The Fall of a God : An Enemies to Lovers High School Romance (The Boys of Clermont Bay Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 2,186 ratings

Innocent. Blameless. Pure. Heartbroken. Josie Vos belonged to the one family I hated more than anything.

And I had forced her to despise me just as much.

It didn't matter that I had lost track of my plan and fallen for my enemy.

Irrevocably hurt and enraged by my deceit, she had no intentions of doing anything but watching me lose my throne.

The secrets of our families can never be forgotten.

I knew that from the beginning, but I refuse to allow the sins of our families to determine our future.

I should have left her alone and let her hate me.
I didn't.

I was going to fight for her, even if she now held all the power.

★★★★★ "Wow! Wow! WOW! Holly Renee's books keep blowing me away! I was a goner for The Fall a God, an achingly addictive, deliciously devious, heart-hitting masterpiece with all the Romeo and Juliet meets Cruel Intentions vibes. All-consuming. I was hit like a hurricane, with emotionally-raging words that engulfed me straight in the feels and a powerful pull that's unstoppable. A love story that was both my storm and sun, I basked in its rage and radiance. I needed Beck and Josie's story like air to breathe, as The Fall of a God felt like my oxygen ... this love story is life!!!" -Karen Mc

★★★★★ "This is what I look for in a romance book. No question this is Holly's best book to date! I was held captive throughout this entire story and never wanted it to end. The intensity in this novel is extraordinary and can't be matched. The chemistry between Beck and Josie is pure FIRE. Holly has perfected the art of push and pull and steamy sexual chemistry that is sure to leave you a mess! I will never be over this story!" -KatiesKindleAddictions

★★★★★ "The chemistry ignites and these two could burn the house down." -Keri Loves Books

★★★★★ "The Fall of a God is amazingly written from the first word to the last, I was glued to my kindle and there was nowhere else I'd rather be. An enthralling blend of magnetic chemistry, an alpha-hole hero, a sassy heroine, a riveting storyline full of angst, OMGs, a few whispered wtfs, ALL THE FEELS, intriguing secondary characters, and decadently hot steam.Holly Renee has created a world that within a few words you're wholly immersed and wishing that it wouldn't end, and those are the ABSOLUTE best reads." -Book Boyfriend and Husband Make Three

★★★★★ "I really couldn't put this book down, I devoured every page and every twist and turn, this couple were so darned hot, the sparks were flying !! This was so much more than I expected. Love, healing, lies and secrets, friends and family, it was the whole package !!! Page by page I just escaped further and further into their world." -Eileen Robinson

Perfect conclusion to this duet!
⚾️Enemies-to-Lover ⚾️Second Chance . "Josie was mine, and I would do whatever it took to make her see it that way again." . Review: This is book 2 in The Boys of Clermont Bay. You must have read book 1, The Touch of a Villain, in order to read this book. It picks up right where the cliffhanger from book 1 leaves off. The cliffhanger killed me having to wait and now we finally have the conclusion to Josie and Beck's story. This book, actually this duet, was so addicting that I never wanted to put it down! This duet is definitely my favorite of Holly's work that I've read. . In book 1 we learn of the true hatred that Beck has for a certain someone and what he will do to get revenge. Not caring about collateral damage. And the fallout of his actions are huge, so we are left wondering what will happen next? Book 2 covers Josie and Beck making their way back to each other. But Josie doesn't forgive Beck for his epic mistake so easily. She was strong, stood her ground and made him work for it. I was so proud of her. Sadly, I think she was stronger than I would be.🤣 Although seeing the groveling is the best. So maybe I could. "She had the power to destroy me if she wanted. She held all the power, and I was completely at her mercy." "There is only one place I wanted to be and that was with her." Beck realizes how much he truly messed up and let the one person that meant so much to him slip through his fingers. Now he will do anything to get her back. I loved jealous, protective, possessive Beck. Gimme gimme! He was fire! Then there was the chemistry between Josie and Beck, it was scorching. Locker Room anyone?😏 The internal battles were the best. We also learn the full story behind what caused the hatred and the truth of what really happened. Secrets are revealed and the snakes hiding in the grass are discovered. I loved all the secondary characters as well and I NEED their books so badly! Olly and Frankie have stolen my heart. After all, Brothers Best Friend is my FAVORITE trope! You don't want to miss this duet! Or this series!!!

I loved the story of Josie and Beck. They always overcome what seems like impossible life hurdles. They have that unworldly electricity between them, no matter who or what tries to break them they are like two magnets that can’t be
pulled apart. The whole story brought me back to high school and all the super hot baseball players. Swoon. And sigh. Because I think I did high school all wrong!! LOL I also adore the friendships that formed between Josie, Allie, and Frankie. There is so much beauty and joy in finding true friends, especially after suffering so many heartbreaks. I think this element was essential to the plot and I’m so glad it came together the way it did.

I have a couple of criticisms, which for me, didn’t impact how great the story was but I think they are worth mentioning. First I really think there should be a trigger warning. While it didn’t bother me personally, I think that it may bother other people who may have been a victim of sexual assault or revenge porn. I would hate for the book to get a bad review because a reader wasn’t warned beforehand. The story did get a little wordy at times and there was several repeated phrases used between both the MMC and the MFC. It tended to blend the characters personalities and inner monologue. I would have liked a little more conversation between the all the characters as well. Like I said before none of things changed how much I enjoyed the journey, and I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. I look forward to reading the next installments to the the series to find how the story evolves around Carson & Allie and Olly & Frankie.

I really enjoyed Josie and Beck’s conclusion. I want more of them and can’t wait to read the next in the series. Again, this is a bully HS romance so if that’s not your jam, then you probably won’t like this. If you do like it, this is a solid duet I’d recommend. A few things here or there bugged me — some of the writing could have used a little clean up and some of the character choices were frustrating but that I just chalked up to it being a HS romance. They’re not perfect, they will make mistakes.

Beck definitely makes a lot of bad choices when it comes to Josie, but you can tell he does truly love her at the end of the day. Josie definitely didn’t give her forgiveness easily but her pull to Beck is all-consuming. I love the group of friends, the small beach town feel, and will definitely be reading the other books!

There are books that you read and when you are done you go that was good and move on with your life and then there are books that will stay with you forever, that will make you feel like they have embedded a piece of themselves in your heart and that is what this book did for me.
My favorite book of thus far. My heart literally hurt when I finished the book, I wasn't ready to be done with Beck and Josie and I can't wait to hear more about them once the other characters books come out. I really loved this book and the series as a whole. At moments I literally wanted to punch Beck in the face for hurting Josie, my heart literally hurt when he hurt Josie after the Cabin trip, I literally felt my heart break. I'm glad that Josie made his grovel for most of the book and didn't go easy on him. I love that she form a Friendship with Frankie, I love Frankie and can't wait to hear more from her. I'm upset that Lucas never paid for what he did to Frankie, I also hate Josie's father. I loved loved loved Becks parents and I'm so happy they helped Josie out. Gosh I really wish this book never ended. Seriously best book of the year. Do yourself a favor a read the series you won't be disappointed. You will cry, feel like your heart is breaking, be angry but it's all worth it.

This book was slightly better than the one before it. Beck is a big dummy though. Johnny Kavanaugh never would have treated his woman like Beck treated Josie. I admit I have a problem by comparing every book series to the Boys of Tommen, but I have zero shame. It was an interesting story line, but I wanted to smack some sense into Beck.

The Fall of a God is the amazing conclusion of Josie & Beck. We know that Josie’s life as been upended between losing her mom and coming to live with a dad she hardly knows but the unexpected appearance of Beck Clermont in her life has totally turned it upside down.
Beck has always been popular when it comes to his peers, always looking out for his family and friends but when Josie appears in his life she doesn’t turn out to be the person he thought she would be and she becomes so much more.
Josie & Beck shouldn’t care for the other and so many things happen that would lead them to believe it but the attraction they feel towards the other is real, but can two people who shouldn’t be together try and prove it to everyone including themselves that maybe it’s meant to be and everyone in their lives will have to accept it because finding a HEA should be what they truly want.

I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out. I was very surprised by the twist towards the end. Beck did a full 180 throughout this book, which was needed. I am looking forward to the rest of the groups stories.

I stayed up until 2 AM so I could finish reading this book. I couldn’t put this down and I had to finish it in one sitting.

What I loved about this book was the redemption arc of Beck, our beloved hero. In the first book, he was blinded by hatred and revenge and he messed up real bad. This book was about he owned up to his mistake.

It’s not only Beck who goes through a transformation but Frankie as well. And I’m so glad for her given all that she has been through.

Our heroine, Josie, is still admirable as ever. Despite the heartbreak and the humiliation, she remains true to herself.

This book made me feel so emotional. It’s not so often that a book touches me at a deeper level. I cried a bit and I was rooting for Beck the whole time. I tried to read slower but at the same time I wanted to know the ending already so I could finally get some closure.

If you’re into enemies-to-lovers high school romance, you have got to read this duet. It’s an amazing read. Five stars!

Oh wow.. the second book in the Boys of Clermont Bay was even better than the first! I absolutely adored every single page of it! It kicks straight off where the first one finished and gets straight back in to the drama.

I loved the evolution and development of the characters and their relationship. Josie and Beck both grew so much during this book and it was so lovely to read.

God, Beck! He was just so swoon worthy but also brooding and had a dark edge to him. I loved how he softened as the story evolved and he grew to love Josie. It was just the best!

And Josie.. she dealt with so much betrayal from those closest to her but handled it amazingly and was so strong. She was a brilliant character too!

I honestly love this series and can’t wait for more books to come! This one definitely set it up for some more stories with the side characters and I’m so excited for an announcement about them! 💓
