My Jingle Bell Heart Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 162 ratings

Jingle Bell

I’m an elf, but not a good one. I’m too tall. My ears aren’t pointy enough. I can’t make toys. Basically, I’m a failure.

I’ve grown up with Nic and Holly—a/k/a Santa and Mrs. Claus—which puts a considerable amount of pressure on me, especially since I’ve been kicked out of every creative department at Santa Claus, Inc., Int’l. In a last-ditch effort, I’m sent to the Special Case Unit, where I’m assigned a family going through a crisis.

I’m charged with bringing comfort and cheer to a special little girl who needs all of it she can get. I don’t expect to meet a wonderful human man who appears to have the weight of the world on his broad shoulders, and I certainly don’t expect to want to help him carry it. The case is difficult, but I’m dedicated.

I definitely don’t anticipate falling in love along the way, either.

Trick McNichol

In my world, there are no silver linings—that is, until Jinson Bell, a nursing assistant, walks into my daughter’s hospital room and gives her something to smile about.

Going into the holiday season with a sick child is as heartbreaking as it sounds. My sweet little girl is diagnosed with a horrible disease where the treatment is doubly as harsh. I’m nearly at the end of my rope regarding what to do when one afternoon, I round a corner and meet an incredible guy I’m not expecting. Jinson is kind, adorable, much younger than me, and he has a sweet tooth like none I’ve ever seen. He knows what we need before we need it, and it’s far too easy to fall in love with him.

The timing is horrible, but Jin is there when I need someone to hold me together. When he laughs, it’s like bells are ringing, and when I find out he’s only at the hospital temporarily for training, I have to find a way to make him mine.

This work of fiction is 30,000 words in length, is a standalone novella without a cliffhanger, and ends in an HEA.

I loved the story, even though it dealt with the painful topic of cancer and a child dealing with chemo.
The characters, especially the Claus's, were humorous and fully fleshed out.
The romance between Jingle and the child's father was sweet.

The ending was inspired...Santa just couldn't help himself and hopefully it helped both he and Mrs. Claus, deal with the loss of their 'son's' presence in their daily lives.

Such a delightful Christmas story! This book was fun even though it involved something as serious as childhood illness. It brought me to tears in places but in such a good way. Worth the read. I honestly would love more stories surrounding Nic and Holly and their elves.

Jingle is an elf that doesn't quite fit in. Sent to the human world to help, he meets single father, Trick, and his adopted daughter, Dani, who has just been diagnosed with leukemia. Jin is there as a nursing student and in the process falls in love with this little family.

I'm giving this a 3.5* star rating because, honestly, it was all over the place. The author should have taken the time to develop this into a longer book, but instead, tried to jam too much into a shorter work. The book starts out ok but once Jin is in the human world the pace is chaotic and there are far too many inconsistencies. Trick's attraction to Jin goes beyond instalove and feels very forced - especially for a man faced with the prospect of losing his child. No one questions when Jin uses phrases about what "humans" do and the elf magic is entirely too convenient and over-the-top. The relationship with Santa and Mrs Claus is bipolar and just adds added angst without any real purpose. The estranged parents and all is just pushed into a happy resolution, but we are cheated of the entire process. In short, it was a bit of a train wreck and I was sorely disappointed. I did finish it but I admit to speed reading through the last 30%, just to get to the end, and find an entirely WTF epilogue. Not at all thrilled with this book.

I found this storyline very emotional. The selflessness of one character made the storyline complete. The main characters are endearing and their time together magical in some ways. Loved this book!

We have this image about elves but Jingle Bell did not fit any of the traditional criteria. He felt like a failure in every elf way; not able to make toys, too tall, and the ears weren't right. Creativity just wasn't his niche. Being assigned to another unit may have looked like another opportunity to fail, but this assignment was different, very different. He was trusted to help a family. Could he give comfort and cheer to others while still doubting himself?

Trick McNichol had a daughter, Danielle, who needed all the cheer she could get. His little girl was sick and trying to stay happy for her wasn't easy. What they both needed was he right person to bring the seasonal magic. Not having anyone to lean on when the walls felt as though they were closing in was the worst feeling in the world. A little elfin magic will soon come int he form of a nursing assistant.

Fate brought Trick, Dani and Jin together. Dani was smiling, Trick had a reason to smile and Jin found he loved this. What happens when love intervenes? Can holiday magic make this the perfect, permanent family?

Adorably sweet addition for my 2020 holiday romance library. I hope to read the entire "Elves After Dark" series.

My Jingle Bell Heart is Book 7 in the Elves After Dark series and it's a wonderful addition to a great series. Jingle is an elf but not a very good one. He screws up at making toys and isn't elf enough. Jingle was adopted by Santa and Mrs. Clause. After he gets kicked out of every creative department, he is assigned to the Special Unit. He is assigned to a 5-year-old girl who is sick and her father.

    t. I didn’t expect to meet a wonderful human man who appeared to have the weight of the world on his broad shoulders, and I certainly didn’t expect I’d want to help him carry it. The case was difficult, but I was dedicated. I definitely didn’t anticipate falling in love along the way, though. His duty is to be a comfort to the girl and help her during her difficult time. He didn't expect to fall in love with her father.

Trick McNichol's daughter, Danielle, has leukemia and needs all the holiday magic this season. He meets Jin, the nursing assistant, at the hospital where Danielle is getting chemo. Jin makes Danielle and Trick feel better with his stories and holiday cheer. He slowly starts to fall in love with the happy, cheerful nursing assistant who has a special place in his daughter's heart. As they fall in love, Jin makes a decision for the good of the family. His decision was a surprise, but the ending made it perfect. It was a wonderful HEA for the entire family :) Loved this book and it's a wonderful series overall :)
