    This book tugged at my heartstrings, and I can’t shake these characters. I’m more than itching for book 2. I fell in love with Lennon and her quirky nerd talk and random facts. I wish I had a best friend even half as cool as Dylan, and I want stories from Tate and Shaun immediately. Yesterday. Right now. Dean is sexy as heck and the chemistry between him and Lennon is perfection. I love stories that have big families, and this book has that dynamic down. I mean, a cul-de-sac with college best friends who have kids close to the same age who are also best friends? Not to mention the backstories of those parents…. I need to know more! I laughed, I sobbed, I got angry a few times, and my husband has listened to a play by play of nearly ever chapter. Read this, you won’t regret it!

    Totally not what I was expecting and reminds me to not judge a book by its cover (not a fan of cover art). The first chapter hooked me in immediately. The middle was a little drawn out but I fell in love with all the characters. The build up of their friendship dynamic was well written. The drama in the story was not OTT (except the ending) and cannot wait to read the next books. I hate cliffhangers, but thank goodness the other two books are out already. Otherwise, this would have been a three star rating.

This story man...it grabbed me by the throat at 5% into it (1/2 way through the first chapter) and it never let go. When I couldn't read anymore because my eyes got heavy, I dreamed of the characters. The dynamic five is what I called them in my head and the growing pains were difficult to read. But wait...there's more. Carina gives us a multi layered, deep yet also light in certain moments, story that had me laughing, sighing, clutching my throat, shaking my head and sobbing like I just lost my closest friend. Not your typical boy next door story but a nuanced coming of age and falling in love story that has real life situations woven throughout. Yes it does end on a cliffhanger and I, for one will wait patiently for the second book because the story is worth it
