- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseArsenals of Death is the second book in the Doomsday War series and was a good read inasmuch as it kept me engaged till the end. However, it does have its weaknesses with regards to some of the plot-lines that feel at times contrived. These handy contrivances get them out of more than a number of jams and that's not ok, particularly when readers pay good money to purchase the book in the first place. Plots need to be at least believable and make sense. It gives readers the feeling the author has written the book on the fly without having a comprehensive plot outline. That said, the book is by no means bad. I like the characters, the tension in the battle at the end was gripping and I was batting for the good guys to win. If readers look at this book as one written for pure entertainment - a light read while on a commute to work or a holiday read - then this book does the job nicely. Am now reading third book in the series :)

- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSecond in row and if review is familiar, that’s because it is. How I got caught with two stories of this genre with same political agenda, lucky me.
Ever wonder — why people — humans — Earthlings — after leaving Mother Earth and get their own planets, they’re usually this genre’s good guys. Colonists are beaten down by oppression from Earth politics and Earth mega corporations. They epitomize the American Revolutionist and they’re the embodiment of current politics — Enlightened, Diversified, overall Intelligent and Brilliant with impeccable moral compass. Their planets victimized by Earth and mega evil corporations that treat them as Slaves.
Author continues the consensus SciFi genre portrayal of Earth as generally evil, power hungry, corrupt, arrogant, environmentally ignorant, lack enlightenment, diversity is unacceptable , Earth population intelligence goes down continuously over time, Blah - Blah - Blah. PC and SJW times minus ten.
This story, book, revenue stream is a beacon of genre’s Political agendas. A caught Hacker is turned to become fleet. She, and other sleepers of da revalootshun — are dual, triple agents. Last third of story was a muddled mess of inconsistencies. The battles were a confused mess lacking detail that made sense. The author decided to focus on his agendas.
APOLOGIES. JUST SICK AND TIRED of this entire genre’s authors reaching into their PC, SJW bags over n over again for plots, sub-plots w Earth as the root cause of anything bad.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unrealistic characters
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe universe setting is good, the technology well thought out. The battles well described and reasonable. On the whole the overall story is good. What I did not like, and will mean that I will not buy the sequel, is that the character actions did not make sense. The author has concentrated too much on what he needs to get done rather than why the characters do what they do. So alliances change too simply and other actions get done on far too little reasons.
