.

Esha is trying to fund her father’s cancer treatment but fails miserably. Relatives and friends are the first to bail as is her ‘childhood friend and fiancé’ - Ayush. Slowly she realises that she is on her own and asks her company for the loan. Then she finds Rohan, the CEO, drool-worthy, solid guy. Rohan has his own demons to fight but he stands tall around the trouble. Esha finds support and faith with him. The solution was quite simple with the company Esha works for steps in to help her but Rohan has some strings attached to it.

Then there are the fireworks and Rubina does not disappoint. She writes with heart and spunk, her words pulled me in from the first chapter itself and kept me rooting for Esha even though Rohan had my thoughts.

Zaira, the ex is the troublemaker, spewing taunt and innuendos by the minute and Ayush who was to be the golden boy, the best friend turns into a version of her. I thought they were planning it all together such were their negative thoughts. Even though Ayush is sorted out, I felt Zaira could be too. She got off quite lightly for troubling such kind souls.

I enjoyed the tight narration and fireworks between Rohan and Esha. The witty, spunky conversation between the two lights up many a page. Add to Esha’s father who is a ray of sunshine even though he is the suffering making him so adorable. Destined made me happy, made me smile and made me read more. I hope to read many more such books.

Destined is made for enjoying your time as you find a bit of spark, a touch of vulnerability and rocking chemistry within its pages.

When I read the blurb I wasn’t sure how the story would be coz I have read few stories along the same storyline and plot of contract marriage and was wondering how much different could it be but I was surprisingly amazed by the way the story unfolds and proceeds and really enjoyed this story and the plot of this story and how Rubina has added twisted and turns in the story to keep the readers attention. Both the protagonists were very well sketched but personally I was in love with Esha’s character. Even though I really enjoyed the interactions between Rohan and Esha . As the saying going A daughter is your all your life . This story beautifully captured the essence of this quote and a daughter’s love for her father. A huge applaud to Rubina for writing this beautiful and sweet story. Definitely a must read!

Ok. Nothing spectacular. Not sure if I will read another book by this author.
    Three stars for trying.
    Biggest flaw
Its 2017 and a multimillionaire is not ready for a critical meeting with the Japanese. What happened to his team? Or is this a mom and pop shop?

When the burden of pain and the fear of losing your love is bearing upon you, just the presence of someone next to you is too valuable.
Esha’s struggle to be strong as she stood by her father in his battle with cancer and the Deja vu she experiences is heart-wrenching. And trust me, I was so engrossed in her pain that I was shocked at my desire to hit Ayush.
Out of the blue came a marriage proposal, a contractual marriage for six months, meant to benefit her father’s treatment and to remove the complications in Rohan’s life. What they both didn’t see coming (to the delight of my two doppelgangers—the one in white with a halo on top of her head and the one in black with red horns) was the intense attraction between them.
The brewing friendship, companionship, intimacy, and finally love was perfect. Not even a second of dullness. The book holds you to Esha and Rohan’s romance till the end. I and my two doppelgangers loved the romance and their chemistry immensely. With her second novel, author Rubina Ramesh has made me eager to grab her next book.

Destined is a beautiful love story about two lost souls who find solace in one another and continue on to be so much more. This is my first book by Ms. Ramesh and I was enthralled with every page.

Esha was just a young girl, when she had the weighty burden of taking care of her dying mother. Now all these years later, history has repeated itself, when she has the daunting task of doing the same for her ill father. The only disparity, is the responsibility lies heavily on her shoulders. Or so she thought..

Rohan finds himself sympathetic to Esha's plight, but what can he do about it? Other than opening his wallet and throwing away tons of money on a woman he knows nothing about. Unless, he can catch two fish with one worm. Or so he thought..

I highly recommend Destined by Rubina Ramesh, to anyone who loves an extraordinary love story out of the ordinary.

Destined has a slow start but stick with it and you'll be rewarded with a unique story filled with details that are uncommon and interesting. I enjoyed the dance of heat between our two would-be lovers as they both try to navigate uncertain events in their lives. You'll come away rooting for our couple and hoping to avoid anywhere near as horrid of a stepmother.

This was just a feel good read. Filled with lots of romance. Esha is such a loveable character and so real. It's wonderful to feel as if you are walking the story with them. She just wants to pay for her fathers cancer treatment. When the support doesn't come from the one person she thought would help, she enters into a contract with her boss Rohan. As the story went on, I was getting a little anxious because I honestly did not want it to end. You have to read this novel to understand. But it will pull you in and hold you tight. Destiny....is at play.

A wonderful book that has made grimmest of the situations look bright and positive. Though this is a romance, it can be considered as an inspirational book. When all the lights of hope turns dark  even then the spirit to find light kept going on. That is the most stunning factor in this book.
This sheer positivity is so vibrant that it may help everyone overlook choice of words. Like when Esha should have been cantankerous she was described as short-tempered. Short-tempered is nature. Cantankerous is a mood and specific to a situation and time. But who cares? These days authors must write with only common words, readers do not like to fish in a dictionary, though that thing is no more a heavy thick thing but a thing which is too a click away.
Then inconsistencies like Geno Tech being a big corporate why its HR head would speak of clients? How come the HR head would know about exactly which employee doing what task in a project like compiling a client data? Isn't there a PR team or account managers to deal with clients? or at least delivery leads? Then why big? Or, I don't know, probably we're having MSME BIG AND MNC BIG categories these days. Thus, even with a boss having a secy, the HR manager would deal with client meetings. But who cares anyway? The readers would know the world as built by the author. Those who toils in MNCs or MSMEs don't have time to read much. Thus, there's no clashes of interest. Above all, the HR head is the cupid. Without him being the favorite of the boss, the guy meets girl wouldn't happen. The author here magically pulled the strength and created a convincing story. That's the power of grammatically correct English composition with perfectly placed prepositions and articles. Nobody counts missed verbs. Readers never look beyond that.
Plotwise even before Chakraborty mentioned Esha needed money, but just mentioned her efficiency, Rohan knew Esha asked for advance payment, along with the file of Patel. Magical! Here comes again the MNC to MSME comparison and the question about lack of employees' group medical insurance policy with options of family and self coverage. But the smooth storytelling has efficiently covered it all.
Moreover marriage has always been a contract in occidental societies while it is a bond across incarnations in oriental societies. Regarding this and other gender insensitive dialogues the book could have irked feminists and gender politicians. But with the potion of romance the author has covered those issues perfectly like the video of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of you".
The norm of dialogue in novel was not followed. While this is commendable experiment, it affected the smooth reading experience.
Astonishingly at the end (page no. 202) the whole premise of "Rohan meets Esha" is blown. This page totally contradicts what was built up from page 1 to page 201. Yet, it is so eloquently presented that this inconsistency did not matter.
That is why this book deserves the five star. It's an awesome creation, a must read for all romance readers.

    .
"Destined" by Rubina Ramesh is a book which is based on the theme of Love.
"If two hearts are destined together, Love is not going anywhere. "
So, was the story of Esha Mehra and Rohan Sharma.
    .
Esha Mehra, a quiet and an independent girl went for a contract marriage with Rohan Sharma, her boss as well as a man with good status and position, to save her father's life from cancer. The story is one the most fascinating story i came across so far. Every page urges a curiosity of what happens next.
    .
The best part was that it covers few societal issues which every girl has to face during her wedding i.e. to look after her family after her marriage. This was the catchy part of the whole plot and inspiring and motivating too.
    .
Now, coming on the book cover, its attractive and eye-catching. It has a beautiful combination of colors which portrays Love. The title of the book is very well-searched and perfectly suited. The language is simple and easy for the readers to grab. The narration is apt. The pace was good. The characters were put strong. I really like the character of "Esha Mehra".The way she took stand infront of his finacee was commendable and inspiring.
    .
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and will definitely recommend. Do give a try. One will definitely love it.

Rubina is testing us as readers instead of the reverse. She writes about topics subtly but brings about powerful thought process changes. Her writing evokes emotions and questions we seldom ask others or ourselves. Its a pleasure reading her books. She is on a writing spree is a relief. Her next book is soon to be launched.

    What I liked:
Emotions which well up inside you. Each chapter will evoke emotions. It starts with Anxious then Apprehension to Anger bubbling to Hope to Love struck to Peace and then HEA. Rubina is a wizard with a wand weaving emotions and words.

Characters though few stand strong playing their roles perfectly.
What a child bears in his life is based on his parents karma, this concept makes the story. It is beautifully portrayed by the difference in the choices made by Esha's dad and Rohan's dad.

The language is so good and simple. It is making me prose eloquent.

The question: Should a daughter look after her parents post marriage, is well put within the story without it being beat to pulp repeatedly. Subtle introduction to topics, this is what I meant Rubina conquers.

I loved Esha's spunk and her blunt statements or questions. Beauty with brains and right amount of attitude. It suits her perfectly. Zaira's role is perfect too. I liked her remarks. Esha & Zaira both stand on the weighing scale by choosing to marry for money. Who wins?
