Shane O’Rourke screws up. He has the best intentions, but doesn’t always think things through. He means well, really he does. About Brina Brady

From the streets of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, where I ruled as the eldest of five siblings, my life’s journey has been an adventure. After marrying my partner, we started a family and welcomed three amazing daughters into our lives. In 1973, the waves called, and we answered—moving to the sun-kissed beaches of sunny Huntington Beach, California. It was a dream come true.

Later, I married my loving second husband, and when family called, we packed up and headed to Indiana. Retirement opened a new chapter for me, filled with the laughter of my four adorable grandchildren and the company of two sweet cats. It’s a life full of love and completed goals.

For twenty-seven years, I taught at a Continuation High School in Los Angeles, California, where I shared my passion for learning with my students. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Secondary Social Science Credential, and a master’s degree in Secondary Reading and Secondary Education from California State University, Long Beach. I also took creative writing classes at UCLA, which helped fuel my love for storytelling.

Speaking of storytelling, I’ve been hooked on it since I was a kid. As a child, I’d spend Saturday afternoons writing novels while sipping on my grandmother’s homemade, comforting chicken soup. Even as a busy stay-at-home mom, I made time to write every day—it was my escape and my joy. Later, while teaching, I kept writing, though the demands of the classroom meant I had less time to devote to it.

Today, I’m a contemporary romance author who loves writing LGBTQ+ stories. My books often explore complex relationships and emotional journeys, with several series diving into BDSM dynamics. I also write MM romance without BDSM themes, focusing on engaging plots, well-developed characters, and plenty of steamy moments.

When I’m not writing, I’m indulging in my other passions. I’m an avid reader, always getting lost in new worlds and characters. I also love graphic design, where I get to blend art and technology to create something beautiful. And when it’s time to relax, I’m hooked on Turkish TV series—their rich stories and cultural depth totally captivate me. Each of my hobbies reflects my love of creativity, storytelling, and exploring new horizons.

    "Don't throw me away," Shane whispered, to himself.

    I love it when the second book in a series is as good if not better than the first. For me, this was even better than Bend Over.

    We pick up shortly after where book one left off. I loved Julien in this book! It's funny, I didn't like him at all in the beginning of book one. Now, he's my favorite character. I loved seeing him grow in this one. He figured out his mistakes and set out to correct them. His love for Shane is obvious. He wants to take care of him in every way, but is also understanding Shane is young and will make mistakes.

    Young Shane gets himself in trouble again. Afraid of Julien finding out, he makes matters worse for himself in a big way. It's easy to get frustrated with him but then I remember he's only 19 years old. He wants so much to be good for Julien. He wants to please him, make him happy and be the best sub Julien could ask for. Julien gives him everything he needs. He is helping him learn to deal with his problems the right way and not with drugs. He pays for his college and lets him work at one of his clubs to be independent and earn some of his own money.
    But as usual, something always seems to get in the way of their progress. This time besides the lies and rule breaking, it's a couple of different people trying to ruin their relationship.

    These two are really good together and for each other. Neither is perfect, both make mistakes. But they belong together and you can't help but root for them.

    The author gives us an awesome story line with many obstacles in their journey toward their HEA.

    Just the right amount of angst, lots of exciting twists & turns, and hot lovin'.
    Also met some new characters in this one. And I'm excited to learn more about them.

    Wow. Just Wow. I adore Julien. He is everything a Dom should be; loving, kind yet firm, patient yet doesn't compromise. With Julien around, every boundary is clear which is great because Shane needs all that and a bit more with his youthful flighty ways. This couple is perfect for each other. They both make a complete picture...like a jigsaw puzzle. Alone, they are in a way incomplete. Yes, they function but not thrive. The story is more than a sizzling hot erotica.     This is the second book in the Bend over series. Shane has returned to California and is living with Julian again. Things are going good for the two of them. Shane is about to receive his collar and belong to Julian for good. There is nothing that Shane wants more than to be owned by Julian. But it seems not everyone wants Shane to be Julian’s sub.

    Shane has started to mature some, he no longer steals or does drugs. He is determined to be the best he can for Julian. But when Shane makes a bad choice things just keep going down hill from there. Will Shane be able to keep his collar? Will Julian believe Shane if not can he learn to trust Shane again?

    I really enjoyed the continuation of the story from book one. The Author did a great job with Don’t Throw Me Away. Her writing style is unique from other BDSM books which keeps you hooked. The story flows great. I was able to connect even more with the characters in this book than the first. She takes you on an emotional roller coaster in the reading process. One minute I’m loving their playful banter and the next my heart is breaking for the two of them. I can’t wait to see how Julian and Shane’s journey continues in the next book.

    If you have read Bend Over book one in the series then you definitely want to read Don’t throw Me Away by Brina Brady.

    I loved reading the progression of Julian and Shane's relationship. Trial and error, Shane does his best, but he is with lots of doubt and that leaves him to make not so smart decisions. I appreciated Julian not being shown flawless, and that he can recognize his mistakes. I despise Joe and I'm not fond if Dario. I do love Shane though and hope they can work through all the bad stuff. They are so worth it, and the bdsm component is spot on!!! Well done Brina!!

    This book deserves 10 stars plus, Brina has taken the the story of Julian and Shane to the moon and back and than some. The story continues with Julian collaring Shane in their ceremony. But Shane as Shane does gets into trouble with a fellow sub..With other trouble brewing around them not all goes well the further you read. I cant rate this highly enough, its a MUST read. I'm looking forward to book 3..

    Shane is a long way from home with no one to care or help him. He happens to set his eyes on a beautiful black man. For some would say Shane is almost like white trash but there is something in him that Julien his Dom just can’t get enough of.
    Shane has a history and a hard time staying away from drugs and lying. One can hope that his love and trust in his Dom can help he overcome all his fears and hopefully open up and be one with Julien.
    This is a must read and I can’t wait for book 3 to continue their story of love, hate, trust, loyalty, obedience, self hate and discuss. Can love heal old wounds or will his life be shattered again by ones he loves and trusts.
