I live in beautiful rural Tennessee. I grew up in Wichita, Kansas and have lived all over the United States.
I have released several novels in the suspense/thriller, paranormal/supernatural thriller, and horror genres. I also have poetry and short story collections and have contributed short stories to multiple anthologies. Conduit has earned Bestseller on Amazon in the US and UK. Conduit, The Boys Club, and Chrysalis have all won highly respected awards, while Conduit, The Boys Club, and False Security have also had blogger and reader-voted awards bestowed upon them.
As a reader first, writer second, I love to discover new authors. My entire life has revolved around imaginary worlds contained within the covers of a book. My aunt introduced me to Stephen King and a little book called Christine in eighth grade, and my life was never the same. As a geek-extraordinaire, I love comics and graphic novels, and also review those, along with the occasional movie and book, as a guest contributor for Fanbase Press.

Receiving and reading her first Nancy Drew mystery book as a pre-teen, Sandy knew instinctively that she wanted to become a writer. Keeping a journal through teenage angst, young adult drama, marriage, children, divorce and work provided her with varied future story lines.
Sandy's first foray into the writing world came after the shattering loss of her son, Tyler Jordan Richards, who passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident on September 21, 2003. He was 16 and had been driving for only three months.
Through music, reading and journaling, Sandy slowly began living her "new normal" life. A new normal...radically changed world; the world of parents who have lost a child. As part of her healing process, she took on the challenge of writing a 50,000 word novel in thirty days. National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November 2010 launched her quest to put into words the true story of her love, her loss and her healing. Her manuscript is told from Tyler's unique viewpoint...through the eyes of an angel. The result of her work is chronicled in A Far Cry...From Home ~ A Mother's Journey of Love, Loss and Healing...Through the Eyes of an Angel. A Far Cry...From Home won an Honorable Mention in the Non-Fiction/Memoir category from the Readers' Favorite book awards contest. The book was also a Finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards in the Non-Fiction/Grief category.
In 2021, Sandy published a second edition to A Far Cry...From Home with a special dedication page and Afterword.
Sandy's first children's book is titled: Grammy Do... which is a whimsical rhyming story that shows the love between a grandmother and her grandchildren. The illustrations beautifully depict Sandy's two sons, her grandchildren, along with the grandchildren of her illustrator, Lori Hohmann. Grammy Do...received the Bronze Medal from the Readers' Favorite 2017 book awards in the Children-General category. Grammy Do...is also "Story Monsters Approved."
Her recently released children's book is titled: Green Snakes on the Ceiling that also uses rhyme and alliteration to make animals, colors and funny situations come alive. Green Snakes on the Ceiling has received 5-star reviews from Readers' Favorite.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really enjoyed this anthology of short stories. I don't know that I'd classify them all as horror, but for the most part they kept my eyes glued to the page. My main issue is that several of the stories were so good that they left me wishing they were novellas or full novels in some cases. They all had firm conclusions. It's just that I want more!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis collection of stories about fears couldn't have been written more perfectly. Most of these authors I was already a fan of and now I am officially a fan of the others as well. Each story had their own twists and ways of displaying these fears in a real way. The characters were believable and easy to relate to. I couldn't help the over power feeling of wanting to climb in the book and protect these characters. These fears are real and people suffer from them every day. As a person with some of these fears I appreciate the way each author wrote their story with care and compassion. These stories are intense and very suspenseful. They will keep you on the edge of your seat needing to know what happens next. Some are beautifully heart breaking while others are fantastically frightening. I can't recommend it enough. An absolute must read

5.0 out of 5 stars All in all, an awesome collection.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhat attracted me to this book was the fact that all proceeds are going to a mental health charity. Well, okay, I loved the cover and blurbs as well.
What I loved most is the fact I loved the stories. There is a great mix here, but the one that stands out for me is Heather Osborne's offering.
It chilled me in it's realism, and I genuinely felt for the protagonist, and hated the antagonist...I mean, really hated.
The twist at the end tho...wow! I NEVER saw that coming.
All in all, an awesome collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Carnival that will never leave you the same.....
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was a fantastic read by numerous Authors, some of which i am familiar with and some who were new to me. This type of book is not something i usually read but im so glad i did because i absolutely LOVED it!!
Out of all the books within this anthology The first Step - by Marisa Oldham and Angie Martin stood out as my favorite and I have to say I absolutely loved it!
Adelle was a typical teenager in love with her boyfriend and living life when a day at a carnival changed her life forever.
Trapped by crippling fear is left to live on her own when her sister and aunt can no longer help her.
Wyatt has patience and time and helps Adelle to recover and gain confidence once more, gaining the strength and confidence to go outside of her home - something she hasn't done in 4 years. But perception and trust can be be deceiving and not what it seems....
I loved this story and it had me turning the pages until there were no more, fantastic read that has a serious plot twist.
