Fleeting (Nash Brothers Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 1,639 ratings

Presley McDaniel lives her life from moment to moment.

Making permanent decisions means obligation, and that would force her to stop being the family disappointment. Waitress, fitness instructor, dog walker … you name the hourly job and she’s probably held the position.

But when her grandmother can no longer run her book shop in Fawn Hill, a town so small it barely has its own zip code, Presley steps up to help.

The move from bustling city to green pastures may be exactly what she needs to sort out her life. But she didn’t ask for that happy ending to include a gorgeous veterinarian with an all-American smile and a penchant for snuggling puppies. The good doctor is reliable, responsible, and just the kind of man Presley has always avoided.

Love and commitment are predictable.
So why, the moment she lays eyes on him, are they all she wants?

Keaton Nash has never questioned his steady path.

His brothers may tease him about settling into his father’s passed-down role of small town veterinarian, but Keaton has never minded his rural roots. And after tragedy struck two years ago, he has a duty as the eldest Nash man to look after his family.

What he doesn’t need is the sexy, flighty stranger who shows up in town and gets his broken heart beating again. Presley McDaniel is a distraction, a red-headed temptation that is the definition of a bad idea.

He’s barely recovered from the love who left him to chase bigger dreams, and this woman is bound to do the same.

Except for the first time ever, he wants to abandon stability.
She makes him want to be reckless.

Absolutely loved this! City girl comes to a small town and meets Keaton. She brings him out of his comfort zone but will he make her settle down?! It was so fun to see these two be silly and imperfect. Had a Hallmark movie feel to it! I can’t wait to read about the rest of the Nash brothers!

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!!

Gosh, I couldn't put this book down for even a second. Fleeting was so much more than I expected, it left me so in love with these characters, the story, and the author.

This was a story about life, giving life AND a chance, it was about risks. Presley was amazing, she is always scared to making a permanent decision, she is over being the family disappointment and just wants to be happy and at peace for once. So when she goes to visit her grandmother to help her out, the last thing she expects was to fall in love with the people, the town, and the towns veterinarian.

Keaton is there for his family no matter what, he works and helps. That is what he does, what he is okay with doing. Keaton has a big heart, he puts everyone before himself and it hurts my heart because he deserves the best. So the last thing he saw coming was to fall for the new girl in town who isn't planning on staying.

These two were perfect, their first encounter was so funny. These two needed each other to realize that they matter, they are capable of finding love, and they are capable of change. Presley helps Keaton see that it's okay to be selfish sometimes and put himself before others. Keaton helps Presley see that if you don't take risks then you will never be truly happy.

These two were PERFECT!!! This story was PERFECT!!! I cannot wait for the second book in this series, I am so curious to know ore about Keaton's brothers and their stories.

I don't know why I haven't read this book yet.. and now I'm kicking myself! Fleeting is the first book in the Nash Brothers Series by Carrie Aarons and has me hooked! Presley, who's new in town has her first meeting with the hot vet Keaton Nash when her grandmother's dog has eaten her thong and she needs his help. She's attracted to him, but knows they are too opposite of one another to have anything work. Keaton is intrigued for the first time in two years by a woman, and is willing to take a chance on the woman who doesn't really have a plan. These two are complete opposites of one another and seeing them tiptoe around each other in the beginning of this book is hilarious because of how awkward they are.Keaton and Presley truly bring out the best in one another. Presley helps Keaton learn to let loose live a little and helps take on some of his problems. Where Keaton believes in Presley and helps her follow dreams she didn't know she had. There are definite bumps in their relationship though, one being Presley has never really been in a relationship before and she definitely has a fight or flight instinct in her, but being with Keaton seems to calm that for the most part. The banter between them, and how understanding they are towards one another is refreshing and beautiful. Throw in the family dynamics of Keaton's brothers, and the members of the town and Presley's grandmother and this is one amazing story. I adored watching these two fall for one another against all odds and against Presley's fight in the beginning of this story. The small town theme of this book was charming and really made this book pop as well and made it refreshing compared to some others I've read recently, and I can't wait to dive into the other brother's books now. I adored Keaton and Presley and how their story ended was perfection and I hope we get to see more of them in the rest of the series! If you love small town romances, and opposites attract, then I highly recommend picking up Fleeting by Carrie Aarons today!

A sweet small town romance. It wasn't super-memorable but I liked the set-up of the town & the personalities of many of the supporting characters.

The main characters were slightly irksome at times (both did that dumb, why-did-you-do-that moment; especially the heroine) but overall, they were pretty darn cute together.

I will continue on with the series (because the history Bowen & Lily share intrigues me) but it's not at the top of my tbr list quite yet.

I've read (and loved) books by this author before, but this is the beginning of a brand new series, and I couldn't wait to get started! I couldn't help but love Keaton and Presley! The whole family grabbed my heart and won't let go!

Keaton is the type of man that everyone relies on. He is stable and dependable, but also seems to have the world on his shoulders. He always puts everyone else's needs and wants ahead of himself. He loves his life, but isn't prepared for the wrench Presley throws into his routine! Presley, on the other hand, is a free spirit. She spends her life drifting from one meaningless job to the next, but when her grandma needs her help, she doesn't hesitate to uproot her life to move to her small town. Presley thought she was happy, but adapts to small town life and all that it offers with ease. And even though there is an immediate attraction with Keaton, Presley isn't sure how two people that are so different can fit together.

There were times, while reading Keaton and Presley's story, that I wasn't sure if they would be able to get past all of the obstacles in their way. There were times that I couldn't contain my laughter at their interactions. There were times when my heart hurt for them. Honestly, my emotions were all over the place with their story, and I couldn't help but fall in love with all of the characters. This story is definitely one that leaves you with a feeling of hope, and I can't wait to read more about the Nash brothers!

They both just fit together. Keaton goes by the rule, a little bigger down with responsibilities. Presley is carefree and fleeting. But that's why they are a perfect fit for one another. They both can make a beautiful life together because they are different and complete each other, rubbing off each other, and gaining strength that their love gives them.

I was glad to see people around them who hammer sense in them before they took extreme steps. And yet they learn and realise things on their own. It was just fear that pulled them back.

Small town stories are very endearing, featuring real-life people.

4.0 out of 5 stars A lovely and slow burn small town romance

Fleeting is the first book in the Nash Brothers series by Carrie Aarons and each book is about one of the Nash Brothers and it takes place in a small town. This one is about Presley and Keaton.
    .
Presley is a city girl and she hasn’t really found her place yet and never stays still. When her grandmother needs help in her store, she goes there and assists her. Small town life wasn’t something she ever found appealing, but it is growing on her and I liked how Presley became a part of the community e.g. with her yoga courses.
    .
Keaton is the oldest of the Nash Brothers and he followed the footsteps of this father and became a vet. His father was a very important person for him and after he died, Keaton takes upon the role of the provider and carer. He is very close with his family and I really like them. From the first page you know that he is a good man and helps everyone and puts others first.
    .
The first meeting of the two was so hilarious and kicked of their relationship amazingly. It happens when Presley brings in her grandma’s dog after he ate her underwear. In such a situation you can see if the characters have chemistry and Presley and Keaton definitely have that. But both doesn’t really want a romantic relationship at first and it is rather easygoing and the feelings come with time and as the story progressed and I really liked to follow that.
    .
Overall, it as a lovely and slow burn small town romance and it receives 4 stars.

Fleeting just warmed my heart, just a perfect start to this new series!

This book gave the feel of cosiness, sense of love, family and that extra energy for life, and was a long that I felt like that from a book series.

Keaton is a perfect guy, the oldest son, has his life all planned out, but took one look at redhead Presley and everything changes, and he doesn’t know how to deal with that, she messes with his plans.

Presley came to small town to her grandma when she needed the most, didn’t expect to find Keaton good boy Nash; her feelings are all over the place, she never been in love, and doesn’t understand her attraction at all.

They love story left me anxious because life can be such a b# to us, I cried for Presley, I felt like her, left on the side, forgotten, and I thank God for my grandma every day, she was the best, like Presley grandma.

I can’t wait to read about the Nash brother; I bet it will be epic!

    All the stars.
