    I wasn't so sure about this book at first. The Duke's kink was not something I really get, but to each his own. At times I felt he was irrational, abusive, and weird AF with the kitten thing. This book is not one to put down. It is on fire. I mean flaming hot like the earth's core. Do not read if you aren't open minded and don't like sex scenes and don't think to have everything accurate. Not something I'm into, but I did like it.

    What happens when your life circumstances changes and you will do whatever it takes to survive, Jemima has to make that decision and when you are basically given to a Duke who lives a recluse life you make the most of it. What Jemima doesn’t realize is that the Duke has also had his own heartache but can the two of them find comfort in each other or will it all be just the arrangement she agreed too. You will watch this connection develop and see how they truly are fantastic together but will the past dictate their future.

    I have never read a historical romance with this trope before. Interesting concept, and very good story for the most part. I felt like the climax kind of came out of no where however and didn’t really fit with the rest of the story. The epilogue really pulled things back together vibe wise.

    This story was erotic nearly from the start. Unfortunately,it took most the book for them to actually deal with her virginity. It was an interesting story that certainly focused on the The Duke and his relationship with his Kitten Jemima. It was full of all sorta of potential, like it would have been fun if the Duke had actually gotten caught with his naked kitten out walking, but the whole tree climbing thing was imaginative, ha ha. Or if the Duke had a thing for exhibitionist and had his pet perform ... But alas it was a story that actually only really involved the two main characters, three rooms, a hall/stairway, and an outdoor walk to a grotto, once the main characters meet. I gave it four stars because it could have been more I felt. Still an entertaining read.
