Douglas pens a great story in The Final Proposition. The premise is very interesting, and the story is filled with action, keeping the reader wanting more. The story caught my attention from the beginning, and was filled with twists and turns. The story had sub plots within it, and Douglas wrote the story very well. Adam was a very interesting character, with many different levels. "As he sat in the darkness, he wondered how useful a gun with no bullets would be." The story was woven together very well, with some parts being predictable, and others not-so-much. I look forward to reading more by this author.

The Penman Proposition is an enjoyable story chock full of tense thrills at every turn. There is so much excitement in this story that I felt I was holding my breath as if I were in the story with the well developed and finely tuned characters.

There are two stories running through this book at the same time. One of an older man, Max, whose daughter was murdered seven years ago without her killer being caught and no sign of her body.

The main story is about a man wrongly accused of a crime who was put away for seven years. During this time this man, Adam Wells, meets another man, Joseph Penman, who killed a member of the drug cartel in order to save his brother’s life. These two men share a cell for one year and share their past and their secrets when Joseph realizes that he is terminally ill and will not live long. He reveals his one secret to Adam Wells that will lead to millions of dollars hidden from the drug cartel by Joseph Penman’s brother. Adam is released soon afterward when DNA is discovered that does not match up to his at the scene of the crime.

The author takes the reader for a wild ride in a 1969 Camaro along with Adam and Joseph’s wife, Hannah and her sick child, Michael, to find the money which is needed for an expensive life-saving surgery for Michael. Will they escape the grasp of the drug cartel who will kill to get their money back? There are others who know about this money and will stop at nothing to fight to beat the cartel to retrieve the money for themselves.

This is a must read that will stay with you for a long time. I avidly look forward to more books by this talented author.

I enjoyed the book, but found parts of it to be a little too predictable and at times to convenient. I kept reading, but knew where things were headed in the story all along. I really wanted to give the book a chance. I would still probably recommend reading the book as it was still entertaining and a 3 1/2 star book.

"When I first told Hannah about the cancer, she was very upset. We talked a long time about it. The guards were nice and gave us an extra half hour. As she left, she said she had something to tell me. Something she had been keeping from me ever since Tony's death. I asked her what it was and she said she would explain it all on her next visit."......

I’ve been reading the “Bridgette Cash Thriller” series by this author and really enjoyed them both. So I was happy to get to read more of this authors work. I was not disappointed!

Joseph Penmen has a young son. The boy will die without an operation to save his life. How can he help? After all he is in a jail cell. He confides this to his cell mate, Adam. Joseph has a plan.

Adam is about to be released. If he will go get the money Joseph’s brother hid, he will give Adam half, and Adam is to give Joseph’s wife the rest to save his son.

The problem is who the money was stolen from. There are some dangerous people who’d like their money back. Adam is in definite danger. Will he risk his own life for that half of the cash? Will he turn over the other half to save Joseph’s son? Decisions, decisions.

There’s a second back story line here. The reason Adam was unjustly in prison becomes intertwined with his desire to help Joseph’s wife and child.

A fast paced suspense tale. I really couldn’t wait to see how it would all turn out. Will Adam get his own justice? Will Joseph’s son live? Is the 3 million dollars even still hidden? If it’s found, who will end up with it? Can there be any peace for the tragedies that have befallen all involved.

Liked the book it was a good day read . I have it 4 and not 5 because I thought it ended too abruptly. I had hoped the writer would explain the ending instead of a quick wrap up in the end.

This is a great story, the characters are very well defined and characterized so in the story that the reader feels as if they can relate to them. Great storyline with a very smooth fast pace flow. This is my third book by Douglas and I'm on my way to number four. Great job Mr Douglas!!!😅😂

I remember when daytime soap operas were in their prime. Some of the characters went through so much turmoil/accidents/sickness/kidnappings etc. that you wondered how they fit in all in and survived. This book has a really interesting story, but Adam went through so much, more than any person could survive!

This book has a lot of action in at.

Some of the action was highly improbable, nevertheless a good read and a page turner.
