    This story brought it! It was emotional, entertaining, it had sizzling heat, romance and great secondary characters that brought so much to this brother’s best friend romance. But what put it in a league of its own was the writing. Great build of past and present giving you all the history between the two main characters that just made their connection so genuine. I laughed, I swooned and I fell hard for these two! But it also has some drama and encounters that are difficult to go through that deals with dating violence and bullying.

    I’m not a big fan of second chance romances, but this one was very well done. Aria and Wes were made for each other and seemed to embody the saying “right person, wrong time”. They fell in love when they were just kids, but the timing was never right. Wes struggled with his family secrets and needed to pursue his dreams of becoming a surgeon, and Aria needed to go out into the world and sell her art. When they finally have a chance at reconnecting, it doesn’t take long for old feelings to surface.

    I loved the way Wes pursued Aria. After everything they went through as teens, he definitely needed to be the one to fight for Aria this time. He saw his way in and he took it. Aria had a lot of doubt surrounding Wes. He’s left her not once, but twice, and while she always knew the score, she also always hoped he’d come back to her. I liked that she didn’t just allow Wes back in immediately, she made him prove his words and promises with actions.

    I liked the secondary plot with Aria’s best friend Josh. It gave Aria and Wes a common ground, helping Josh recover and trying to figure out who beat him up. Wes really stepped up for Aria when she needed him and it went a long way in mending some of Aria’s past hurts.

    There were a few things that bothered me. The first was Drew. I found myself really disliking him and I know he’s the MMC of the next book so I hope he’s able to redeem himself, but he was truly awful. He didn’t listen to anything Aria said and kept trying to force her back into a relationship he broke in the first place. The second was Brady and Cooper. I wish Aria and Wes had gotten a little more justice for the way they were both treated. It seemed like the only plot that was left open. But even with those two caveats, I really enjoyed this book.

    I love this book so much! It is pure Magic and Perfection and speaks to my heart and my soul and I really don’t want to let these characters go. I can’t even say how many times I’ve already reread this book, and talk about highlights... I fell in love with the story and the characters; Wes and Aria are EVERYTHING! I literally “felt” this book all the way through on such a visceral level. It has great emotional depth and somehow intertwined heartbreak and hope in a beautiful, breathtaking way and is now one of my most favorite stories. The love between Wes and Aria feels so epic and deep and real. The chemistry between them sizzles right off the page.

    I love the flashbacks, as they show when and where the incredible connection between Wes and Aria developed and how their love might withstand the time and distance it is forced to endure. They have that intense, deep love (soul-connection) I think most of us long to feel in our lives and it just oozes right off the page. The writing is so good and I feel every emotion the characters feel on a gut level. Some passages just devastate me (in a good way), especially those showing Wes and Aria’s vulnerabilities, as well as their sadness and anguish over timing and circumstances taking their lives in different directions and away from each other. But, then, devastated turns into elated as the hope surrounding a second chance literally seeps off the page and fills my heart. So many feelings! I love dual POV and “seeing” the loss, vulnerability, love, heartbreak, desire, anguish, and hope through each character’s eyes. As if all of this weren’t enough, also woven into the story is a timely, sensitive, true-to-life issue that adds another layer of drama and suspense to the story.

    I couldn’t put this book down and finished it in one sitting. I only recently discovered J. Saman and she is now one of my favorite authors. Her stories feel so real and full of heart and they linger with me long after I’ve finished reading them. The way she writes really grabs me and I see and feel the story as if it is literally unfolding in front of me, as clear as if I were watching a movie.

    Do yourself a favor and read this book!

    It's hard to come up with anything more appropriate than sexy, dirty and breathtaking...... oh yeah, anxiety inducing because it's just so obvious that Wes and Aria belong together. They have for a long time, having known each other intimately since high school (Wes is almost 3 years older), but life and learning and establishing adult lives got in the way for this trauma surgeon and artist.     Aria and Wes are a perfect example of a second chance love story - one that started when these two were in their teens (with Wes a couple of years older than Aria) and broke down as teen relationships often do. They meet again under less than ideal circumstances but the chemistry and old feelings reignite and soon become hard to ignore. This is a beautiful story that I could not put down. Can't wait to read the next one.

    I love their story and how far it goes back. There were some surprises in this one. They are definitely meant to be. I do wish we had the conversation between best friends though. I always love that part when a guy tells her best friend that he loves his sister. This doesn't bother me enough to not give it 5 stars though. It really deserves all the stars.
    Such a great story and a great series. The author knows how to keep you interested right to the very end.
