Christian Sears didn't believe in love. He spent his days touring and playing with his band mates whom he considered family and who accepted his passion for music, instead of being the man his father wanted him to be. He was smart - book smart - and as sexy as hell.

Melody Sullivan's world revolve around books and research and her nana. Deviating to another world would falter her hopes and dreams of finding a cure for something she have fully invested on. She was a control-freak, she had dreams, she had plans. Falling in love with a bass guitarist wasn't part of that plan.

My heart is all over the place right now, but in a good way. This story is so heartfelt and keeps on sending shivers down my spine. Christian had me swooning from the moment he spouted Star Wars trivia and since then, I haven't stopped thinking about him.

Fall With Me is book 2 of the Sixth Street Bands series, but it's my 3rd book by Jayne Frost. I know I wasn't able to read this series chronologically, but that's okay since this can be read as a standalone. Initially, I was rooting for Chase Noble because he's too hot to handle. But now that I met Christian, I just have to forget about Chase. Because I think Christian is the one.

You want to know he truth? I actually have a weakness for bad boys with brains and brawns. I find geek guys sexy. I dig guys in glasses acting all nerdy and hunky at the same time.  I like listening to them spurting uncommon knowledge while flexing those muscles. Yup, I'm weird like that. And that's why I love Christian. Yes, I believe I fell in love with Mr. Wikipedia himself.  I was totally drooling and swooning and melting by the time I finished reading this book.

And of course, I also like Melody, the woman who knocked down his world and got him to say those three little words. Although I had hoped that her diabetic condition was further discussed, and Christian's father issues were further amplified, i was more than happy when I met her Nana, Mo. The tears in my eyes couldn't stop flowing down, i had to let it all out, until the last page, right down to the author's special dedication to her own nana.  OMG, I haven't cried hard in a long time, until today. I think I've fallen in love with both the characters and the author herself. This was just so perfectly beautiful!

This was a rock romance that brought out something additional to the “normal” rocker books. This one gave you a little inside look at a disease many have and I felt it was done with great taste. Even with that aside it gave you a rocker that was not only hot and could get any girl he wanted just like the rest of his bandmates. Christian was a little different than most rockers and had been labeled as a nerd by some of those close to him; the man was very smart which he needed to be in order to keep pace with the woman who happened into his life. Melody was going to school on a scholarship and was determined to do research work on another health ailment that hit close to her heart. They met at a fast food place and Melody ended up losing her job as a cashier there after making an overheard snide comment to Christian. It was at that point that Christian realized what a little spit fire this girl was. She definitely wasn’t like any of his usual groupies. The banter between these two was pretty funny at times and very endearing.

Would Christian and Melody find a place in each other’s worlds or would that prove to be too much for them to work through? Then add in the idea of Melody’s health issues along with her determination to live a normal life, how would any rock star be able to understand and accept what Melody would need if you wanted to be a part of her life. Don’t get me wrong because you were given the dose of the rock world that many of use rock romance lovers want in our books. It was just refreshing to add in another element and one of such importance. The supporting characters have a story to come too I hope. Very well done and looking forward to more books from Ms. Frost.

I received this book as an ARC and freely give my honest review.

"Fall with Me" is the second book in the Sixth Street Bands series by Jayne Frost, but it is not necessary to read book #1 first. Christian is a member of the band Caged, but is also ridiculously smart and, of course, really hot. He meets the prickly Melody in the University library. Sparks fly immediately, but neither Christian or Mel do anything but casual. However, they are soon spending almost every night with each other. There's a small wrinkle - Mel is diabetic and not quite at peace with her disease. This causes complications between the lovers because Mel's pride gets in the way. She doesn't want Christian to see her as "broken". How can he convince her that's the last thing he would think of her and to accept his feelings are genuine? I really liked this book. Christian and Mel have chemistry that leaps off the page. They are great, three-dimensional characters. The supporting characters - the other members of the band - are well-rounded and serve as more than window dressing. They help drive the story in some critical ways. Mel's struggle with accepting her diabetes is a real struggle many people have in real life. It adds depth to a character who could have come across as arrogant and rude. And Christian's caring is swoon-worthy. I read the first book prior to this one, and I liked this one so much I'm definitely getting the rest of the series. You should try them out! (I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for a voluntary, honest review.)

Not as gripping as Lily and Cameron but still an epic story. Many books can go wrong when the characters get together too fast but this one worked really well. Talented author with great story development. Finished in few hours! Onto the next one...

2.0 out of 5 stars Gloomy book, with no rock nor genius
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 1, 2020
I was very excited to read about a rockstar who is also a genius. Sadly, this isn’t Goodwill Hunting, the rock version.

Christian could have been a normal guy or a football player or class mate. It would have made an imperceptible difference who the character was, as the story contained a meager amount of “rockness”.

Regrettably, his intellect was also flaccid. His “genius” was limited to general knowledge supplemented with a poor understanding of mathematical statistics. If only, more thought went into creating a truly brilliant rockstar.

Mel’s character was dreary. I know a few diabetics and none of them feel insecure or have issues with the diagnosis. So, it feels more like Mel has a stick up her coot than anything. She reminds me of a female Lord Farquaad (from Shrek) for some reason. Probably too much pride and ego to hide her insecurities, wanting to bring Christian down with her.

There are a lot of strands in this story which weren’t explored. In some way I was glad as the story was a bit bleak, depressing and flat.

The author has a personal connection to the story, so it pains me to write a negative review. But, if someone warned me before reading it, it would have saved me a few hours and a lot of gloom.
