Drawn to You (A Beyond the Cove Novel Book 1) Kindle Edition
Jake has worked hard for the life he’s made for himself in Brighton Pier. His life as a bachelor is pretty set in stone. Running his own business and spending time with his family and friends is enough for him, or so he’s convinced himself. Though he’s met a man he cares for, he’s adamant about keeping his single life as is. He has his reasons for not wanting to commit to the beautiful man he’s irrevocably drawn to. He just hopes their friends-with-benefits arrangement will be enough to keep Eli in his life.
When tragedy strikes, and Jake’s world is turned upside down, his instincts lead him to lean on the one person who’s become someone special, despite his best efforts to try and push him away. Eli—unable to turn Jake away when a loss so great takes the strong man to his knees—steps selflessly into the void in Jake’s life, regardless of the toll it takes on him. As both men struggle to deal with their own emotional turmoil, their lives veering off course, they grow inevitably closer as the days pass. But even so, they are still left wondering—can two people, drawn together by tragedy, turn a devastating situation into a fresh start? Or is it too late for a new beginning?

About the author

I have been an artist from a very young age. From drawing cartoon characters and evolving into portraits, making jewelry, photography, and now writing. I have an amazing support system in my family and friends and couldn’t be more grateful.
I live in central New Jersey, love summers at the Jersey Shore, rock music, wine, sexy men, and laughing a lot with my amazing friends and family. Sunday dinners at my parents’ house are crazy, hysterical and you can count on a movie quote…or ten…being thrown out. Insults between siblings is how we show our love for each other!
When I’m not creating, you can find me reading books from my favorite authors. I’m a hopeless romantic, starving for passionate characters and always craving that happy ending, whether in reading or in writing my own books.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2020This is a second time through for me with this book, and it's one well worth the repeat visit. I won't litter the review with plot spoilers. I will say that this novel will leave footprints on your heart in the best kind of way. Eli inspires me with his strength, his steadfast, loyal nature, and that huge heart that beats in his chest. I relate to Jake in so many ways its uncanny..the way his life has shaped his fears and insecurities and the dynamic it creates between the two main characters, his loyalty, and all the pain he tries so hard to find. This book is sad, funny, smoking hot, endearing, well-written, and memorable. I cried, laughed out loud, and rooted for (and against) each of these characters with every turn of the page. Read it...and then read it again. It's worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2020When tragedy makes you really open your eyes to the love that is right in front of you. When working together to save everything turns into love. Sometimes you need a little push to get to your HEA and it was enjoyable to watch. I love when kids are involved. Because let’s face it not everyone is childless. Watching them navigate that was fun, and the kids didn’t distract from the story. The writing was great, the smexy was hawt, and the side characters where very entertaining. Can’t wait to read about the other characters
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2018So I've finished this book at 1am this morning and I wanted to review it right away but went to bed instead because I thought that a good sleep will help me write down a review that will do this book justice. So here I am at 6pm with still no words but I'll try to do my best 😉
This book was an emotional rollercoaster. It had me crying like a baby, laughing my head off and feeling butterflies in my stomach. I love Jake and Eli. These two man will steal your heart from the very first chapter. I loved Jake's heart with wanting to do the right thing even when he doubted himself. I HATE his parents. And Eli ; that man has the biggest heart. I loved how he stepped up even when he thought he was only set to be pushed back by Jake. As the story develops you get to understand why Jake is the way he is when it comes to relationship. I was loving how much he was trying to make Eli see that he was it for him.
Jaclyn Quinn is one talented author. She was my first MM read at the beginning of this year and I've been the BIGGEST fan ever since. If you haven't read any off her books you need to do that now. I super excited to see what she has in store for us next and to see her become one of the best author in MM romance.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2024I went into this one thinking I would hate it. I know you shouldn’t judge a book and yada yada. Wow! HAVE I EVER BEEN PROVEN WRONG SO FAST! I cried, laughed and surprisingly fell in love with Jake. After seeing how his parents treated him of course he was afraid of the real thing. This book broke me down and rebuilt me with each turn of the page. Dangit I felt like I was there at the end! I cannot wait to read the entire series!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2019This is the first book I have read from this author. I am so glad I picked it up.
So much sadness happens in this book as well as loving, teasing, grieving and at one point I want to smack two people clear out of book! OMG! Evil incarnate.
My emotions were out through the ringer while reading this and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Such a wonderfully written story. Jake and Eli are amazing together. Their road was very bumpy at times but I always held out hope for them.
Have tissues ready.
I am now off in search of the next in this series. I have to find out whose story is next.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2018I loved this story. Eli and Jake are compelling characters. Eli wants more from Jake than he is willing to give. Jake pulled away from Eli after meeting his family and thinking that he wasn't good enough for Eli. Eli is tired of being hurt and feeling bad the morning after. Jake keeps coming by, but Eli needs to move on.
When tragedy strikes, Eli is there for Jake even if he knows he will get hurt. Jake has hit rock bottom and is in extreme emotional turmoil. Eli is there to help hold him together. He needs a helping hand as he struggles to keep his family together.
I really enjoyed this story and will be reading it again. I cried a few times over everything that goes on, but love how everything works out in the end.
I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest opinion and review.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2020This was a wonderful book about family and friends but also loss and being worthy of love.
I loved Eli from the start and quickly discovered why Jake was acting like an idiot. Jakes nefews Dylan and Nick are just adorable and my heart ached for them and Jake.
It was easy to get into the book and the people in like the people Elis work with at the tattoo studio, Jakes brothers neighbours and Elis family. There's so much potential for lots of books here!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2022This was not a normal read for me. I skimmed the summary, bought it, then just let it sit in my kindle library for awhile. I’m so glad I finally read it. The MC were both great. I felt drawn during the first chapter. The side characters are great. Can’t wait to read more! Definitely suggest trying it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally loved everything about this!
Jonah’s brother, Elijah Taylor, loves his job as a tattooist but he’s sleeping with the boss who never wants to commit to a relationship and Eli is beginning to want more. Maybe it’s time to call it quits. Jake likes sleeping with Eli but he can’t bring himself to say how he really feels about Eli. Suddenly tragedy strikes and Jake find himself raising his brother’s two boys but dare he ask Eli for help?
This angsty family romance had three big juicy themes: Jake’s fear of commitment, Jake’s parents’ homophobia and hatred, and Jake and Eli’s struggles as new parents. Jaclyn Quinn does a superb job of exploring each of these issues without it being depressing - she has a way of contrasting the sadness with genuine moments of humour and tenderness that work perfectly together. US voice artist extraordinaire Kirt Graves channels the pain and the love so well here! (Currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue)

Beautiful story, well write. A beautiful family!
I loved all the characters. A heart touching read. Would have loved it if it were longer, but that's just me being greedy :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A great balance of love and emotion
This book was a surprise, it started off as a flirty story with steamy sex scenes between two characters and then comes the suckerpunch twist that hits you like a hammer. Suddenly the story becomes about grief, loss and is absolutely heartbreaking. This book cleverly balances the sadness and manages to keep the steam between the two MC's. I could feel the emotion; it was beautiful how their relationship developed. The relationship with the children was believable and the subject matter was sensitivity written. I loved the secondary characters and can't wait for Avery's story. There is homophobia mentioned from family members and the book has some angst due to this but also due to the tragedy that takes place in the story. The epilogue was perfect and gave a definite HEA. I was totally taken by surprise by this book, I just wasn't expecting it to capture me like it did. It's 5 stars because I feel I've gone through so many emotions.

I wasn’t expecting this story to be such a sweet emotional story!
Jake and Elijah have been in a friends with benefits arrangement - even though Elijah wants more and is constantly hurt by Jake’s actions.
When Elijah goes home to visit his family, and get away from Jake to clear his head, tragedy hits and Jake’s brother and sister in law are killed in a car accident - leaving their two young sons behind. Elijah immediately goes home to support him, despite his heartbreak.
Jake figuring out how to be a parent and support his nephews through their grief, while going through his own was so sad. Elijah did his best to be supportive but eventually started to pull away. Finally, Jake figures himself out and realises he can’t be without Elijah and lets his guard down. It was so very sweet.
It had some great spice, both rough parts in the beginning and also tender and sweet.
““You’re not here right now because you’re convenient.” Jake took a deep breath. “You’re here right now because I don’t want to lose you.”
