Fear None: AmBw Romantic Suspense (Beautiful Rage Book 1) Kindle Edition
TATUM
I lived by my father’s motto until River entered the MMA cage, River’s brown eyes reflected mystery, and his soul held darkness.
Off-limits to a good girl like me.
One day, the demons that haunted River swallowed him whole. Forever passed away yet I failed at forgetting the beast who showed me a tender side of him.
Now, I’m the law. A cop.
River’s as gorgeous as sin. An ex-convict.
And I’m the reason he was tossed in the slammer.
RIVER
Coach treated me better than any blood of mine. I stabbed him in the back.
This time I’ll twist the knife, steal his most prized possession: his daughter, my everything.
Tatum’s innocence was created for my corruption. Prison sharpened the monster she couldn’t save.
She can take down any enemy.
But her biggest opponent has a claim to her heart.
I’ve loved that girl for the better part of my life. Only one of us stopped loving the other. And it wasn’t me.
Trigger warning: this story has some dark elements and graphic language, steamy scenes, and twisted situations.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2022I've been trying to figure out the right way to write this review without spilling anything.
And let me just say that it's been tough.
So instead I'll just keep it cute and simple.
I really enjoy reading this book and I want to jump right into the next one, since where it left off has me jumping in my seat.
Though it took my a very long time to read this book, ( because of life/work ) once I got the time to FINALLY, enjoy it without any interruptions. I want to make sure I can read the next one right away, before life/work, gets back in the way.
Now lets talk about our main characters. River and Tatum.
When I first read about these two it was back in Cam's and Willow book. They we're a couple that instantly caught my attention. And wow, what a couple. River goes to prison for his actions done, in favor of saving Tatum. And Tatum becomes a police officer.
Now that River is out of prison he has a bone to pick with Tatum, and Tatum has one with him. But not for the same reason he has with her. She wants to be with him still, and get it through his thick skull that she's loved him since they were kids. While on the other hand River loves her, but is low key pissed off with the fact that, she did not visit him, and that he believes she cheated on him in the past. Which clearly isn't the case, the girl has always been team River, everyone can see and knew that.
But there is soo much more going on then just these two. River and his trashy father Poto. Tatum wanting to join the Swat team. Tatum and her equality Disgusting/Trashy "Godfather " Harrison and last but not least the MacKenzie's Clan.
Honestly there so much going on that I would love to discuss but I'll wait to say that in the 2nd book since.. well.. its the second book so you already would have read this one. lol
So lets change to subject to the one thing I will allow myself to talk about which is the MacKenzie's.
Cam and Willow's oldest son Ryn aka Camdryn. Ryn is literally a little version of Cam. Well without the enjoyment in torturing others, like is father oh so enjoy doing. When Cam says in the book that Willow son William and his son Ryn, had me confuse. Since I was sure that both boys were his sons, but then Willow corrects him and says our sons. Still I couldn't really understand why he says it like this until I finally understood that Ryn takes after him. Once I understood that I was able to see that Ryn really does takes after his father. Which caused me to laugh and think 'Oh great a cam # 2'.
I also enjoy and was surprise to find out that the Baby Mackenzie Jake, now has a deep voice. That means a lot of time has passed and that Mia Mackenzie is no longer a baby baby. Since these two was close in age. I really enjoy reading about the Mackenie Clan, so I'm really glad that we can see a lot of them still in this book.
I really enjoy reading this book and can't wait to jump right into the next one. I believe those who decides to read this book is in for a treat. But I do recommend that you read Cam's and Willow book first. So you can get a little more background of how these two started. It would be worth your time, trust me.
With that being said enjoy. :)
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2022The cover was absolute fire! There is nothing sexier than a muscular tatted man. Kudos to the cover model.
Since I'm a HUGE fan of Amarie Avant, I jumped to read this book. It took me a few pages before I realized the story I was reading. Then I was all in.
River sounded like the three Ds: dark, dangerous, and deadly. Then he added a fourth D: Devious to the mix. His desire for revenge was nerve-racking. I didn't know if his feelings were real or if he was a damn good actor.
Tatum's career choice was interesting, considering her circle of friends. She demanded respect from her peers and walked the walk. I liked her strength and loyalty to River. I just wish she was more transparent with him.
I'm not sure how I feel about the ending. I already know I'm reading the second half without questions.
My suggestion is to read all the Mackenzie Clan series, and this one too. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and if you have a weak stomach for violence, dark sex, and other dark stuff, then think long and hard before reading this or any of the Mackenzie Clan series.
Happy Reading!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2022I loved Tatum and River's love story. River served 5 years in prison for nearly killing Tatum's God father son at a party. River felt guilt of what happened and waited 5 years for her first love to be free. Tatum also became a cop. River was released he was out for revenge with Tatum to break her heart like she broke his heart. But, his plan back fire as the more time he spund with Tatum the more he fell old feeling for her. Tatum manage to get her slimy God father to help River get in the MMA . But Her God father wants her in return of the favor. When Tatum was young her God father would touch her in places he shouldn't of while reading her stories when she spend sometime to Godparents for a while. Tatum been holding on that secret for a long time. Tatum will do anything to support River's dream of becoming an MMA fighter. So she tolerate her godfather's present until River gets the heavy weight belt. But, Herrington making it really hard for Tatum to wait that long. He starts to harass her and bring treats to her. So, she plans to come up with a plan to end Herrington and River still succeed in boxing. I loved the story. It's a must read. I can't wait until the next book to see what happens.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2022Better than usual. I had not read Amarie's books in a while because I usually dont like her herioines or progression of her stories. **possible spoilers**
Pros: Tatum was a stronger heroine that stuck to her guns with some of her choices . She is tough and does have some standards about life choices. Loved seeing about use of protection because these books very much give unprot sex w/o consequences like that is truth. Loved references to therapy that is often needed with characters as described that too often work it out in sex as if that's it. Nice chemistry and sex scenes were hot.
Cons: wasnt a fan of the proposal scene. Tired of the black woman having to beg for what she wants-often happens with Amarie's heroines. The Achilles in the h/h relationship that centers around a secret, shift/chg, event that wasnt noticed, or an avoided topic but the h/h are so smart, successful, can read each others thoughts throughout the rest of the book. They will suffer through some ridiculous decisions and choices that could have been saved by a good honest conversation, yet the h/h are one in mind?🤷🏾♀️ Better, just the best yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read!!!
Another amazing book by this author!!! I love how both River & Tatum are equally strong physically, emotionally, & psychologically. I really love the fighter in Tatum & how she loves unapologetically and fiercely. She will do anything to ensure her own happiness at any cost to herself. Equally, River is the exact same. They are literally two peas in a pod and absolutely perfect for each other. I especially love how Tatum manhandles her brothers in blue & River (when he forgets himself)!!! It’s actually very beautiful to see this type of soulful love between these two. They show you that love is worth fighting for no matter the cost.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just ok (contains spoilers)
The story about a teenage love who bloomed into a young adult one is compelling. However, the constant past present narration was frustrating at times. The story also felt very superficial considering the amount of material that could be drawn from these 2 people who had a complicated life. Tatum and River had a lot of sex but very few meaningful conversations. I also didn’t like Tatum very much. She had an awful experience as a child, however she grew up into a very manipulative teenager and adult. Her sparring with Harrison was frustrating as she basically lied to River and Nan to get her way. I understand wanting to avoid a violent confrontation however after spending 5 years in jail, I believe River’s was owed the truth. The whole self flagellation was unnecessary and worse she wanted to make him pay at times for her sacrifice while he didn’t agree to it in the first place.
She wanted her family’s trust while she was lying to them, the irony.
Willow was also frustrating as she was dead wrong to tell River that he wasn’t entitled to his feelings while he didn’t have all the facts.
