About the authors
Steven C. Davis is the creator of ‘The Sælvatici’ which includes ‘Lore of the Sælvatici’, ‘The Littlest Krampus’, ‘Barrow witch’ and more, and is a folk-horror retelling of the Robin Hood mythos. They are also the creator and author of the ‘Less than Human’ shape-shifter series, set in the UK,
They are the Creative Director of Tenebrous Texts, a small imprint working with a global range of authors and storytellers. They cover a range of speculative, alternative and dark fiction works.
They are also one half of the gothic poetry duo, ‘Poetic Malevolence’, which also features Laura Jane Round.
Raised on a diet of Tolkien, Doctor Who, and Agatha Christie, Alexandrina Brant grew up around the city of Oxford, and, as such, has a particular love for Oxford-based stories. After graduating from the University of Reading with joint honours in Psychology & Philosophy, she hightailed it to London to study a Master's in Linguistics at UCL, where her focus was sociolinguistics and dialect blending. Occasionally, she can still be heard quoting Ovid in English or Latin.
She currently lives in Yorkshire with her husband and two warring cats, where she gives out financial advice to construction workers during the day and daydreams about fantasy lives at night. Her short stories have been published in several local anthologies and she is working on a Steampunk novel about a linguist's journey to rescue her fiance and a Doctor-Who-esque sci fi about lesbian aliens trying to save a corrupt planet.
She is most active on Twitter - @caelestia_flora & Instagram - @lingua_fabularum
Kate writes novels and short stories that range from humorous sci-fi to dystopian visions, cybercrime and urban horror, and also serious non-fiction (as Kate R Baucherel).
She has been embedded in sci-fi since childhood, from her first glimpse of the Daleks from behind the sofa aged five through listening to the BBC Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy broadcasts and being blown away by the first scenes of Star Wars on its original release. As a child she wrote her own Dr Who and Star Wars stories and occasional scripts for friends to act out in the park. She progressed to reading her dad’s collection of Wyndham, Bradbury, Clarke, Heinlein and Asimov before discovering Iain Banks, David Brin, Terry Pratchett and so much more. Kate works with emerging technologies and future visions and sometimes it's hard to separate the day job from fiction!
C K Roebuck is an electronic engineer by trade and originally from South Yorkshire though he has resided in County Durham for over twenty years. Craig took to writing after many years of reading when a couple of friends convinced him to write for Harvey. He is currently working on his first novel, Sleep, a Sci-fi set in the not too distant future where a suspended animation experiment goes a bit wonko. Craig has several short stories published in previous anthologies, the latest can be found in Harvey Duckman Presents: Rum & Rosemary
Keith has been writing stories since his schooldays, winning competitions and writing for a variety of publications and anthologies. He has been a magazine designer, typographer, art editor, trainer and technical consultant to many creative consultancies. He is currently a paid blogger and publisher of SteamPaper.
Author of the Hannibal Smyth Misadventures, The Ballad of Maybes series and his first two books, Passing Place and Cider Lane, Mark Hayes writes novels that often defy simple genre definitions; they could be described as speculative fiction, though Mark would never use the term as he prefers not to speculate.
When not writing novels, Mark once had fleeting renown as a dancer on the shores of midnight and was born on the same day that Lovecraft died, though he swears these events are not related.
He is also a 9 n’tupence Dan Black Belt in the ancient Yorkshire martial art of EckEThump, favours black eyeliner and believes in a one man one vote system but has yet to supply the name of the man in question.
Mark has also been known to not take writing his bio very seriously.
Ben Sawyer is a writer of paranormal fiction who has lived in and around York for 15 years, and this ancient and unique city has grown very close to his heart. After 20 years gainfully employed in the media, he has decided to document the strange world lurking in York’s dark snickelways, and take a funhouse mirror to its history.
