Exodus (The Ravenhood Book 2) Kindle Edition
Can you live a lie?
It’s a ghost town, this place that haunts me, the one that made me.
It’s clear to me that I’ll never outgrow Triple Falls or outlive the time I spent here.
I can still feel them all, my boys of summer.
Even when I’d sensed the danger, I gave in.
I didn’t heed a single warning. I let my sickness, my love, both rule and ruin me. I played my part, eyes wide open, tempting fate until it delivered.
There was never going to be an escape.
All of us are to blame for what happened. All of us serving our own sentences. We were careless and reckless, thinking our youth made us indestructible, exempt from our sins, and it cost us all.
I’m done pretending I didn’t leave the largest part of me between these hills and valleys, between the sea of trees that hold my secrets.
It’s the reason I’m back. To make peace with my fate.
And if I can’t grieve enough to cure myself in my time here, I’ll remain sick. That will be my curse.
But it’s time to confess, to myself more so than any other, that I’d hindered my chances because of the way I was built, and because of the men who built me.
At this point, I just want to make peace with who I am, no matter what ending I get.
Because I can no longer live a lie.

"This is the best duet of 2020! I thought I love Drive, which of course I really do. But talking about Ravenhood Duet? All bets are off, because this is my favorite book to date. Books I would love to own a paperback of and reread and relive over and over." -aNneMarLi, Chatterbooks Book Blog
"This is one unique and absolutely unforgettable love story. I cannot believe how much the characters grew. Cecelia is one of the best heroines I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I felt for her so darn much, I got teary eyed because of her. Her journey is beautiful but raw. I cannot recommend this book enough." -Lina's Reviews
"I couldn't breathe until I hit the last page of Exodus (The Ravenhood Duet #2) by Kate Stewart. Exodus picked-up exactly where Flock (The Ravenhood Duet #1) left off, without skipping a beat. Like the first book, Exodus is brilliantly written and equally seductive, savage, complex, and intense. This series is on my best of 2020 list!" -Cheri, Kindle Crack Book Reviews
"OMG guys this book, this duet was phenomenal!! Holy Crap!! I've barely slept, I look like I've been pulled through a hedge backwards and this book right here is the culprit!!" -❥ KAT ❥ Kitty Kats Crazy About Books
"This is easily the BEST duet I have ever, ever read. Kate Stewart SLAYED, and she was clearly always meant to write these books." -Jennifer Briggs, Goodreads Reviewer
"Holy hell. I just finished this book, and I'm literally gobsmacked. What a read! A raw, intense, angsty and emotional rollercoaster of a read that is such a twisty mindf*ck that I never knew what was coming. I had no idea what I was supposed to be feeling, I just know that I felt everything, and I was so sucked into this story that I couldn't put it down. What an epic conclusion to the duet!" -AJ, Goodreads Reviewer

Exodus immediately picks up where Flock left off (huge cliffhanger).. We find Cecelia meeting “The Frenchman”. She finds him both magnificent and incredibly cruel. She is perplexed by his manipulation. He’s the” man behind the curtain”, and she’s both annoyed and intrigued by his constant presence. There is an instant and distinct electricity that crackles between the two of them whether they like it or not. I personally fell in love with this Frenchman, I don’t know why… but I did! I was very mad about Cecelia’s “ Golden Sun” and her “Cool Dark Cloud” left without any explanation…. It absolutely gutted me. I love both Dom and Sean. I loved the love they all shared together. We also find that after all her heartbreak, Cecelia starts to build more confidence and starts to feel the change in herself. She lost half of her mind due to heartbreak and wants nothing to do with love ever again. She will not stop the flicker of hope she finally has of living a “normal life”, claim it as her own. She’s trying to cover her emotional scars on the surface she’s collected no matter how deep they still run.
Kate Stewart is such a mastermind with her writing… She keeps it at such an amazing slow pace that keeps you guessing ,there were surprises at every turn, from chapter 1 to the very end. Leaving you shocked, guessing just what the heck is going to happen next, such delicious and agonizing anticipation. Too many shocking turn of events and so many secrets revealed. I was completely shocked too many times to count as the story played out. There were several eargasam moments that were so utterly HOT, sensual, and erotic. I was COMPLETELY gutted in one unexpected and unwanted particular scene and I don’t know if I’ll ever get over it. I’m still feeling the effects of this book, and think I will for awhile to come. What I took away from this story was all these secrets did the most damage.
OMFG…This is duet style narration by my favorites Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden. They came to slay us all with their performances! I’ve listened to countless books these two have narrated, but this one is the best I’ve heard! It must have been very difficult for both of them to deal with all the raw emotions and excruciating pain that was dripping from their voices, but I FELT it! Maxine does the majority of the dialogue in this. Both of their voices were dripping with all the emotions a person could possibly feel.
Joe got me REAL GOOD with his range of all the different male characters. His absolutely thrilling portrayal of Tobias was flawless with his beautiful French accent. Those extremely slow drawn out whispers, so sexy but yet so spine tingling chilling. The way he says, “ I see you”…. with all that raw uncontrolled emotion, breathtaking. So demanding, overpowering, and yet I felt the vulnerability in his tone. Joe you OWNED me sir in 2 particular chapters. The rawness of his emotions, completely and utterly destroyed me like no other book has before! Such an amazing performance, so damn good!
This was by far Maxines BEST performances I’ve ever heard. She completely blew me away! I could feel and tell she put all of her heart, soul, passion, and love into her character at all times. She deserves ALL the awards. Just give them ALL to her! There were several chapters that I just ugly cried to. She made me feel all what she was saying and feeling. The way her voice quivers instinctively makes my lips quiver, and my eyes start to cry. I believed and bought into what she was saying and how she was saying it. Her character just kept on getting hit emotionally, and she’s such an amazing actress that I felt like I was going through all of it with her. Maxines performance will stay with me for quite awhile. So emotional for me, and that is extremely rare for me to feel this way about a book. Bravo! 💋
This book deeply touched me on several different levels. Made me feel furiously mad, feel deep love, obsessed, extremely frustrated, high anticipation, and finally relieved. Buy and listen to this book NOW!! What are you waiting for?
Exodus is the book of answers, so far. Cecelia had her heart broken by men she knew she would love for the rest of her life. And with that broken heart these men held, they threw it in the trash and forgot about her. They never seeked her out, despite the love they claimed they had for her. At a young, fragile and impressionable age, Cecelia is left with many questions and in Exodus, she demands answers so she can finally make peace with her past, but most of all herself. But at what cost do these answers come? With what is left of her heart, Cecelia takes a chance to finally find what secrets were worth loosing everything.
Exodus, in my opinion, was harder to get into than Flock, but about half way through it became difficult to stop reading. It’s certainly a 5 star story, but because of the slow start I deducted a star, and I love me a slow burn. Be prepared to have your heart ripped out, stomped on and thrown in the trash. I absolutely love Kate Stewart’s art of story telling. She writes in a way that takes your breath away and draws you into her book and leaves your mind reeling. With that being said, I am hesitant in going into book 3. With all the secrets finally answered, I feel Exodus was finished perfectly and I worry that the HEA I feel finishing book 2 isn’t the HAE I want for these characters. However, if you’re in the mood to truly feel everything, read this series. You will have a full heart, a broken head and a repaired heart, I can promise you that. They hype is worth everything with these books so far.
No, these are not just fictional characters in a fictional world. This entire series has altered my brain chemistry, but this book in particular. I will never emotionally recover. I still think about it daily and tear up.
Kate’s ability to bring not only these characters, but the setting to life is unmatched. She weaves an intricate tale of raw emotions. You feel these characters. Their pain is your pain. Their joy is your joy. Make no mistake, this book will annihilate you, but you will thank Kate for it.

What I will say, is this book does not disappoint in terms of excitment, it still brings you in, and you still follow Cecilia on her journey as if it's you're life. The author is able to bring you right back in and continue a beautiful storyline.
So if you've read book 2 you NEED book 2. If you're here at book 2 and not read book one, that's awful and you must start at the beginning.
Get your tissues while you're ordering this. You're going to need it.
This book earned my respect and my love and just as Cecelia, I also lost my heart to these men.
I cried myself to sleep with this book. I hadn't fell so hard for a book since Will Traynor decided to keep going with his plan despite Lou beign by his side.
Exodus made me so mad.
And then made me hurt.
And then put salt in my already bleeding wounds.
It was WONDEFUL.
I was not reading Cee's love story, I was experiencing it like it was my own.
Three men. One girl. Many, many tears shed.
I deeply recomend this book if you're into sexy, charming antiheroes with pretty eyes. And also if you LOVE to suffer to the extreme of getting permanent heart ache and have swollen eyes the next day when you show up to work.
