The Great Escape (Dilbury Village #2): A heart-warming and hilarious romantic comedy set in a quaint English village Kindle Edition
A tropical Mexican beach is the last place Georgie Basset expects to jump-start her shattered heart. Jilted the year before, she's spent the last year trying to move on from her failed engagement. And when she spots Weston Argent, tanned, sexy, and chiseled, jogging down the beach, Georgie nearly chokes on her umbrella-clad cocktail. Clearly the Greek God out of a modern-day Baywatch scene is her gift to get over the past. And a fling in paradise is exactly what she craves.
But when Georgie returns home to discover Weston in her dog grooming parlor with her favourite breed of dog, she knows fate is playing with her. Despite their undeniable attraction, there is something about Weston that she can't quite figure out.
And when the truth comes to light, Georgie is convinced all men are dogs.
Can Weston convince Abbie otherwise, or will he stay forever in the doghouse?
The Great Escape - A laugh-out-loud novel from Charlotte Fallowfield, whose books have hit the Amazon #1 bestseller charts internationally for Contemporary Romance, Romantic Comedy, and Humour.
While The Great Escape will be a standalone story, it's the second in the Dilbury Village series of romantic comedy novels. All of them will be set in the quaint ficticious English hamlet in the Shropshire countryside, but feature a different village couples' story.
Warning, if you are of a sensitive disposition when it comes to toilet humour, then the Dilbury Village series may not be for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars – Don’t settle for an old pair of slippers!
They say that laughter is the best medicine, and this book was just what the doctor ordered. You know you are in for a doozy of a story when tears of laughter are blinding you by page 8 obscuring your Kindle screen (or your ereader of choice *winks*).
“Chemistry, passion, need, friendship, and love. Every girl deserved to have it all, and not to just settle for old slippers.”
Unlucky in love Georgie has all but given up on finding her own HEA. Once bitten, twice shy! Especially after all she suffered at the hands of ‘He Who Shall Not Be Named’ – personally, I can think of a few choice names for that one, but as you all know I’m a lady *snorts*
Romance is the last thing on Georgie’s mind when she jets off on a girls’ holiday with her bestie, Abbie. Yet, she can’t help but be drawn to the drool-worthy God-like specimen of a man that runs on the beach each morning. It’s been a while since someone of the opposite sex has had the ability to make her hormones sit up and go ‘hello!’. And it seems as if his hormones are waving hello back…
Following a very memorable date on said holiday – for all the wrong reasons - the last person Georgie expects to turn up at her doggie salon in Dilbury is Weston, along with the most adorable French Bulldog in tow. As they take tentative steps towards building a relationship together, Georgie can’t help but feel that Weston is keeping something from her. For a girl with trust issues, this is a huge red flag.
Once secrets are revealed, can Weston convince Georgie that nothing is insurmountable, and their HEA is worth fighting for?
“You’re it, you’re the one that comes along once in a lifetime and I don’t want to lose you.”
It wouldn’t be Dilbury if there weren’t calamities galore. Chock full of belly-laugh inducing moments, and I’m pleased to report that my gag reflex is still alive and well *smirks* Three words – hashtag turdgate two *shudders*
But, you want to know what I love most about these stories? It’s the heart the author puts in each one. I love this motley crew of characters – there is nothing they won’t do for each other to ensure they all get the HEA they deserve. Friends truly are the family we choose for ourselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious
Was just as good as Never The Bride. I can’t seem to put this series down. This author has a way with words that makes me laugh out loud. Though so far in both books I wanted to slap the female leads for just being stupid. Then again the humour throughout is what made this really enjoyable. But make your own decision.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read with funny bits here and there. Not the same lol as never the bride.
I read a review that said this book was funnier than book one. Well I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed, but it wasn’t anywhere near as funny as never the bride. There is funny stories here and there, as long as you read this not expecting it to be the same then you won’t be disappointed. It is a really good story and a good book. So don’t go into expecting the lol tears rolling down your face experience you’ll really enjoy this. I’d still would love to be a part of their group!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read hilarious book
This is the 2nd Visit to the Quaint village of Dilbury, this time it's Georgie's story, and if you think book one was funny, just wait till you read this one. When you think Charlotte's books can't get any funnier you are sadly mistaken. have tissues on hand you will need them!
The story between Georgie and Weston has you laughing tears of laughter, of joy and sadness all on a loop, there was one scene at her parent's house that not only did I need tissues to wipe my eyes but water for my dry throat as I was laughing so much. I loved Georgie in book one, and love her more now and Weston is adorable.
With this series by Charlotte you are not just reading a book, you are feeling it as if you are there as a bystander, oh and how I would love to attend one of Dilbury Fetes, the characters come alive and you are part of it. Although it's a standalone you are advised to read book one first so you get acquainted with the characters.
Well done Charlotte on yet another fantastic book, laughter from cover to cover, as always 5 stars are just not enough, looking forward to book three now xx
