No matter how much independence I gain, my parents keep trying to pull me back into their world. I don’t want anything to do with their wealth or their expectations. I’m much happier being my own person. I’ve avoided the hoity toity holiday events for the last few years, but this year it’s unavoidable. My mother’s made sure of it.

I don’t want to be on the arm of someone Mother deems respectable for charity events and family dinners, but I don’t have much choice. At least, not until Maddox steps in and offers to be my date. I don’t know if bringing a fake date is going to do the trick, but it’s better than being arm candy for a snobby douche who doesn’t even like me.

If I can get through this holiday season unscathed, I can go back to my life. If I can ignore how much I wish things between Maddox and I weren’t fake, I might even get through it with my whole heart too.

Work has kept me busy for years, but the rewards have been worth it. Or so I thought. Once Axel, my business partner and best friend, found the love of his life I started to realize that I’ve been missing out. I hate feeling left out of the good stuff, but the right woman hasn’t come along yet.

    Poor Penelope. Her life before meeting the Banks Inc family was horrible due to her biological family. Maddox to the rescue! Great love story that shows love as it should be, not as Penelope thought. Ember Davis brings all the feels to the characters, same as she does with all of the other Banks Inc, Higgins Security, and Suburban Outcasts Series. These series are all part of each other and more fun to read in suggested order, but can be read alones.

    I will never understand how parents can treat their children this way. Especially Penny’s mother!! She’s a real piece of work. Maddox came in on his white horse and saved his “Lucky Penny”. What Penny thought was fake was really Maddox worming his way to her heart. For him he felt the “click” as soon as he seen her looking so sad and defeated.
    Such a sweet story!! I love these characters!!

    Fate brought Maddox into Penelope's life right when she needed him. Blackmailed by her shallow, emotionally unavailable parents, she needs help. When Maddox hears the situation, he is determined to help her. He makes a foolish misstep in allowing his Lucky Penny to think he is just helping her out. The emotional abuse of her parents has crippled her ability to trust anyone with her truest self. Once upon a time I would have found that to be annoying or farfetched. But this kind of torment really warps a person's whole life. I was so pleased that Maddox gave her the time, space and support she needed to work through her issues. While their road to happy ever after wasn't the smoothest, it was so richly deserved, 5 stars!

    I love being back in Banks Ink series and Penelope and Maddox’s story was so worth the wait. Their story was filled with sweet and steamy moments with loads of emotions throughout the storyline. She is wanting to be independent from her negative parents when Maddox comes into her life at a perfect time when she needed to be protected. I love that he showed her that she is meant to be loved and deserved to find her HEA, but will it be with him? One click to find out in this newest release that doesn’t disappoint.
