This book crushed my soul before it put me back together. 😭 (and I loved it! ) Every single feeling I have was obliterated before this book was done. But I couldn’t stop reading it! I had to know what was going to happen, from page to page. The twists, the angst, the moments of pure despair. The sensual and sweet and funny and lighthearted. All of it! I never wanted it to end ,but I couldn’t wait to get to the end to see how it ended! GAH!
This is the story of Donovan, Grey and Liam. Three rich best friends from elite and powerful families whose friendship will be tested in the ultimate way. One beautiful girl, two gorgeous guys, both different in many ways, but also the same in their life’s mission to protect love and care for her. She loves them both, but only one can truly hold all of her heart, and the other will be left standing with his heart in his hand. Grey and Liam are two best friends as close as brothers. They are always number one and two. They will do anything and give up anything for the other, except when it comes to Donovan. For the first time in their lives they each found something he wasn’t willing to sacrifice for his best friend. They both also knew ultimately who was the best man for her, but would the other step aside and let “him” be the one to go after her?

The struggling was real y’all and raw and oh my gosh. My heart felt it every time one lashed out in hurt or punishment towards another. I felt it down to my bones. That’s how much I fell for these characters. There are places where you feel like it’s slice after slice to an artery and just when you think you couldn’t possibly bleed more. Trilina patches you back up all perfectly in the end. I promise these characters are gonna stick with you long after you have clicked that Kindle off.
I refuse to give anything specific details of this story away because to do so would be such a disservice to both this brilliant author and to you the reader. It is sure to be one of my top reads this year. This was my first read by Trilina Pucci and I’m amazed and awed by her attention to every single detail and emotion she was able to capture in the book and evoke in me as a reader. While this may have been my first read of hers I can assure you this will not be my last. If you are fans of friends-to-lovers/Love triangles with a touch of bully romance, and you also happen to love twists, angst, frustration and shockingly frustrating moments. This is the book for you!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥-As far as actual, get full on busy it’s a slow burn with tons of licious tension! There is one scene fairly early that is holy hot!! But then you have to wait a minute for another BUT it’s so worth the wait! Good gracious is it with it! Hot dang! 🔥🔥

Filthy Little Pretties isn’t your typical high school romance. It’s not sweet and swoony with fade to black scenes. Instead, it’s quite a bit more adult and has it’s fair of sex and debauchery. Some say it’s a mix of Gossip Girl and Cruel Intentions (both of which I love ) and I agree to a point. However, don’t expect it to be exactly like either of those because while it does share some similar themes this book isn’t a replica of either movie or show. Was I disappointed in this? Not really. I could watch both of those to get my fix. But there were a few things that fell short for me with this one which I will explain below. First, I felt like this book lacked some depth. These characters have so many different issues (self-esteem, problems with parents, etc.) but it doesn’t get into them enough. We see snippets and are told that the problems exist, but we don’t see it enough to make it feel real or authentic to their story or actions. Secondly, (and POSSIBLE SPOILERS ) were led to believe that the heroine is in love with both her best friends who she hasn’t seen in five years. I suppose this would make it a bit of a love triangle but in all honesty everything that would lend itself to the triangle is missing. She’s not really with either of them and she constantly says she wouldn’t choose between them (until she does). Again, it’s more telling than showing through the story. I would have LOVED to see her conflicted emotions and see where they were coming from in her head, and it just wasn’t there. Now, this book wasn’t a total loss for me as I did give it 3 stars which means I LIKED IT but I needed a little more depth, a little more inner conflict within the characters, and a bit more of a backstory to lend itself to the characters actions. If you enjoy an upper YA romance with a bit of angst, then this is certainly a book to try. I will give the other books in the series a try because I’d like to see what happens with some of the other characters!
