Kev and Ty were friends back in high school playing hockey together. Kev had feelings for Ty back then but due to a lot of circumstances it just wasn’t the right time for them. Over the years their friendship got stronger but then things happen and now they are not exactly on good terms anymore. Years later they end up on the same hockey team and they finally address their past. This time the timing could be right if they can survive the obstacles that come their way. I loved Kev and Ty’s beautiful love story. The chemistry between them is so hot. You can feel how much these two feel for each other. Another great read by these two authors. The cover is amazing too! I love how much emotion, passion and chemistry they incorporate into an entertaining book with stories of finding your true love.

    Ryan Taylor & Joshua Harwood have been some of my favorite authors for about a year now. I haven’t read a book they’ve written that hadn't spoken to me on some level or another. This one was no different.

    We first met their leading men back in The Next New One. While we spent more time with Tyler in that book, we couldn’t help but feel for Kevin when we met him. This book is their story, their second chance, and it was everything I hoped it would be. It was sweet, engaging, and just a fun ray of sunshine to read. While there were some hurdles they faced, they faced them as a couple—and I really appreciate that. It’s a breath of fresh air when I get to read a story that doesn’t follow the same formula seen in many others. Formulas done right, can be very entertaining—don’t get me wrong—but I know I can count on these authors to give me a story that follows its own path (in more ways than one).

    This book is full of romance, hockey, humor, and moments that will tug at your heartstrings while leaving you with the goofiest grin possible. I used to say Ryan Taylor & Joshua Harwood’s books were like Hallmark but better, and I stand by that (by better, I mean there’s more depth and a unique storyline).

    If you haven’t read their books, yet, I highly recommend you do so. You can start anywhere, as they are all meant as standalones. So, with that being the case, why not start with this book? You won’t regret it!

    Praise the Hockey Gods for fewer bathroom references. Seriously, that was what stood out from book 1.

    Written in dual first person POV. Good amount of M/M sexy times. There was some snarky humor but I wanted the pranks that hockey players (or professional athletes in general) are known for. Just like in book 1, there was anatomy naming that was overused. Has a HEA but the epilogue didn’t do much beyond introduce a new guy that is NOT one of the main characters of book 4.

    It is not necessary to read books one and two first but it was helpful. Book 1 is about Nick (Barracudas captain) and Jacob (law student) and takes place while Nick is finishing undergrad and Jacob is finishing law school. Book 2 is entirely from Nick’s POV and takes place during the last couple of months of high school when he first starts dating Tyler and Kev is just starting high school. There is a 3 year age difference.

    After reading books 1 and 2, the blurb for book 3 didn’t make sense. Ty was 18 and in a relationship with Nick. Kev was only 15 and those 3 years are a huge difference. Ty didn’t decide that the age difference should keep him and Kev apart. Instead, it was Ty’s relationship with Nick and the fact that they were going to college and Kev would be left behind.

    I’m also not a fan of book blurbs (or even titles) that spoil something that happens later in the book. Book 1 is part of the Barracudas series but that team isn’t even mentioned until the last couple pages of the book - totally spoiling Nick’s decision. The relationship in this book isn’t “outed” until after 60%.

    After reading the previous two hockey books by these authors, I knew I didn’t want to miss seeing Tyler find his happy ever after. This has been a beautiful series to follow. I loved Kevin’s character in the previous book. He was a sweet kid with a crush on a much older Tyler. The timing was wrong then but you could just feel something special between them. Taylor and Harwood have crafted not only a beautiful love story but a great hockey book filled with authentic action. I felt like I was in the arena on the edge of my seat during game descriptions. On the romance side, Tyler and Kevin are two big athletic men who bring explosive heat to their relationship. At times I thought my book was going to burst into flames! All in all this was a most satisfying read- Tyler found his forever love and it was SO worth the wait!

    This book is everything and more. I loved the sensitivity and detail with which the story is written. I loved that Nick and Jacob are involved in Kevin and Ty’s love story and the integration of family and friends and that their personal background stories are touched upon. I loved the deep and tender moments between Kevin and Ty. I deeply appreciated the intense scrutiny and bias that gay couples face, especially in the world of professional sport. I loved this book so much and know that any books written by these two amazing authors will never disappoint.
