About the author

Lulu M. Sylvian writes sexy hot paranormal romance where the magic is just around the corner and out of sight, until you know what you're looking at. Her stories include everything from ridiculous male strippers, ghosts in search of resolution, and shifters with action and suspense.
Bio-engineered to be the only redhead in a generation of blonds, Lulu feels that “aliens” may actually be the best answer for a lifetime of being asked, “Where did you get that red hair from?”
She did not come into writing from years of scribbling words on paper. Her background is rooted in visual arts and making pictures. Encouraged to make those pictures out of words Lulu began writing just to see what would happen. What happened opened some portal that now allows characters to stroll right up to her and demand their stories be written. They move into her head rent free until Lulu transcribes their love lives onto the page.
Lulu cannot ride a horse, a motorcycle, spin a hula hoop, or play roller derby. Yes, she has attempted all of those, even if it has been decades since she's been on a horse or a motorcycle. She embraces the crazy that comes with that one little genetic mutation and attempts to live up to the reputation that proceeds her. Lulu would like to apologize for her contribution to the hole in the ozone layer from her use of hairspray in the 1980’s.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2020Julia and Roman are perfect for each other. They are both strong Alphas and work as a team. Most of the time there is one alpha in the relationship but rarely two. They make it work and seem easy while doing it. Another good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2018For a second time, Ms. Sylvian has caught lightening in a bottle with her Legatum wolf shifter romance series. Julia Palatine, sister of Morgan from the first book, has fought tooth, nail, and sometimes claw to climb both the ladders of business and pack life. She has avoided romantic entanglement for most of her life, fearing that a partner would expect her to humble herself to make him feel strong. But now her second nature is trying to tell her she's met her perfect match, and she doesn't want to hear it. Roman Aventine is the unofficial leader of her family's centuries long rival pack, and as fierce a businessman as he is a smooth talking charmer. He sees the signs as well, and he is determined to earn his way into Julia's heart and life.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2024We get a glimpse of the couple for this book (Julia and Roman) in book one, Protective.
I honestly really enjoyed the introduction to Julia and Roman's story, and I thought they had a lot of great chemistry. Thier situation was realistic and had a lot of great natural tension with them being business rivals and rival wolf shifter families.
There were some things Julia did that were a frustrating. For being a 'queen B Alpha' she doesn't pick up on what's happening around her, like with the shifter from Canada, and not realizing the angle of the South African shifter Alpha. Then at the end when Roman has a major family event she kind of made it all about her (in my opinion at least)
While I've really enjoyed the stories in this series, this one wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the means. It was still a fun read, and the main couple had a lot going for them.
*This series is a medium/low spice paranormal romance with fated mates, a bit of the fluffy side!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2023ALPHAS Times 2 is a good way to look at both Julia and Roman. In this culture women are not usually an Alpha. Julia put all those myths to bed cause she was fierce, strong, smart and hot!!! You can tell by All the men's reaction to her from the onset of meeting her. She and Roman were investigating species and genetics for their respective families. Roman had more than that he was interested in. Julia just needed to get on board for the ride (in more than one way).
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2019Even though I was lost in the science terminology, I was in love with Roman and Julia’s story.
Two family that have feuded since the beginning of time are trying to make alliances with each other. When the Alpha refuses to she that Julia is a true female Alpha his son steps in to the negotiations to get things running smoothly. But can they? Will two strong Alphas be able to work together? Will Julia’s Alpha dominance let her see Roman’s true intentions?
I love this and can’t wait to read next story in this series.
I was given this book in exchange for and honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2019Two loves, two families, two deeply rooted rivalries, one cause – protect.
Roman was wonderful as he stalked Julia and yet let her be independent and confident. I loved how strong Julia was and how she knew when to be a graceful business woman and when to be a spicy alpha woman. The story line and action was great, the main characters as well as the secondary characters were well developed. Having so much going on really kept you clued in to the everyday issues as well as the building romance. It was enjoyable to have a story that was enhanced by the romance and not a romance that was made into a story. There are a lot of threads and plenty of room for future storylines.
Minor spoilers included....
I did have a little issue with Julia’s ability to sense the really bad people versus people that just were just off putting. But I’m going to blame that on the fact that she was also ignoring her feelings for Roman. The ending was just the topper to this family versus family rivalry. When Roman decided enough was enough and started telling the family secrets - you know you are going to not only want to read Driven, but also the next book.
Driven was the second in the Legatum series. However, it was a stand alone and I didn’t feel that I missed anything by not reading the first in the series.
