Favourite of the Cullen books. James has improved as an author. Still a little too tight of an ending. Storyline is fine but the ending just seems to happen too fast. Hopefully, he will continue to improve and the endings will not just be a bow to tie up the box.

Love the Scott Cullen series. I really like how he's 'growing up' as the series progresses and I'm looking forward to following more of his and Sharon's story.
Well written and enjoyable, waiting for the next one!

This was certainly not my favorite in the series! The characters were unlikeable, including Cullen who was, in the past, an interesting protagonist. Sharon was no longer of interest either. The story was disjointed, and the multilayer companies involved in the money thefts were not only confusing but did not hold my attention. The victim seemed to have brought tragedy upon himself. I was glad to have reached the end! I will give this author another try, but maybe he has lost interest in these characters as well as I.

The Scott Cullen series by Ed James is clearly in the top tier of its genre, the modern British cop procedural. I had eagerly awaited the latest, "Cowboys and Indians" and was not disappointed.
James incorporated his working knowledge of the corporate IT business, together with a white collar BDSM scenario and ended up with a lively search for miscreants involved in corporate malfeasance, murder and rape. The resultant effort is a "can't put down" page turner.
One strong facet of James' works, which was very apparent in his latest, is the strength and power of the dialogues. His characters are all realistic and the well presented dialogues are a key reason. By the way, as a James reader will instantly recognize, is tongue in cheek.

Ed James continues (read 'em all to date) to provide good stories that are interwoven with solid characters who struggle with job / life situations and get through them with great dialogue (humor) and realistic human interaction. I feel "right at home" with these people.
---A sincere thanks to Ed James from a fan of Robert B. Parker, Ian Rankin, Robert Crais, Kate Atkinson, Stuart McBride, and Stephen Booth; among others...

From Book 1 to 6, we see building a stronger sense of himself and his relationship that continue to build.

Book 7 "Cowboys and Indians uses both the title and brings in some American characters which gives a different dimension.

It was for me, however, the play on gender stereotyping that was so effective in misleading the reader in trying to solve the case before Cullen.

Well done, onto 8. "Heroes and Villians".

Thrilling read full of Suspense and intrigue. Working on one case, then helping out on a second, yet one of the cases plunges out another making three. Are they connected. Once you start reading You will not be able to put it down.

Another great story DC Scott Cullen and crew. So glad that he's finally got his promotion and maybe he might be able to get rid of the awful Bain. Good to see that Sharon and Scott are still together. I do enjoy this series, well written and edited with plenty of twists in the plot. Looking forward to more.

“Cowboys and Indians” is the seventh book in the Scott Cullen series by author Ed James. An excellent police procedural series with the engaging Detective Scott Cullen. Detective Scott Cullen serves as a compelling and relatable protagonist. The struggles and complexities that Cullen faces as a young cop in Edinburgh, driven by ambition and a desire to excel in his career make this series a fascinating read. We watch Cullen’s character development and growth as he navigates the challenges of a baffling investigation with his relentless pursuit of justice and determination to uncover the truth.

This is another excellent addition to the series and features a series of male rapes that are plaguing Edinburgh. When a dead body is found near Dean Bridge, the mystery deepens, and Detective Cullen is pulled into the city’s financial services sector.

The novel is well written with plenty of interest throughout, the story deals with trust, betrayal, and ambition and all the usual characters are featured, I was constantly trying to work out the identity of the killer.

For me the real strength of this series is the well developed characters that add another dimension to the clever well thought out plots. I really enjoy this series.
