- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2017I’ve read all in this series of “Englishwoman…” and have thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. This one didn’t disappoint either. You’re thrown straight into the story, and it’s fast paced from then on, and never a lull in the story. Strong characters and always a thought provoking story line. I’m not sure if there will be any more in this series, but I will definitely read any new releases from this author.

Another delightful and warm wonderful read by this author. Lovely, story about Holly and Oliver meeting, and spending quality time alone at Christmas. Jenny O'Brien, has a magical, loving and wonderful way with her writing, to draw you in, and keep your interest fed, and wanting to keep turning the pages. It's a book to curl up with, drinking hot chocolate and a by comfy armchair, as you feel that your in the story. Cannot wait for Jenny's next book. Well done and thank you for a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging short story
I was hooked immediately!
This story is about Holly Branch, a successful interior designer and Lord Oliver Ivy, a distinguished plastic surgeon. Holly and Oliver's paths cross by accident, at a time when Holly is discovering the truth about her parents and Oliver is spiralling downwards, having lost two patients after surgery some three months earlier.
The Christmas setting is just the backdrop to this romantic short story which takes several twists and turns before providing the reader with a very happy ending. I thought the characters felt very real and likeable from the start, and this drove me on to finish the story as quickly as I could.

5.0 out of 5 stars English woman in series
I have now read all of this series and am sad to hear they have come to an end. Lovely good feel factor books, just right for a pre christmas read. Love the names of Holly and Ivy, whos road to romance was not easy, intriguing story line and did not want to put it down. well done to the author, I will be buying more of your books as they come out.

5.0 out of 5 stars An engrossing story.
I enjoyed this book immensely and found it very hard to put down. It starts in Belgravia on Christmas Eve. Oliver Ivy is a surgeon. Clare has built up her own design business in Bond Street. Both have been damaged by events in their past. They meet under bizarre circumstances and an engrossing storyline develops. However, everything is far from straightforward. I felt the plot was very cleverly written. I would like to extend my thanks to the author, Jenny O’Brien, for a super and enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky romance with a twist
I really enjoyed this warm, festive story following Holly and Oliver during their adventurous Christmas and beyond. The writing was warm and flowed easily, making it an ideal read for much needed escapism. I've now read several books by Ms O'Bien and have never been disappointed.
