Forbidden: A RH Stepbrother Romance (Perfect for them Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 1,226 ratings

Love is more fun when it is Forbidden.
My first kiss happened at a party and the lights were turned off, so I’ll never know who kissed me that night.I just know that no one ever made me feel like my mystery guy, no matter how many I kissed.
That summer, I fell for two hot twin brothers: Chase and Reid.
Everything fell apart when they became my stepbrothers and things between us had to change.
Our friendship ended and was replaced by indifference and distance.
Three years later I’m back in Star Cove and so are Chase and Reid with their two hot and friendly best friends Bryce and Parker.
This is the summer before college and I’m stuck in the past, between my forbidden stepbrothers, the boy I’m dating and a kiss that’s lost forever.

Warning: this book is part of a trilogy and ends in a cliffhanger. This is a story where the heroine won’t have to choose between her different love interests and has hot scenes, swearing and mild violence. Suitable only for readers aged 18+

Forbidden, book 1 of the Perfect For Them Trilogy, by Melissa Adams @melissa.adamsr is a favorite author of mine.

This was a great 1st book about Kaya Bryce & Parker! Tropes: Contemporary, MFM, Summer before College, stepbrothers friends, & A Cliffhanger!

I cannot wait for the next one, jumping in! Hate that Marc guy! But I’m all in with the story and characters. Thanks for writing such addictive books!

I really loved this book. If I had to pick one thing I didn’t like, it was the near constant rehashing of the past, with Dustin telling the two boys to treat Kaya as a sister, and that they love her but can’t be with her, and why Chase and Reid each act as they do. I guess I just felt that after a couple of times, it didn’t need to be restated over and over.
But all in all, I enjoyed the book. I thought the story was great, and I loved the external conflict thrown in via Marc. I couldn’t stop reading and now I am on to the second book ASAP.

The excerpt was amazing. It got me hooked enough to get the book and read it. But when the stepbrother factor doesn't really come into play until 80% of the book is through.... yeah kinda ridiculous. The bulk of the story is pining and silly drama. If you're into a really slow burn and the taboo, it could be for you. For me, nah.

I couldn't put this down! Hooked from start to finish, and the almost HEA at the end had me rushing to get the sequel.

I enjoyed this book and like the characters. The dialogue is somewhat juvenile and repetitive at times. They mention at least 5x about why they can't be together, etc amongst other things. I still enjoyed the story though and feel connected to it. I'm worried about Marc though and the potential damage he could create. He's very manipulative and sneaky. I was angry at the mom for falling into his charm as well and not listening to her daughter. I liked that Dustin did and took her seriously. Though his and the mom's beliefs will be interesting to see in how things play out. They really put them all in difficult situations and we're pretty selfish with their own feelings. They are good parents though so that makes it harder to be mad at them. Hoping they can be more open minded. The secrets being kept will be the major conflict. It is going to blow up so bad. I can already see. I'm just hoping they decide to be honest. Multiple POVs. No mm. Medium to hot steam. It will probably increase more as the relationships develop more. I like that they are college age. I'm also happy that she was able to fix things with her friend. Ready for more of the story and how things will turn out for them.

Perfect for Them- Book 1 - Forbidden

My review encompasses all 3 books in the trilogy.
    Whew…⭐️slow burn ⭐️sexy ⭐️intriguing ⭐️plot delight. ⭐️

Why you should read this trilogy:
Take a deep cleansing breath from the enemies to lovers academy bully tropes to clear your energy with:
    Sweet & Kind Curvy FMC
    Sexy “Step Brother” twins
    Love at first sight
Heated RH dynamic with RIPPED & Gorgeous Harem
Slow Burn supportive and caring consensual scenes
THIS FMC IS PAMPERED ALL THE WAY TO AN HEA.

    ⚠️…. Possible Spoilers:

Readers…when I say slow burn…this author takes her time and gets it right. All the way through the trilogy we are meeting and learning about each member of the RH, but the one thing that NEVER waivers is the FMC’s sweet and kind hearted beauty. Faced with so many challenges, Kaya is never once mean spirited which is what her guys absolutely love her. There were MANY occasions that I personally would’ve reacted MUCH differently and for me, it was such an eye opening thought process. The intrigue and plotting that went into carrying Marc (initial villain) through the entire series coupled with the introduction of Oliver and Valeria in book two, never left readers wanting for drama. The combination of sweet and sexy scenes between Kaya, Parker, Reid, Chase, Bryce,….and eventually and most twisty, Oliver are sinfully hot. Kaya’s parents character arcs are redemptive. The unexpected support of the twins grandparents is a nice turn of events. Villains have the day they deserve, which is always satisfying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forbidden stepbrother romance and reverse harem? Count me in!
Reviewed in Australia on February 23, 2021
This trilogy was seriously hot with plenty of page-turning intrigue to keep me hooked. Adams painted a vivid picture of the Californian sea-side town and filled it with a cast of characters who came alive. I related to Kayla, the heroine, fell in love with her guys, and despised the various villains. One character caught me off guard. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t get specific, but the way the author developed this guy’s arc blew me away. Loved the way his accent came through in dialogue too!
This is one summer-fling turn college-romance trilogy that New Adult and Reverse Harem readers won’t want to miss.

I love a step brother romance and the fact there's two of them makes me app, combine that with it being a reverse harem and I'm in heaven. The tension is all there but due to reasons this love story isn't so simple. Bryce and Parker are just perfect, and I cannot wait to see how Chase and Reid overcome their obstacles for a happy ever after.
