Zoey

I'm a wild child with no inhibitions...

Growing up with an absentee father and a narcissistic mother, my life has been one bitter disappointment after another. Now, my best friend is marrying my ex-stepfather and wants me to be the maid-of-honour. Things are—complicated. I didn’t think it could get any worse, until I crash my car on a backwoods country road and an obnoxious, but oh-so-hot mechanic comes along to save the day.

Chris

My quiet, solitary life is about to get sucked into hers...

I prefer to mind my business and keep a low profile. The last thing I need is drama. Until Zoey Dixon comes crashing into town—literally. After a mind-blowing one-night stand, I’m sure I’ll never see her again. Until I realize we’re heading to the same wedding and offer to drive her there. And all that drama I’ve been avoiding? Well, she’s got it in spades.

Filthy Mechanic is an enemy to lovers, sizzling, forbidden, age gap, contemporary romance with elements that may be sensitive to some readers. Filthy Mechanic is the second book in the Daddy Issues series by Daisy St. James. If you have read Dirty Professor, you have already met the character featured in this novel, Zoey.

If this is the first time you're reading this author, no worries, this book can be read as a stand-alone. However, there may be some spoilers.

Welcome to the Zoey sideshow. After failing as an actress and losing all her money, Zoey finds herself homeless, but with some glimmer of hope in her horizon, her best friend's wedding. In typical Zoey fashion, she finds trouble along the way.

This book was fantastic. You can't help but fall in love with Zoey. She is overdue for a happily ever after.

So, I had a hard time liking Zoey, in spite of everything that she went through. Chris was easier for me to connect with, but by the end, I liked their dynamic together and how they balanced each other out. The story was written well and it is entertaining and fun to read and it’s not what I would call dark, but it does have some impact play, or punishment play, depending on how you see it. I don’t have a problem with that, but some readers might not like it, so I thought I’d mention it.
Ultimately I really enjoyed this book, and I am looking forward to more in this series.

5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.

4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.

3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.

2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.

1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

Zoey is a spoiled brat with no direction in life. Chris is a man how prefers his life to be simple and quiet until Zoey comes crashing into his world.
You will fall in love with the two of them instantly.
I highly recommend this book, you won’t be able to put it down.

Amazing book. Zoey is on her way to her best friend’s wedding when she crashes her car. Calling a tow truck to help her she is surprised by the voice on the other end of the line because it’s doing something to her. When Chris, the owner of the voice, arrives she realizes that the man doesn’t do the voice justice. Chris sees a pampered princess who expects everyone to do as she wants. When he looks inside the car he knows what really happened to cause the crash. Back at his office the situation becomes hot and heavy until they discover that they’re heading to the same wedding and he’s best friends with the groom, her ex stepfather. Chris offers to drive with Zoey to the wedding and gets to know her and about her life. Her mother is a real piece of work having cut her off for being in the wedding even though her mother’s marriage to groom was for show only she feels she was the one humiliated. Once they arrive things are tense for Zoey as she is determined to stay away from her addiction. The night before the wedding she gets a call from her mother telling her that she’s on her way to crash the celebration. When she tells Chris he makes sure everyone knows what is coming. The ceremony is beautiful and uneventful but disaster hit right before dinner at the reception. THE uninvited guest has arrived but, leaves when Zoey tells her to go. She should have known it wouldn’t be as easy as that. Chris notices that something is wrong with Zoey and thinks she relapsed. After she explains that she didn’t and that her mother was there he gets suspicious. He quickly gets the happy couple to call 911 as Zoey collapses in his arms. She is rushed to the hospital but they won’t let him see her. He can’t lose her. He knows who’s responsible and he will make sure they pay for what has happened to Zoey. You have to read on to find out all the details weaving around Chris and Zoey. You won’t be disappointed.

Oh my word.. This is the 2nd book I've read from Daisy St James and I have to say that I absolutely love her writing style... She is eloquent, funny and real... I loved the characters in this book really rooting for Zoey.. I actually pleaded at one point for her to get her happy ever after...there were sighs and tears and alot of anger toward 1 character.... I really wanted to wring her neck the b***h. I'm buying the next book... New author crush right here cannot recommend and praise her work enough!!
