Enforcer (Four Horsemen Sagas) Paperback – November 27, 2019
Purchase options and add-ons
Peacemakers. The Galactic Union’s most capable enforcers and resolute negotiators, their name alone elicits fear and awe among the Union’s citizenry.
In the entire history of the Galactic Union, Hr’ent Golramm would be only the seventh member of the Oogar race to earn a Peacemaker badge. But becoming a Peacemaker doesn’t seem to be his destiny. He’s not even sure he wants to be one.
Deputy Selector Hak-Chet, on the other hand, has even bigger plans for the monstrous, young Oogar. At five hundred kilos of raging, purple terror of questionable parentage, Hr’ent represents Hak-Chet’s future for the Peacemaker Guild, but he needs a meat grinder into which he can drop his prospective prodigy in hopes that Hr’ent can come out the other side not only in once piece, but victorious over impossible odds.
Hak-Chet doesn’t want a Peacemaker. He wants an Enforcer, and he’s willing to cross just about every line to force Hr’ent into that mold. And when all is said and done, neither Hr’ent nor the war-torn world of Godannii 2 will ever be the same again.
There’s a new kind of Enforcer headed to the Galactic Union, and in the times before the Revelations Cycle, he will shake the very foundations of it for centuries to come.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2019Ikenberry and Allen have written a great story. Set in the 4HU universe(Kennedy, Wandrey et al) this starts a new offshoot following the peacemakers and their enforcers. You don't have to read any of the progenitors (tho please do) to follow the action. I found myself at the end waaay too soon. I look forward to more stories in this saga! May I have some more. please. sir?
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2023Imagine two sides of you battling for supremacy inside you. One civilized, intelligent, thoughtful, and logical. The other primal, passionate, aggressive, and full of rage. The Peacemaker Guild is a highly respected, powerful, yet relatively low in total numbers guild. Getting into their academy is no easy feat. So, enduring the training, extensive study, and constant drills to hone their skills and prepare them to become a Peacemaker, is arduous to say the least. Their test to graduate even more so. None of that compares to their first mission after graduation though. However nothing is more difficult than becoming an Enforcer. This is the highest and most dangerous field position in the Peacemaker ranks. It takes a truly remarkable individual to achieve that rank. Not only do you have to be able to think, research, and investigate ease case, but you have to be able to fight, defend, and attack with ferocity, sometimes with deadly force. You have to have a balance of skills, and be able to tip that balance, depending on the situation. Because not just anyone can become an Enforcer.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2019Hr’ent Golramm, only the seventh Oogar in the entire history of the Peacemakers, just barely beaten for valedictorian, questions if he wants to continue as a Peacemaker. In hindsight, being ostracized by the other cadets at the Academy had been a boon to his training.
Class valedictorian, Peacemaker Rsach Klixtylbyt of the Jeha, and his friends are fresh from the academy, are very sure they know what to do in the dispute between Iron Sky Mining Company and GenSha Union Leaders. However, Iron Sky Mining is ready to deploy ISMC security forces and perhaps even mercenaries to restore the peace. They aren’t afraid to use violence to subvert their miners.
Hr’ent finds himself manipulated into undergoing further transition from Peacemaker to Enforcer and sent to investigate what happened to his Academy rival and enforce a solution to the betrayals on Godannii 2

- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2020Another fascinating tale from the Four Horsemen Universe. This one follows the development of an Oogar from graduation as a Peacemaker through his conversion to an Enforcer. Plenty of fighting and philosophy. I’m looking forward to the next chapter.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Close Look At Enforcers
This is the tale of a new type of enforcer. Hr'ent is a Oogar, a giant bear that is seemingly only fit for combat. As such his coleagues treat him like he is a big dumb animal. He is manipulated by Hak to become an enforcer. How much of the abuse Hr'ent underwent at the academy was natural and how much was encouraged by Hak is unclear. Although this tale is Hr'ent's we get a look at the internals of the Peacemaker Guild and it isn't a pleasant one. When does the search for justice and doing what is necessary become a abuse of the law? This story appears set at the end of the Alpha contracts period.
