Fate Interrupted (Moonstone Cove Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 3,753 ratings

It’s paranormal women’s fiction for lovers of magic, mayhem, and a solid afternoon nap (when they can squeeze one in.)

She had her life all planned out; fate had other ideas.

How did an accomplished Southern businesswoman, wife, and mother end up living on California’s Central Coast, working for a stubborn wine-maker, newly divorced, and wrestling with sudden psychic powers? Megan Carpenter asks herself that same question nearly every day.

She’s working her way back to the business world and starting her own event planning business, but fate keeps throwing her curveballs. Her ex has an unexpected new girlfriend, her telekinetic powers keep short-circuiting, and her self-control—at least when it comes to her boss, Nico Dusi—is slipping. Thank goodness she has the two best friends in the world.

With Katherine and Toni at her side, Megan is determined to keep her plans on track, even when at unexpected theft at the winery threatens the new business she’s building. When Nico asks Megan, Toni, and Katherine for help finding the thief, life in Moonstone Cove gets even more mind-bending.

Experimental grape clones, industrial espionage, and bizarre blood stains. Even for three psychic friends, this mystery may be more than they can handle on their own.

Fate Interrupted is the third book in the Moonstone Cove series, a paranormal women’s fiction series by USA Today bestseller Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Glimmer Lake series and the Elemental Legacy.

My favorite Moonstone Cove book! Nico and Megan have
wonderful chemistry and it was a pleasure to read.
--This Literary Life

This was by far my favorite in the series.
--Holly, Goodreads reviewer

A
fast paced, excellently written story that had me intrigued from start till the last page.
--Konny, Goodreads reviewer

Cute As Can Be! I was looking forward to Megan's book... It's a romance book too, but to me it's more focused on the
women's friendship. It was so much fun to be inside Megan's head.
--Books at Tiffany's

I am glad it wasn't my Fate to be Interrupted whilst reading this awesome book!
--Kimberly, Goodreads reviewer

Fate Interrupted was fun, exciting, and full of found family, real family, passion, and excitement.
--Norma's Nook

Nico and Megan are so funny, I love them, they're hilarious, and they're cute, and
they're HOT! ...If you haven't read this series, you're missing out.
--MJ, Goodreads reviewer

Megan's "
sugar and spice" personality makes her a character that you cannot help but adore and Nico is a perfect match.
--Maegs in Wonderland

The dialogue is
witty, clever & at times hilarious.
--Lin, Goodreads reviewer

The fact that a book about theft, sociopaths and murder can give you the
warm fuzzies is kinda weird. But Elizabeth Hunter manages it.
--Sassafrack, Goodreads reviewer

Fate Interrupted is the third book in the Moonstone Cove series and
just as awesome as the first two. Megan is part of an awesome trio of ladies.
--Carrie, Goodreads reviewer

From the Author

You get to read Megan's story! I really hope you loved it. I love these ladies so much, it was like visiting old friends to be back with them. Don't forget to find my other Paranormal Women's Fiction, Glimmer Lake, on Amazon today.
And speaking of old friends, I'm writing the next Ben and Tenzin book right now, so I hope you keep an eye out for
The Bone Scroll in Fall of this year.

Another cozy, coastal mystery
5 out of 5 stars
Another cozy, coastal mystery
This is the third book in Elizabeth Hunter’s entertaining Moonstone Cove trilogy about three very different women who have become friends after they discovered their paranormal talents after a shared traumatic event. Fate Interrupted features Megan “Atlanta” Carpenter, who not only uprooted her life and the lives of her three teenaged children, but also left her thriving event-planning business behind, in order to follow her husband to the sleepy Central Coast town of Moonstone Cove, only to find the bastard cheating on her. With the support of her friends Katherine and Toni behind her, she finally got up the nerve to kick him out of their pretentious house and out of her life. Sadly, she doesn’t really miss him that much, but mostly only regrets that she wasted so much energy and so many years trying to make things work between them, but she is definitively finished with all that. So now she is in the process of rebuilding her event-planning business, starting out with planning and organizing events for the Dusi winery. And it doesn’t hurt that the owner of the winery, Nico Dusi (Toni’s cousin) is great to look at, a decent guy and single, which gives her libido all kinds of ideas, but they work together and they both have teenaged children living with them, so mostly they just enjoy their banter. Things seem to be looking up for Megan, when out of the blue some experimental vine grafts get stolen from Nico’s greenhouse. He and Henry were working on developing an old French variety that could have catapulted the Dusi winery to the next level, if their plans were successful. Although the local police take the theft seriously, there isn’t much they can do as the perpetrators left no clues. The mystery is further compounded as Nico and Henry kept the project under wraps and really only a handful of people new about it. So Megan and her friends Katherine and Toni decide to do some sleuthing on their own, seeing as their attempts were quite successful in the past, even though Toni is a bit hampered by the fact that she is about ready to pop her baby… I really liked the second-chance romance between Megan and Nico who both appeared to be great people that had just chosen their partner rashly when they were very young but now tried to be good parents for their children. They weren’t really looking for a new partner, but found each other anyway. I also feel that Elizabeth Hunter is getting better at the mystery aspect of her stories and I like how the three friends mostly solve their self-chosen cases relying on old-fashioned investigative work by unobtrusively questioning people, carefully examining their backgrounds, establishing motive and whereabouts and some unauthorized snooping, although their powers come in handy at times. A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining cozy mystery with a paranormal twist, coupled with a sweet and sexy second-chance romance.

In Runaway Fate we met the eccentric Katherine and her unicorn husband, Baxter. In Fate Actually we enjoyed tough but vulnerable Toni and sweet, sweet Henry. In Fate Interrupted we get to experience the bruised but strong Megan and the delectable, respectable Nico.
Fate Interrupted follows the previous two in that it has theft, murder and intrigue that frankly had me guessing. But again, just as the previous two books, this story is so much more. It strengthens the relationships of the three women. It shows us more vulnerability in the characters, especially Toni and Megan. Fate Interrupted is the most REAL story in this trilogy.
We all knew that hiding behind Megan’s disarming smile and lightness lay a spine of steel surrounded by tender flesh and a huge heart. Regardless of the fact that Megan’s life has not turned out as she planned, her priority was, is and will continue to be a mom to the children she adores. Teetering on that fine line in how to act, what to say and when to be there as her children face a tough relationship with their father is exhausting.
All of us have felt many, if not all, of the arrows that pierced Megan: a cheating ex-husband that made her question everything, trying to start a new business, being there for her children and her friends, a rising libido that she fears is more than lust and a murder and a theft to solve has left her exhausted. Fate Interrupted could have been written about any of us.
This book was also filled with witty banter, deep reflection and a lot more steam. Nico never wavered in his interest, his respect and his support. The sexual tension was a secondary character in this book and again, was so real. I loved the fact that people in their forties were not portrayed to have rippling abs or lack of stretch marks. But they were portrayed to want and need physical intimacy and emotional security. That does not disappear after you thirties!
It was wonderful to visit with Val and Scully from Glimmer Lake and it was heart filling to meet Toni and Henry’s baby. These ladies are such rock stars. We should all be so lucky.
Elizabeth Hunter has filled us up again. She has spoiled us all with her character development, including the town of Moonstone Cove. She is a chef with words. This trilogy is like tiramisu: Runaway Fate is the cake. Fate Actually is the creamy center and Fate Interrupted is the chocolate on top. A perfect ending to a great series!.
I give out very few five star reviews, but I was happy to read this book before release and am so very happy to give five very excited fist pumps.

I was fortunate enough to receive this beautiful ARC of Fate Interrupted, Moonstone Cove book 3 in the series. This time it's Megan's story. I have been waiting forever for this book. I dived right in and fell in love with the town and the people all over again.
There is something so real and inspiring in Megan's story. She is a single parent, a successful business women and the best friend and mother she can be. when Megan's powers come into play she can use them for good detective work or just a few. shenanigans (detective Bisset, ex- husband) lol.
Reading this book was like coming back home to visit with your friends. I am so glad that Kathrine, Megan and Tori have their special Wine Wednesdays still, Even though someone is a very grumpy pregnant women who doesn't want to miss a get together or solving a crime lol.
Megan works at Nicos winery as an event planner. That is when things start to get steamy. Who doesn't love a hard working man who is sexy as sin. It seems like Nico and Megan can't get enough of each other.
But when some important plants get stolen Nico decides to hire Megan Kathrine and Toni to investigate the crime. But when Toni's powers are all over the place, they call in reinforcements. So here comes Val to save the day, who also happened to bribed her boyfriend Sully to come along for the ride.
As the story progresses the unexpected you don't see coming hits you face in the face when you least expect it. Elizabeth is so good on the twists and turns, for example you think it's one thing but it might be another. I absolutely love that about her books, you never know what's on the next page.
This was by far my favorite in the series. You get to see Megan grow into the successful independent women who loves her family and loves her job, but most importantly she loves her self enough to go for what she wants in her life.

This was a very engaging book. It was nice reading about Rico and Megan's romance. I love the 3 mature female protagonists. I figured out the villain early on. But I was very surprised about the driver. There were a few typos and name switches but I was still able to follow the story. I hope there will be updates and maybe crossover appearances with the new series.

All three of these books are well written, thoroughly edited, and most importantly - good stories. The mysteries are well managed, the romance sweet and believable, with no manufactured barriers (except maybe Toni’s resistance in book two, but there is no denying that her character is well established to support that). The writing is compelling enough to keep me up and reading well into the night.

    Super enjoyable read!

Megan finally gets her book in the Moonstone Cove series. I had fun reading about the Soutgern transplant in California wine country. Her interaction with her friends was entertaining, with her kids super sweet, and with Nico spicy hot. The mystery of the missing grapevines was a bit easy to figure out, but the way it was solved was fun, so I didn't mind.

I just love these three ladies from Moonstone Cove. I was so delighted when an early copy arrived in my email for my honest opinion.
In this book we get Meghan and Nico’s story. This is the one I’ve been waiting for. It’s pure perfection the way Elizabeth Hunter deals with the realities of divorce and all the baggage that it brings. Of course we get a mystery to solve along with the other two ladies Kathryn and Toni.
It just makes me smile the whole time reading these stories, they are truly amazing.
Just give all of the WPF a go you won’t be sorry.
