    This is a paranormal merman romance, the first book in a series that probably should be read in order. Mermen lure sailors with their songs, to be played with for a while but the mermen themselves are cursed to never slake the lust they feel. Arian would give anything to be with Fernando for just one day and night but in the end, it may cost them everything! What a fascinating story, and quite unique. I do wish there was more world-building but it is quite the erotic story on it’s own.

    There are some firsts here for me. I have never read a book about mermen and I had never read any books by this author. I am happy to say that now I have done both.
    There were a few uses of modern slang in this world, but that's just something that may be looked over for the sake of a good story... And love. I loved that even though he fought it, Fernando couldn't not give into Arian. I loved that even thought it was thought that mermen could not have sexual release, that Fernando cared enough to find a way to reciprocate and give Arian the pleasure he desired. I love that Fernando was man enough to let his guard down and let Arian in. I hated when they were separated and was rooting for them to find a way back to each other and find that lasting love. I was pleasantly pleased with reading this new style of MM romance and I can't wait to read more.

    I have to say that I did enjoy reading this book. I will be honest and say I thought about putting it down and not finishing it. I am glad I stuck with it until the end, because it is a good book. Fernando is a straight sailor who gets caught up in a merman’s song. Arian is the merman who captures Fernando. The two men become very intimate. For the longest, Fernando holds to his “straightness” even though Arain has feelings for him. Eventually Fernando is able to leave Arain and he has a moment of emotional clarity. But one can ask how does a relation with a merman and remain viable. Read the book.

    This is so much better than most paranormal tales including other merman ones. It’s a different take on the genre and I loved it. Fernando and his crew sail a little too close to a group of islands where, so the legends say, dangerous mermen live. Few sailors have ever escaped. What they meet there are lustful sea creatures without the means of satisfaction. This concept then drives the motivation of both Fernando and his merman, Arian. There’s a lot of hot action in this story but I didn’t consider any of it dubcon, and it supports a very clever plot. Throw in the romance, a sea witch, the Caribbean locations and a very nicely tied up ending and this is a book definitely worth reading, probably several times.

    Are you game for some adorably, bratty little mermen? I always am and I was thoroughly pleased with what I got in this story. The mermen abduct the sexy sailormen (naughty). Why you ask? Simple. The mermen can’t orgasm. They abduct men to pleasure them and live vicariously through them. It’s really a kind gesture (I thought so). The men don’t seem to mind all that much. There’s some seriously awesome orgasm denial kink going on and I’m just aaaaaaall about it. I enjoyed the hell out of all the mermen mischief. They were actually quite the innocent lot (even though they were doing some not-so-innocent things to the sailors) and I instantly fell in love with them.

    But it’s not all (hot) kink.

    There’s a sweet, The Little Mermaidesque story here. Arian and Fernando are a magic pairing. I love how Fernando takes care of Arian.

    And I don’t know what everyone else thought, but I liked Malik, the sort of “sea-witch” guy. I mean, he was awful at first, but he made me laugh…? Anyway, cool side character.

    Aramis has a poetic writing style, weaving gorgeous scenes and romantic moments. I couldn’t put it down and had to read straight through. I highly recommend this story. It’s kinky, adorable and entertaining. A solid five star read for me.
