Emeralds: A dark, why choose, romance with morally grey heroes. (Tarnished Crowns Trilogy Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 129 ratings

Traitors. Thieves. Liars. Lovers. We had been all of these.

I have stolen hearts that weren’t mine to take.
Betrayed my country for the sake of another night in my lovers’ bed.
Lied to the people I said I loved.
All for the tarnished crown of an empire than can no longer exist.

The first time I saw Blair I forgot what I was meant to be. The last time I saw Ben, I remembered.
I am the kingmaker.
The fixer.
The healer.

I am the one who can end this.

Explosive Creative Ending to a Great Political Intrigue/ Romance
I just finished the last book in the Tarnished crown series by Annie Dyer. I absolutely loved the series and the last book was spot on perfect! How Ms. Dyer keeps all the storylines, political intrigues, and character arcs together I don't know, but she does a fabulous job. This last book you get to see Blair, Ben, and Isaac reach their full potential. They don't move away from the past they grown from it strong like the oak tree in their maze. This is a 5 star read and I highly recommend the series. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A perfect conclusion to this trilogy, Ben, Issac, and Blair having had to work through so much pain, fear, and grief to get to this point made their journey worth it all around. I love their story, and how they balance all the delicate issues surrounding their relationship.

Issac is easily my favorite of the three followed closely by Blair, but Ben is necessary to complete their relationship and that shows so clearly while reading this story! Their love is full of deceit, distrust, and longing, but it is still pure and finds a way to become healthy in the end!

This is the third book in the Tarnished Crowns trilogy and it’s a humdinger! Full of political intrigue and mysterious players with questionable motives. You will fall in love with Isaac, Ben and Blair as they maneuver through the daily land mines of this alternate royal world!

The trilogy was truly captivating. It's so well written and kept me on edge and engaged my mind at every step.

Blair Stewart is struggling with the role her brother was born for, to lead Scotland when her father the King passes away. Now her best friend, lover and personal guard Benjamin Smith is missing and presumed dead. By her side stays Isaac Everleigh whose relation to the British crown makes Blair somewhat concerned about where his loyalties really lay.

As Blair's life is still in danger Isaac must tread carefully as he knows not everything is as it seems and someone is betraying Blair.

Can Isaac keep Blair safe from those who wish to remove her from being the Queen of Scotland?

This book is so bittersweet as I was anxious to see how everything would conclude but at the same time I was sad that the series was coming to an end.

This book was from Isaac's perspective and it was a good way to conclude with all of the issues between England and Scotland and stealing dealing with the aftermath of the proposal of a merger that Blair's brother Lennox had been hoping for. In this book we also see Isaac come from behind the shadows of his brother, William, and father, also William, and take a role in the political scene in England.

I also liked this book from Isaac's view because of what happened with Ben and what Isaac was aware of. Isaac was aware of who Ben's sister was and the threat that she entailed and he was anxious to get to the bottom of everything knowing that Ben was innocent of the things that were being said about him with his apparent death.

When certain things are revealed to Blair I completely understood why she was so mad but I also do think it was the right thing to keep everything so quiet given what was at stake.

I had my suspicions about the spy right from the beginning and I was glad that I was right! I was surprised about why and how everything came to be though! I thought it was pretty ironic with everything else that had happened with a certain other character.

The end was great and I am hating to say goodbye to these characters!!

This whole series is stunning. In the final book we have more mystery and intrigue and political machinations, and the relationship between Blair, Isaac, and Ben is beautifully written. The traitor is revealed and wow, I didn't see it coming. The ending is satisfying. Love this trilogy.

Prepare yourself for the unexpected. Ok so to begin with this is mostly told from Isaac’s POV. There are layers upon layers in this story. Twists, turns, and what the heck is going on moments. If you were expecting a tidy little wrap up this is not this book. This is the ultimate, expect the unexpected. While I was reading all these quotes from MacBeth were running through my mind, because they were so relatable. One quote that hit me hard from MacBeth ,”When shall we three meet again in thunder, lightning or in rain?” There was so much going on and not knowing who to trust but the love, oh the love the these three held for each other. It just tugged at every heartstring I had. And the other two MacBeth quotes are, “Fair is foul and foul is fair” meaning appearances can be deceiving and many times what we think is bad we ourselves end up doing thinking it’s for good, and “Something wicked this way comes”. If you read this trilogy you will see how all this fits. It’s as true today as it was when it was written. Politics make strange bedfellows and in British politics it seems the seem as in American politics. Anyway, since I can’t divulge the story I’m just giving you how it affected me.
So as I said previously, expect the unexpected. You never really know who to trust. Sometimes those you trust the most, can hurt you the worst. This is a trilogy I will definitely be re-reading. It’s captivating. It held me hostage the whole time I couldn’t put it down!

This trilogy consumed me! I love a good royal romance story, but this trilogy was SO MUCH MORE! Blair, Ben & Isaac’s dynamic was scorching & the storyline was intense. I loved the different POV’s from each character giving glimpses into their thoughts and reasons behind their actions. This was my first time reading books by the author and I enjoyed her style immensely.

The book where all the snippets of information are finally out. Ben has disappeared and Blair is heartbroken as everyone thinks he is a traitor. Isaac tries to comfort her when he can but knows that within their threesome Ben has her heart first. They are trying to discover who is leaking information. Isaacs father has something to do with it and so does Bens sister. Ben regrets not telling Blair where he has been but he is there when the castle is attacked. Blair is going to be queen as her father dies which puts her in more danger. Its a story that keeps you guessing right to the very end. Fab. Intense.

Wow! I have no words! This book and Trilogy will leave you speechless! It ties up everything! The steamy level is of the charts!!!

This time Emeralds is told from Isaac's point of view, The Kingmaker. You find out everything you ever wanted to know about him.

This book is unputdownable! You want to finish it to find out what happens but you also want to savour ever last page so it never ends!

There's tears, heartbreak and loss along the way.

I'm finding it really hard to leave a review as I don't want to give anything away so I'm sorry if I am being very vague

Annie has blown me away with this Trilogy, it's an amazing end to the Trilogy and a must read for everyone.
