HARLAND
The music calls to me. It’s part of me and entwined with my soul. It’s always been my dream to follow the music where it leads me. I’m hoping it’ll be to a big break, but so far, it hasn’t been going too well.

I wasn’t expecting my music to lead me to Ophelia, but I need a place to play and she’s new in town to manage her uncle’s bar. She gives me a chance, even though she doesn’t have to. I’m just grateful to be near her because the moment I saw her, I knew my dreams brought me to the woman who is meant to be mine.

When my music leads me out of town, what does it mean for the woman who fuels my muse and my heart? What happens when my big break comes knocking? I don’t want to leave her behind, but I’m not sure I can convince her to dream a little bigger with me. Is there a way for me to get everything I want without leaving Broken Road and Ophelia?

OPHELIA
I’ve always been told to dream bigger, but a simple life where I know my worth and who I’m headed home to at night is more my style. I have no use for broken promises and big cities. It’s what led me to take my uncle up on his offer to move to Broken Road and manage his bar.

I thought I’d settle in and find my rhythm. Then Harland bursts through the doors and begged for a chance to make his own dreams come true. As much as the promise of love I see in his eyes is real, he has bigger dreams than me.

I love the stars in his eyes, but they scare me. His dreams can’t come true in Broken Road. I can only hope, when he gets everything that he’s been working for, my heart isn’t broken under his boots as he walks away. Are his dreams all or nothing or can we find a way to get everything we want?

    Harland and Ophelia were such a great and sweet couple.
    I loved that Ophelia was so set and determined to see Harland's dreams come true. Even if it meant that their relationship ended before it ever began.
    However, that also was a issue for me. Ophelia was so set and determined to give Harland his dreams she never thought to put herself in them. She thought she could never get the kind of dreams she wanted because living the life of a musician is anything but simple. She kept going hot and cold in the relationship with Harland because she couldn't help but want to be with him while he was there, but at the same time she held off a lot thinking Harland never noticed because she didn't want to stand in the way of Harland.
    But overall I really enjoyed the story. When we were first introduced to Harland I kind of wondered what part and where her previous characters would come in. Pretty much every book this author writes has ties to either characters from previous books or in set in the same city/town as previous books.

    Harland dreams of making a living from his music but life has gotten in the way, when Ophelia moves to town and Harland meets her he finds his music again but he also knows he has found his one. Ophelia is afraid to dream of a future with Harland because she knows he has talent, but Harland shows her they can both get their dreams together in this sweet read.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this story about a woman who didn’t know where she wanted to be but that she needed a change and a man who found his way back to his music and his dream. To find that the path that needed to be taken by either of them involved both of them taking that path together. Loved the scenes with Dante, the sheriff, and the security expert. The world can be a small place, even in Texas!

    We finally get Harland's book and it was so worth the wait. Ophelia and Harland were wonderfully sweet still a little bit of heat and drama. Ophelia and Harland are exactly who the other needs in their lives. These two have a little bit of a bumpy road but Harland is not going to let his dream out of his arms for anything and they get a really sweet HEA.

    Harland and Ophelia are perfect for each other! They are each a bit lost and need each other to get back on the path. Ophelia helps Harland get back his music groove and he helps her find her place not just with him but her life. So love seeing the Denver music and tattoo family back!

    Dreams From Broken Road by Ember Davis is part of the multi-author Everything's Bigger in Texas series. This story touched my heart in a way I was not expecting and I charmed, delighted and moved by the story and the characters. Harland Sanders is a talented musician and song writer who was born and grew up in Broken Road, Texas. He had dreams of making his music his life but the last few years he has lost his spark and is unable to finish any song that he starts to write. Ophelia has moved to Broken Road from the big city of Chicago, where she was born and raised, after graduating college to manage her uncles bar. She wants a simple and quiet life and believes she has found it in Broken Road. One of the things she does to the bar is to have her three older cousins, all who work at the bar, build a stage so that there can be local talent on the weekends. Harland's dream may be closer than he ever thought when he meets Ophelia. But will her dream and his be able to life in the same space between them?
