This is a cute romance that features a sexy hero and heroine, several missteps and miscommunications and witty dialog.
Tallulah Laxenby (Lula) is nervous about a grievance meeting she has with the owner of the radio station she works for. She is a DJ who slept with the station manager, an error she regrets immensely, but since that mistake she has brushed the manager off and refuses to be anything more than an employee. In retaliation he is not giving her the promotion she deserves and messing with her current shows.
Tristan Bainfield has travelled to London to settle a disagreement at a radio station his father owns. He has been running his father's business for several years, but does not usually have to deal with the day to day problems and he is pissed. As he sits in a local bar to drink his problems away he meets a woman who also wants to escape her reality for just awhile. They hook up that night for a little anonymous sex and it is not until he finds her driver's license the next day that he realizes she is his morning meeting, he feels betrayed, thinking she was playing him. After he fires her, he realizes there is more to the story and he must sort through the lies, misconception and his father's loyalties to find the truth.
I thought this was a cute romance with great sexual tension, humorous conversations and engaging characters.
Lula is a kick, she is feisty and strong willed, a true match for a billionaire who is a bit on the grumpy side. Tristan's recent girlfriend broke off their relationship and started dating his brother, something that has knocked him off his game. Not that he is overly sorry for the breakup but he thought all was well until the end and you can tell he is perplexed by both the breakup and Lula, she is a puzzle to him.
The two definitely have chemistry and their first night together is amazing but as things get tricky poor Tristan has to do some groveling and some wooing to get both Lula back as an employee and as someone he would like to see more of. I love how he goes about the task, he remembers things she says and does and uses these to make her look at him in a different light. She is a bit gun shy since both the men she recently slept with have messed with her career and although she is attracted to Tristan, she backs away, trying to find a balance in her life.
This is not an overly long story so the romance and differences are settled quickly. I enjoyed several of the secondary characters and I also liked how Tristan, his brother and the ex-girlfriend's relationship is portrayed. All in all a fun romance with an author that keeps a reader's interest until the end.
