...is how Marissa describes her books when asked. She doesn't seek to write any particular genre, style, or length, only following her gut instincts and the lead of her characters. The Life of Anna crosses many genre lines including erotica, suspense, psychological thriller, horror, political conspiracy, paranormal, and romance. Marissa's story of Anna began with a dream about being kidnapped with Adam Savage from Mythbusters (Yes, really). Over the next year and a half, it morphed into the story that is now known as "The Life of Anna." She has also published Distorted Hope, which is based on her kidnapped dream. Abandoned Grace was published last year as a side story to The Life of Anna.

Marissa stays busy running her household, fending off two adorable kittens, and interacting with her readers on social media. She is a self-proclaimed geek and is striving to learn the basics of graphic design. She is also actively pursuing a more natural lifestyle, which includes essential oils, natural cleaning products, and whole, organic foods. Marissa's addictions include the Science and History Channels, anything chocolate mint, vintage books, cute kitty cats and laughter.

    OK... so there is a reason that Marissa Honeycutt is one of my all time FAVORITE authors, and this book continues to prove why! I loved The Life of Anna, so when Master of My Body came out, naturally, I inhaled that without even tasting it. LOL Master of My Heart was my most anticipated release thus far this year and reading it was almost as good as having sex! The dark twisted depravity of the story was so deliciously written. The angst level in this book is OFF the charts! This is one of those books that you take off work on release day so that you can indulge in the wonder and thrill of the world that Marissa has created for her characters, who by the way, love making cameo appearances in other books! So if you haven't read The Life of Anna, I highly recommend you do, so that you can have a better understanding and love for the characters that I was so happy to read more about. I don't want to give any spoilers about the book away, but I can tell you that you are in for one hell of an emotional ride when you dive into one of Marissa's books. Buckle Up, there are twists and turns where you least expect them!

    Wow. The author just pushed me and my morals. I will be vague and probably all over the place since I just finished the book, so I apologize if I am. My emotions may be everywhere,

    Dark Romance is my favorite trope, the darker, the better, and I want the author to push my limits and question my morals. It has only happened a few times. So I welcome and embrace it when it happens. The author did that to be in The Life Of Anna. So when I saw the author had a new series and book three and the final book in the series was coming out, sign me up, I am ready to fall down the dark hole. I knew going in the book this is not as dark as Anna’s; trust me, I was still nervous going in. On my dark scale, it's between black to pitch black.

    I suggest if you're interested in this series, keep an open mind, go in blind and brace yourself. Think outside the normal. I mean, what is normal anyway? If you want normal, and it's okay if you do, this is not for you.

    Pay attention to all the details; at times, the characters are confused, and you will too. Sabrina is my hero, and I am in complete awe of her strength, along with her being naive at times. I wanted to yell at her so many times and stab the villain over and over again. Along with other violent thoughts that came to my mind, He was so close but so far away, being the puppet master. Chase is so patient and kind. You can't help but fall in love with him. The build-up in the book killed me. It had to do more with me; I needed to know what happened asap. But everything fell into place as it should have. The ending killed me, as I need more. So I will be sitting on the edge of my chair, bouncing, fidgeting, trying to wait patiently for the final book.

    If you're into dark, blurred lined stories this collection is a friggin keeper. So first of all, WTF! I read The Life of Anna and was hopelessly ensnared with the evil vs. good, secret society theme. Seriously Devin was pure evil, I was so happy when he got what he deserved. Now this is on a whole other level of depravity. These evil Immortals need to be banished to the other realm. Sabrina's Master is a serious contender for most feared villian I've read thus far. This story is hypnotic and addictive, at least Devin seemed limited in his powers. This new guy is equipped with a 2,000 yr old plot of stewing revenge. There were plenty of times I had to just stop and gather my poor broken heart to super glue it back together. If you are easily triggered by rape, kidnapping, murder, or monster sized c***, DO NOT READ THIS! This is not for faint of heart, my heart skipped a beat in fear when I read:

    Please take your time in creating your next masterpiece, my heart needs a break until Sabrina & Chase come back.

    The character development continued to build. While the author poured so much into Sabrina and Chase, it is even more phenomenal the amount of depth she adds to the secondary characters. As Marissa Honeycutt presents the most detailed world possible, it means quite a cast of characters. Yet each one was vivid. Between that level of detail on character development and world building, the author transforms words into what passes for reality.

    The storyline itself is dark, depraved, cruel and yet so absolutely perfect. I was on the edge of my seat as the author excelled at throwing in curves. It is an original premise, which I really love and her words flow naturally. I can't imagine what will happen in book 3 and can only say that I need it!

    5 stars for cringe-worthy darkness, heart stopping suspense and captivating read!

    Marissa Honeycutt writes dark and twisted romances that will literally keep you on the edge of your seat quickly turning pages. This was certainly no exception as the story of Sabrina and Chase continues in book two of the series. Poor Sabrina was kidnapped in the first book by the evil Master and his minions and has been in exile for over five years. Chase who had fallen for her when she they met five years ago has been in the military service and badly wounded but has been searching for her since he was aware she went missing. So much happens in this installment that will make you feel for Sabrina as she bears some much torture and it seems she will never be able to escape the monster that has her in his grip. This book ends on a big cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next in the series so Marissa please write quickly!!

    I’ve been eagerly awaiting Book Two in this series and it definitely was worth the wait. Once again it’s an extremely dark story crammed full of depravity but also of hope. It’s got everything, suspense, erotica, horror, supernatural forces and great main characters in Sabrina and Chase. I devoured it in two sittings, it would have been one but real life got in the way unfortunately! I can’t wait to read the next instalment in this amazing series.

    Not for everyone so be careful going in. I advise reading book 1 before you go into book 2 as it makes more sense that way.

    I loved book 2, but i got lost a few times reading book 1 about Sabrina. It kept jumping about and i felt i was missing information pertinent to the story. She is an excellent writer though and I'm hooked on her style of writing. When are books 3 and 4 being published? I prefer to read a series all at once.
