    We get more locations, new characters and emotional revelations! The characters we know and love (or hate) were given more depth and a lot to do.
    If you love magic, animals, magical animals and plots to save the world from evil societies, this series is engrossing and I highly recommend it.

    I couldn't stop reading this, my daughter is also reading this and we are both captivated with the story. The ending was amazing and left me hankering for the last part. I will be very sorry to see it end.

    On a "break" from bounty hunting, Cressida is bored meandering around her home until she's mysteriously visited by a fox - in which she learns the fox needs her help - but wary of the fox, she declines to help; even at Florettes behest. This sets off a new chain of events that separates her from everyone she knows, forces her to make hard decisions, and place trust in new people; all ultimately leading back to Annie and her followers - again. This book had me fooled as I didn't expect the twist! I liked the addition of Kitsune and lore, and I like that in each book we get to learn more and more about their world and magic as the characters do themselves. Like the rest of this series, there is action, magic, good world-building, consistent pace, well written character dynamics, a slow burn budding "true mates" (no spice) and found family! Looking forward to book four to see how it wraps up!

    Chasing Tails is the best book yet in The Familiar's Legacy series!!

    All three of these books have been wonderful cozy fantasy reads full of warmth, humor, and intrigue - and this one did not disappoint. In fact, I feel that Carter has made huge strides with this book to move the story futher. We see a side of Cressida that we have not yet come across and her character goes through some important and necessary character development that makes going into the next book extremely exciting.

    I also feel like this book made a lot of progress in bringing in the side characters to more of a focal point, though I would LOVE to get some chapters from Grimm or Fluerette's POV. We got more Gavin and the kids and even introduced some new characters... dare I even say, a love triangle! I think I speak for everyone when I say... can Grimm just become human already?!?!?

    What an emotional rollercoaster this book was! As this is the third book in a four book series, I might call this Cressida's low point. You know, the moment in the story when the protagonist's flaws lead them to irreversible consequences, and all they can do is learn and grow. I was so mad at her, but in the end it was great to see her battle her own demons and come out a better person in the end. The author doesn't hold punches in showing the complexity of humans, with Cressida and in her other characters. Great writing! I also really loved how the magic expanded in this book, bringing in new creatures and new concepts that were really fun to read and imagine (particularly a particular pocket...). Can't wait to see how it all wraps up!

    Sincerely, these books get better and better. Carter succeeds every time in surprising me with the plot twists. I love the characters, I love the adventure, and I love the was Cressida curses: "Furballs! Furry, furry furballs!" I've taken that one into my own lexicon. Thanks, Ms. Carter!

    I loved the first two books in ‘The Familiar’s Legacy’ series, so looked forward to reading the third, and it didn’t disappoint! What can I say? I loved this one too. The characters continue to grow and develop, the exploration of their relationship dynamics nicely balanced against all the thrills and spills of the exciting plot. With such a great cast, it’s hard to choose a favourite character, but I think Grimm just edges it for me (though I do adore Cressida and Gavin!) Don’t miss these books if you enjoy mythology-inspired fantasy set in an interesting world. This is a fantastic, well-written series, and I’ve already ordered book four, as I can’t wait to discover how Cressida resolves a certain conundrum, amongst other things!
