Craig is a million-selling author of science fiction (post-apocalyptic, military sci-fi, and space opera), thrillers, and non-fiction.
Craig retired from the Marine Corps after a long career in the military intelligence community, having worked with most of the U.S. Government's three-letter agencies. After a short stint with physical security, Craig went to law school, graduated summa cum laude, and went into business consulting. From intelligence, to the inner workings of company board rooms, to on-the-ground leadership, Craig has seen it firsthand.
His books are an extension of his experience, putting the trials and tribulations of a fast-paced world into your hands. Whether in Science Fiction, Thrillers, Fantasy, or even his Non-Fiction, you'll find consistent themes of justice and doing right by those who are counting on their leaders. Leadership is a service, not a crown to lord over others.
No matter where Craig went, he always had a book with him. Thanks to 21st Century technology, He now has thousands of books at his fingertips and with him wherever he goes. How many books would he have read on deployments had he not had to carry a physical book?
No one is encumbered like that now. Craig loves the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, Andre Norton, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. He has been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, Craig aspires to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared him to.
Through a bizarre series of events, Craig ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. He never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. He and his wife get to watch the northern lights from their driveway. Their dog has lots of room to run, just until temperatures reach fifty below zero. They have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.
It’s all part of the give and take of life. If they didn’t have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2023Congratulations to Tim Marquitz, Craig Martelle and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2018This latest book detailing the adventures of the Furlorians was quite good!
This time around, their people are safe with the Federation, but the crew want to offer their services to earn their keep in a sense.
This book (no spoilers) has more of a spy intrigue type of feel to it. Which is one of the great things about this series. Each new book has a different flavor, for lack of a better way of putting it. This helps to keep the books from getting stale, whilst always being exciting and new.
I would also recommend having read the previous two books before diving into this one. Both because they were pretty great, and because you might be a little lost plot wise.
All in all, this was another fantastic adventure and I can't wait to see what happens next!

- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2018This is a series of writing about a species who lived a simple existence until invaded by a war like race and how they have had to grow quickly into a space faring race and learn to fight... for what is right not only for them but for all species.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2018Another awesome book in the Kutherian Gambit Universe. I am falling in love with the characters. Happy belated birthday 🎂Craig! Why isn't your name on the author credits? I can't wait for the next one! Keep churning out the awesome stories guys!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 20184 stars, just because people begin to think all 5 stars reviews are fakes. The story is riveting as the former fugitives are embarking on their first mission for the Federation ...Pretending to be royal ambassadors seeking to establish trade with a planet, their mission to locate and rescue a secret agent of the Federation who has vanished. The story of betrayal and intrigue that follows will keep you from wandering as the cat people endeavor to accomplish their mission.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2020Most of the characters from the previous book have formed an off the books Federation team. The mission to find and bring in an asylum seeker turns deadly when zealots attack. I liked the ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant plot
Yes, Taj has stepped up as leader and is showing growth in her capabilities, especially that of doing things on the fly. Can’t wait to see what she and the team do next to make their way back home.
