Catherine Kullmann was born and educated in Dublin. Following a three-year courtship conducted mostly by letter, she moved to Germany where she lived for twenty-five years before returning to Ireland. She has worked in the Irish and New Zealand public services and in the private sector. She is married and has three adult sons and two grandchildren.

Catherine has always been interested in the extended Regency period, a time when the foundations of our modern world were laid. She loves writing and is particularly interested in what happens after the first happy end—how life goes on for the protagonists and sometimes catches up with them. Her books are set against a background of the offstage, Napoleonic wars and consider in particular the situation of women trapped in a patriarchal society. She is the author of The Murmur of Masks, short-listed for the 2017 CAP Awards (Carousel Aware Prize for Independent Authors), Perception & Illusion and A Suggestion of Scandal, shortlisted for BooksGoSocial Best Indie Book 2018.

Catherine also blogs about historical facts and trivia related to this era. You can find out more about her books and read her blog (My Scrap Album) at www.catherinekullmann.com

If you like a story told with well really written dialogue, this three book series is for you. If you like HEAs achieved after the characters face and overcome understandable and believable challenges, again, this series is for you. If you like characters who act like real people who can recognize their mistakes, own their weaknesses, and work to overcome them, you will enjoy reading this series.

My favorite of the three novels was the shortest of them, The Duke’s Regret. Once again, Ms. Kullmann takes a popular romance trope, that of the arranged marriage, and gives it a realistic twist. I have loved her take son l the

I am so glad I discovered Catherine Kullmann’s books. I just wish I’d done so sooner and had read them in the right order.

This is a selection of 3 stories from the Regency-Georgian period of married couples who have difficulty making a life together because of either societal pressure, or just the problems when people marry for business rather than affection or love.

I find myself mimicking her characters as I follow along their story. Her books are a little fantastical, but she brings the reader into her stories. All of her characters are so well described I feel they are real people and that all could have happened.

Wonderful. I like the slightly lower but sure pace, the rhytm of the stories is low and humming. The author crosses every T ond dots every I, and its so satisfying that no threads are left hanging. I find it slightly difficult to follow the relationships, the family trees crossing between the different families, I guess it takes a second reading. The characters are well rounded and not only the principal ones, and the stories are mature

I enjoyed the series. The heroines and heroes as well as the other characters were multifaceted and relatable. The plots were interesting and fast-paced. Unputdownable! I didn't get much sleep last night.

I found myself reading more and more slowly as I came to the end, as I’ve now finished all Ms Kullmann’s novels. Her writing is an absolute joy to read and I hope she is working on a new one.

As smooth and satisfying as a minuet, a subtle balance of high style, proper manners and passionate transgression. Also a treasure trove of Napoleonic erudition and sophisticated vocabulary.
