- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis wonderful book gives many prompts to help inspire your young author to write the next best-selling fairy book. Well, perhaps not to that extreme, but it is a fabulous start. It provides the aspiring author with lead ins like how would you instruct your friends to make fairy medicine, what stories would you tell a fairy, and my personal favorite was how you would explain a blank page if to your teacher since the fairies that helped you with your homework only use invisible ink. These are only a very few examples of some questions to get those creative juices flowing.
Wendy Scott, thank you for sharing the witty and imaginative side of being a writer. Fun for all!!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseGrowing up as a child I used to love writing all sorts of stories. However, as I got older other stuff got in my way and it wasn’t until after I’d been retired for almost three years that I finally had self-published my first romance novel.
We all know how creative the minds of children can be, especially when it comes to telling stories from the top of their heads, and for a young girl, fairies would be a wonderful subject to tell stories about since they’re already love pretending to be one.
I found this book to be a wonderful way in which parents can have their daughter [albeit my dear OH and I don’t have any] truly stimulate their imagination to write something specific regarding a fairy [fairies], instead of doing it haphazardly. Writing prompts, such as the 31, the author gives in this, is a good starting point for parents [usually the mothers] to use in having their daughters write their stories, before giving them some of their own ideas.
I, myself, found writing prompts a marvelous way of breaking through the bouts of writing blocks I’d experienced in writing my books and manuscripts.
Who knows, this book might become an impetus in their possibly becoming an aspiring author when they grow up. If is for this reason I’m giving Ms. Scott the 5 STARS I’ve given her.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMy review follows the book blurb found on Amazon.
“31 Fairy Writing Prompts to ignite your imagination.
Have fun creating fairy stories to share with your family and friends.”
This is a fun activity book for kids, most for girls but some boy activities found. Scott writes out fantasy paragraphs which are followed by pages of line so that kids can write in their thoughts, make it “their story”. The eBook I read, showed black and white drawings. I have no idea what the paperback has as far as black and white or color. Color drawings create more imagination in child, though. Four stars!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have been eyeballing this book for a very long time. I am so happy to finally read this book. As someone who loves to encourage children to use their imaginations in whatever way they can, this book made me so happy. These prompts are simple enough for younger viewers to understand, but entertaining for older children who want to write too. As a writer myself, I wanted to write a book about fairies and the messes that they cause! Great collection of ideas to inspire aspiring authors or even just a whimsical imagination brainstorm session! Thanks Wendy!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is another fantastic writing prompts book from Author W.J. Scott (the second in her Aspiring Authors Series). This time, the writing prompts revolve around fairies and magic. This book is equally as wonderful as the first book, with fun and challenging ideas. More entertainment for the whole family to enjoy together.
Just as with the first book of the series, I highly recommend picking up a copy for the littles in your family.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have already begun to write short stories with my granddaughter. It is so much fun and easier than I thought. The author is so very talented and explains the process of writing these stories easily. My granddaughter and I are having so much fun just writing the descriptions of different Fairies, the houses they live in and imagining what kind of foods they eat. You will love this book!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA nice collection of activities to spark a child’s imagination. We have had a great time creating our own collection wandering our way through these prompts. My oldest is excited to continue through the book while my younger child has fun just drawing at the table with the family. A great alternative to screen time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fairy Writing Prompts
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhat a great little book. Granted I don't have a daughter, but there are plenty of things a boy may adapt and take from this too.
