About the author

Lou Stock has always lived in a world of her own, continuously lost in her imagination. Whether in the forests that backed up to her home in Aberdeen when she was only six years old, the unique landscape of Singapore she discovered at eight, or the rolling woodlands that rolled up to Dartmoor during her teen years, there have always been new worlds to explore.
Now an adult living in Oakhurst, Texas, and surrounded by forests there are stories to tell. When she's not writing, Louise can be found hanging out with her family, crazy pup, or at the computer lost in her creativity of her successful graphic design business, LJDesigns.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2015I am sure you have come across authors who instantly become a favorite of yours because of their writing style and how their books make you feel. Then there are those rare times when you find an author who finds the perfect words for your nameless emotions and shows you that you were never alone or crazy for feeling everything is hopeless. They have an ability to take a fictional story and tie it to your life into reality, in hopes that you will soon feel and give acceptance in the world. That is what L. J. Stock did with this book. She gave every person who has ever lost someone who was their anchor or stumbled in life because of no direction, words to describe how they feel and an insight into why we made those choices.
If not for her brilliance in how she introduced the readers to Ethan, the way she showed his downfall step by step and even more showed the motive behind his actions, I am not sure the reader would even care what happened to him. He would have been nothing more than a loser in the eyes of society but the author makes us see more, she makes him human to the readers. She shows us the feeling of loss, not only of love, but his young adult years, his morality and his determination. He lost his direction in life and his respect for people who were supposed to take care of him. One accident didn’t just leave him without the most important person in his world; it took his life from him.
She let us see the Ethan we had fallen in love with in the first two books, struggle in his early life with two parents who loved each other but were a toxic mix. As she wrote in the book, Ethan and his brother were his mother’s world; his mother was his dad’s universe. There was no room in his dad’s life for him and his brother and he knew it, but at what point do you give up the hope that will change? Ethan showed us his struggle to do good, to be the man his mother taught him to be, but life just became to empty and hard. He was a young man forced to grow up in a world of pitfalls and no one to guide him.
He finds a girl during a huge dramatic lie; she brings something back to his heart that he had lost a long time ago, but even that doesn’t always go smoothly. He does have people who stand by him and cares, but what happens when that isn’t enough. He was searching for the open door that would lead him to where he was supposed to be and he cheated death often, yet he still kept hoping the next door would be the one.
I could go on and on about what happens in this book, but the synopsis tells you the highlights and what to expect perfectly and I don’t want to risk giving any spoilers. The author had my heart wrapped around her little finger in this one, more so than with Izzy and Paris stories. I loved the girls but I NEEDED to rescue Ethan. I sat amazed at how strong her characters are. She writes about real survivors in realistic terms. If you ever want a series about hope, heartache, loss, devastation and the glorious moment of picking yourself up and starting over again, then you will want to read this series.

I received this book as a gift
Ethan Walker’s Road to Wonderland is a harrowing story of loss, escape, and trying to live again. Not everyone takes a pretty path towards the future and some fall prey to toxic habits to get them to the next day, so lost are they to their grief. Ethan was a victim of circumstance, one that nearly took him to an early grave. In true Wonderland fashion, Ethan’s journey is a hard one with tough lessons and disastrous choices but with the help of friends, hope and recovery are still possible.
PROS:
Ethan’s story is a provocative and intensely real one. The dangers of drug use are depicted full force as they turn from a coping mechanism to true addiction. Ethan’s life becomes a hot mess of illicit sex, blurred days, and desperation to get his next fix. Everything he once was, his innocence, his heart are in a catastrophic and precarious situation as he loses all ability to care. L.J. Stock clearly did substantial research in the use of recreational drugs, the feelings, emotions, and effects as well as the recovery process.
Ethan is a player, what’s unclear is how much of his sexual prowess was pre or manifested from drug use. He likes to live in the moment, partying, feeling, grabbing the pleasures life has to offer by the horns and going with it. He’s got a dirty mouth and blunt, erotic thoughts that will turn your face a nice shade of pink. The way he treats women is abominable but they’re not really any better. Most are skanky, flirty girls who put out for anyone and have no regrets the next day. Gruff, sexy, and full of arrogant charm, Ethan is hyper masculine. Between his killer body and blatant sex appeal, he’s hard to resist. Even in his drug induced haze, Ethan has moments of stark clarity that show the true nature of his character, one who is loyal, loves fiercely, and protects the people he cares about. Rife with guilt, Ethan’s concern is never truly with his personal safety but what it’s doing to his little brother and how it’s hurting his best friend, Scott.
The relationship between Ethan and his father is brief but gut-wrenching. The hatred, loathing, and general disgust are especially poignant. The final conversation is heartbreaking to read, that anyone could be so heartless and cruel was shocking and twisted. My heart ached for Ethan as he discovered that parents are not always heroes and sometimes they’re nothing more than your ticket into this world.
I loved Ethan because despite his obvious flaws, he was real. He didn’t pretend to be anything but a mess, he knew he was a jerk, and when he made mistakes, his heart rose to the surface, fighting to regain who he once was. Ethan’s path isn’t sugar-coated and far from traditional yet so many people go through similar situations after loss.
CONS:
Ethan’s rehabilitation felt fast and unresolved. Because the scenes in the center were glossed over, his true anguish and suffering were muted.
As Ethan’s best friend, Scott was a poor example but there for him when he needed to be slapped in the face and woken up from his perilous life choices. Scenes with Scott are far and few between. While their bond is felt, it’s not as strong as it could have been. More scenes of them together, to capture their particular interactions and really gauge their friendship would have helped to feel like Ethan had a real friend. Instead,
Ethan felt alone, not entirely because he cut people out and pushed them away but there wasn’t a build up to place the foundation of their friendship.
Ethan’s run with Daggs seemed much less sinister and lighter than it felt from the brief insinuations in the other RTW books. The nature of Daggs character, his wicked evil personality, his despicable actions were absent. Ethan’s life hung in the balance of this horrendous person and his cronies and the foreboding, the anticipation, the fear were minimal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my cuppa
Mrs. Stock is a wonderful writer. There were so many emotions, ups and downs ....but I can't help it, it wasn't my thing at all.
First, you need to read the other books if you want to have a clue who's who.
The first 65% of the book is all about the drugs and the pain, addiction and the fall down. The next 30% are about recovering and building up the future, but also admiring the h from afar for 11 !!! Years.....
The last 5 % are about their 1. Date which didn't went well, 1 kiss and they part ways..... but he wants to fight for her in the future......

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning!
Book 3 of the Road to Wonderland series is finally here and anyone who knows me even a little bit will be expecting what I'm about to say.
Ethan Walker is perfect.
I don't just mean a little bit... or close to perfect... I mean ACTUALLY perfect. L.J. Stock does a phenomenal job of bringing such a modern-day hero to life.
Ethan's life has been fairly average at the very start of the book. A typical 19-year-old boy with the world at his feet, he likes to party hard and deal with the consequences later. It's not that he doesn't think he's an adult yet, it's just that he doesn't have to act like one. Mainly because of the love his mother shows to him. She makes him feel secure, so he is... at least for a short while.
When his worst nightmare suddenly becomes his reality, Ethan is given a baptism of fire in to adulthood. He isn't just thrown in at the deep end. The devil has strapped a brick to his ankle and is pouring chlorine into the pool by the bucket load. With his younger brother, Dean, to look out for, Ethan has no choice but to finally grown into his skin and become a man. Only it isn't always that simple, and just like with Izzy and Paris in book one and two of this series, Ethan has people out there waiting for him in the big, bad world. People who want to corrupt him, seduce him and watch as he falls to his knees.
This story has you on the edge of your seat from the very first sentence, and I'm not just saying that. L.J. Stock completely and utterly nails the emotions of grief, responsibility vs selfishness, anger, betrayal, suffocation and even a little bit of mystery along the way. As the synopsis says, there's one constant light, beside his best friend and brother, as Ethan stumbles his way down the road he didn't expect to take... and it's that light that keeps you wondering what is going to become of this man and his life.
Stock's writing is something that will bewitch you from the word go. With an indescribable talent, I'm telling you now that once you've read just a few of her words, you'll be an insta-fan.
Prepare to be addicted to this story.
You'll want to protect Ethan as a boy and you'll fall in love with him as a man.
L.J. Stock has completely nailed this one and I cannot recommend this read enough. Prepare to be completely Walker Whipped.
Ethan Walker has got his thumbprint plastered all over my forehead. Lucky me.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved Walking this road to Wonderland
I've followed the Road to Wonderland series from the very beginning, from starting as a Role Play group on Twitter to being released into books. This is the third book in the series and each book is told from a different characters POV.
Ethan has always been a character I have liked, but from afar. He has a very confident 'LAD' attitude about him, is a huge flirt and can at times come across as a cock sure arse at times, but there has always been another side to him. He's damaged, but has fought some harrowing battles to get where he is. He hides his heart from the world so getting to read a whole book from inside his head allowed me to finally understand his character.
This book delves into the world of drug addiction and loss. The further Ethan falls, the more you are hoping he'll find his way back on the path in life he was destined for.
I won't give anything away about what happens in the book as I truly recommend you read it. What I will say is the author pays fantastic attention to detail, every physical and mental feeling the character lives through, you do too and if you can read this book without shedding a few tears then I will be very surprised.
This story deserves every one of it's five bright shining stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Wowzers!! My five star review
Having read this book twice already, it's safe to say that it definitely hit my five star markings. Holy cow!
Ethan freakin Walker!! *fans face*
Ethan Walker suffered loss and struggled through life with his own battles that only he could control (I won't mention who or what as to not give away any spoilers)
This story had me reeled in from the start and I struggled to put this little beauty down even to feed my kiddies. Oops, sorry kids. Mummy really does love you.
Ethan is hot! There is no doubt about it. Pure and simple. That isn't what made this story, though. No, it was the beauty of the writing in which L J mastered perfectly. Simply stunning and heartbreaking. I felt every emotion and shed a few ugly tears along the way.
Being a huge fan of book one and two in the Road to Wonderland series, book three did not disappoint me. It was filled with love, loss, amazing friendships and laugher.
For those of you who enjoyed the first two in the series, this one is a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ethan * dreamy sighs* My No1 BBF Five Stars+ Walker.
Third book in the wonderful Wonderland series.from the first line,You are taken over by the Ethan's story and LJ's words. You are there in every scene of his story, going through it all with him,it is told that well. And what a journey she takes you on,on Ethan's road to Wonderland.Lots and lots of big laugh out loud moments, heartache that ended up with a very wet pillow from the crying. And loved every minute of it.
Whatever I try to say will not give this series or this book the recognition it so deserves. But I will say this, buy these books and start your own journey to Wonderland. It's one hell of a beautiful ride, you'll never want to get off.
