"What do you mean you have a fake fiancé?"
Running into an old enemy can really do strange things to you. And when you find out said enemy is engaged to your father . . . well, let's just say the best of choices were not made.
It was supposed to be a vacation of a lifetime before the school year started back up again. My best friend was getting married and I had a free trip to Hawaii.
But that first night, I ran into not only my estranged dad, but his newly betrothed as well. Immediately my defenses were raised and before I knew it, I was telling them all about my beautifully handsome and extremely muscular fiancé who was on vacation with me.
Which meant, I needed a man and quick. Unfortunately, Hawaii is a very small group of islands and my options of single men were limited. I was left with one choice, Brock "Romeo" Romero.
He's handsome.
He's muscular.
And he's single.
He checked all the boxes. So what's the problem? Unfortunately, we completely and utterly despise each other.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2021Meghan Quinn never fails to write stories that has me laughing out loud one minute and then swooning all over the place the next. Her characters and storylines are original and oh so addictive that I can’t help but fall in love with her characters each and every time. And in true Meghan Quinn fashion, I was crying from laughter, awwing and melting from swooniness, smiling from the characters and how they were, and just enjoying the heck out of the book. Romeo and Stella‘s friends to lovers meets frenemies, fake fiancé romance left me with a perpetual smile on my face. Earn Your Extra Credit has that unparalleled quirkiness that only Meghan Quinn can deliver. A flawless blend of undeniable chemistry, a sassy heroine, swoony alpha hero, hilarious moments and banter, steam and tension and heart aching emotions.
I was invested in Romeo and Stella from the start. They had the kind of frustrating slow burn that I live for. The time it took for things to heat up between these two was a bit of sweet torture, but with never a dull moment. When they finally come together it was completely worth the wait. These two definitely gave each other a run for their money, and it was incredibly entertaining - and so freaking frustrating to experience. And at times, I wanted to bang their heads together! But that’s what made their journey so all consuming. They both had insecurities and made mistakes but they eventually found their way. I went through so many emotions reading this book...it went way beyond an emotional rollercoaster.
Meghan Quinn writes characters that are quirky yet memorable and they feel so real. This book flowed beautifully and the wonderful characters made it all the more enjoyable. This book was the perfect romcom for me. It made me laugh so hard, it had just the right amount of angst, and gave me all the feels. I love these characters a ton and I can’t wait to see more from this group. Earn Your Extra Credit is a must read.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2021I love Meghan Quinn’s books! I found her in 2020, and she was my escape. I ran so many of her books and loved almost every single one. She has a way of making the steamiest romances while keeping me laughing out loud at least a handful of times during each story. This book was no exception!
I really loved the beginning of this book. Stella and Romeo are in Hawaii for Greer and Arlo’s wedding from See Me After Class. It was great to see the gang back together, and I really enjoyed being back in their world. Stella and Cora cracked me up from the very first night. Stella and Romeo started the book off on a rough note which I actually liked that added hate-to-love aspect. Poor Romeo, though! I really felt for him in that situation. I would have been mortified if I were in his shoes.
Brock Romero is one of my favorite hero’s I have read in such a long time. He was stand out! He was really well-spoken, he was so swoony, and I loved how he interacted with his friends and Stella. Reading about Stella from his perspective was probably my favorite part of the book! He was just an awesome guy, and I am so glad we got to read his story.
I also really loved the setting. I always like books that take place on a vacation because it makes me feel like I am right there with the characters. Hawaii was incredible, and I loved the resort atmosphere. I have never stayed at a resort like they had in the book, but it was definitely great to read about. I liked the excursions and the days spent around the pool. Y’all. There is a pool scene. Read it and thank me later!!
I really enjoyed most of the story, but that said, there were also aspects I didn’t like. Stella was EXTREMELY immature. At first, I could brush it off because it was moving the plot along, but it got old quick. It is eventually addressed, and Stella does grow throughout the second half of the book. Still, overall, I really didn’t enjoy how she acted throughout the large majority of the book. I really wanted to like her; I just couldn’t bring myself to really buy into her perspectives.
Stella and Romeo were also some of the worst communicators I have ever read in a romance. This was basically one big miscommunication from start to end. I don’t love to read about miscommunication, so they didn’t add anything to the story for me.
I also think, while there are some books I wish would never end, this was not one of those. It was a LONG book. The portion of the book set in Hawaii could have almost been its whole book. There were about 100 pages where I was tempted to just skim because I wasn’t invested in Stella’s character and really just wanted to get to the resolution with Romeo.
Overall, I still enjoyed the book. I love Brock, and he really made this book for me. It was good to be back with this group, and the vacation setting was so fun to read. If you can push through some immature moves on Stella’s part, this is still a pretty good book. While it’s not one of my favorites that Meghan has written, I’m still glad I read it, if only to get more of Brock Romero…(major heart eyes).
If you’re looking for a good vacation read with a steamy fake fiance, a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers storyline, and another chance to be in this amazing world of characters Meghan has created, definitely give it a read.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2021Super sexy hot former Brentwood baseball boy turned super sexy PE teacher falls for his co-worker who has NO clue?? That results in automatic download for Earn Your Extra Credit. This is a hilarious and heartfelt mashup for tropes....friends to lovers turned kinda frenemies, unrequited love (can I say I LOVED that Brock was the one in love first), fake fiancée, vacation fling, and workplace romance and it all just worked in a way only this author can do.
This book is the perfect mix of fun and heart. I laughed so hard at Stella and her antics in Hawaii and then my heart broke for her as she worked through family issues with her dad. All the feels.
Brock is a dream but he’s still a man so while I loved him I also wanted to smack him upside the head because sometimes men are clueless. I’m glad someone (his mom) finally got through to him before he blew everything. He was a good man, a good friend and a great teacher. Plus the images in my head of super smoking hot Brock Romeo Romero were like 5 alarm fire hot.
This was honestly just such a fun read. The steam is steamy....that first time up against the wall!!! So 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 that I thought my kindle might start smoking.
The author is known for her realistic love stories and making her couples work for it and they sure did here. I was so worried If she was gonna pull another heartbreaker like The Locker Room (I still haven’t fully forgiven her for that) but while the road was rough for Brock and Stella for a bit this story and how it played out was perfect.
And the cherry on the sundae was some Brentwood Boy cameos that warmed my heart (and maybe some other parts too).
Overall, this book is perfect and quintessential Meghan Quinn...a perfect mix of romance, laughter and a touch of the ridiculous (I.e, Gunner and Keiko). I would highly highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this!
I have been waiting for these two for AGES! I loved Brock and Stella in the first book, and was curious how their relationship was going to go. I loved to see them both growing up and getting in touch with their deepest issues and fears. And, ohhhh, THE GRAND GESTURE! What a freaking beautiful scene! Miss Meghan Quinn, you did it again!
And now I’m ready for my sweet, lovely Cora and Mr Grayson...

This book was so fun to read! I don't know how many times I have laughed out loud looking like a moron.
It was well written, with a great pace and the love tension was just fantastic! I didn't know Meghan Quinn before finding this book, but I plan to read way more of her works.
Highly recommended for someone who is looking for a romance that will make you laugh and fall in love with the chemistry of the main characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mai Tai and Fake Fiancé Please
There’s something so familiar and different about this book. I’ve read a lot of Meghan’s sport romances and this one will still have you laughing out loud and has tons of sexy banter but Romeo and Stella are both more tortured than I normally expect from Meghan. I really felt for both of them as they dealt with their circumstances.
Romeo has been infatuated with Stella for quite some time while she seems uninterested. So Romeo takes his frustration a step further by being grumpy and argumentative with Stella. To the point where their friends are finding it hard to be around them.
Stella has her own family issues to deal with when he father lets her know he’s engaged to a woman the same age as Stella and had made her life miserable in high school. Acting out of shock, she decides to get herself a fake fiancé to save face and for some reason, Romeo is the name that she thinks of.
Once the “engagement” starts they have such chemistry! There was something extra about these two. Romeo is very swoony and Stella starts re-thinking their “friendship”. This was a very funny read mixed in with super hot sexy times! Definitely don’t miss out on this one!

4.0 out of 5 stars as always lovely..
But oh my god are people stupid in this book. It makes me angry and I keep thinking are people in real life this stupid? Because if so I get it why the world is the way it is.
